Well you're humble about your understanding, which I like. Therefore you MUST be in MY quadra.

In honesty tho, I have no idea so far.. Try telling us a little about yourself without the theory in mind.

Some questions that might get the ball rolling:

    Who are you?
    What are you interests?
What do you do for a living?
Are you in school? How do/did you like it?
    Future goals? Past experiences?
    What are your friends like?
What would you say the focal point of your life is?
    Beliefs? General thoughts about w/e?
How would you describe yourself compared to others?
    How would others describe you?

SOCIONICS: Functions, Types, Tests this site has descriptions that ring true to many people upon reading them. As azeroffs suggested further expose is needed.

No matter how familiar you are with the subject, I am quite certain that I could find at least five, excluding those written in a language other than English.

You sound like ESFj. That was my first gut instinct.

If Ne went shopping, they would look in all of the stores for about 5 seconds and then leave to go to the next store. Ni, on the other hand, would go into about 3 stores total, but look at them all very thoroughly.
That's not a bad description actually, and I'd agree.

Me too. My EII sister thinks I don't try enough things...and I think the opposite of her.
All functions needs comparative descriptions like this.

    Someone do Se/ Si next.

Ti, on the other hand would arrange a system in which, for example, he went into each store in the order they were arranged on the street, and walked up and down each isle in a way that allowed him to see everything in the store at least once, ignoring the amount of time spent.

    What do you think?
I think you should spend less time worrying about your type and idealizing duality.

Then I apologize for misreading you.

Do you think that knowing your own type is unimportant or irrelevant?
    Yes.

That might explain "how", but not "why".

True, but it might also perfectly well explain why, depending on the level of detail you might demand.

There are many possible reasons as to why anyone might do anything. Yet, at the most fundamental level, I believe that all life is meaningless and there is no reason why anyone does anything. Any question of why things are as they are (ignoring the complication of mental states which are an artificiality of biological life) ultimately relies on a series of heuristics in pragmatics of theory of mind which attempt to find some particular point of the offending question and provide a reason relevant to whatever causal framework is relevant to the discussion (or a causal history of a reason, etc, etc).

Being a good-natured social creature with every desire to follow the social rules underlying these heuristics to their most favorable outcome when I responded to the above post I seriously considered the point for a few minutes and realized that I could not satisfactorily put into words what value I might receive from socionics, so I did not seriously try.

ugh... no. Just no. Ni-PoLR people (including ESEs with devalued Te) I've went shopping with or talked to about it are exactly what you describe as Te. I'm the opposite, going shopping in a general direction with a vague idea. It's not like I don't think ahead - I know what I need and where I can find it - but I don't plan or make decision ahead. And heaven forbid there should be a schedule, it's unnatural. I don't think I've ever managed to follow one when I had to.

It has less than nothing to do with Te, apart from the fact that the comparison is overdrawn to begin with.

Exactly what I do as well to people who love to voice their opinion, but hate to answer anything more specific. Surprisingly enough, it's one of the few things about me that Ti-egos (especially Ti-dominants) hate more than Fe-egos. In my experience, of course. Probably not type related.

You sound like Ti valuing. By by the amount of stuff you write and your willingness to understand things I'd say you don't have Ti in your ego? I'm guessing ESE for now.

Based on what has been said so far, I'm going to agree with Pinnochio about an impression of some NF.
