    Default Hi, I'm a box

    Essentially.

Anyway, I was referred here by my friends who practice socionics and have only seen glimpses of this site when searching for certain explanations. We discuss it very often, but I want more input on certain typing methods and reflection upon elements 'in action'. I have tried socionics.com but they are very MBTI inclined.

I have a very good understanding of the elements, but I doubt my typing procedures, which have ranged from typing on impression to writing a small book about a person to find out their type. I have decided that in order to correctly type someone, it has to be done on the spot, while interacting with them... how to identify elements in action and in response is now my dillema. Haha, I hope I can find some help and interest in my propositions.

My type is ILI. I've actually been typed and have thought I was every introverted and logical logical type there is (LII -> SLI -> ILI), except LSI, but even now I consider that type my second most logical type

    Hello and welcome, A box!

Rick DeLong has a good article on typing famous people here, and many of the things he mentions can be applied to regular people. I also find his page on The Semantics of Information Elements and the corresponding Wikisocion page on Vocabulary to be very helpful.

For further discussion the topic, I recommend starting a new thread in General Discussion - Model A - the16types.info Socionics Forums forum.

    Hi box,

Here's a to add to your box.
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

    That was very informative. Thanks

But I would like the biggest box to be even more transparent. The whole box-inside-box-thing would be more spectacular that way.

    Hi A box! Welcome.

    Welcome!

In socionics, the box symbols, and refer to introverted thinking and extraverted thinking, respectively. Some value the white boxes, others value the black boxes. Interpersonal conflicts can arise if the valued box preferences don't align. (I'm partial to the white ones myself, but please don't hold that against me).

And here is a song about boxes.

Oh, and if you ever need to get out of the box, HugoLeasing can help.
