Thread: Is being "scary" when you're angry type-related?

Default Is being "scary" when you're angry type-related?

Some people have told me that I am scary when I'm mad. I don't yell or get violent or ANYthing like that, so this used to confuse me. BUT once I caught a glimpse of my Angry Face in the mirror and, YIKES lol. I looked like I would kill someone. ALso I do know that I have a certain sort of fierceness, sometimes latent sometimes not, about me when riled, I can feel it and others have commented on it. Though, I do get over things very fast too most of the time. Is this related to type??

Maybe people who value Si are intimidated by Se types' anger and vice versa??

It's probably related to having a tiger-face. YIKES!

Gene Hackman, ESFp; very scary when angry.

Johnathan Rheis Meyers, ESFp; same story (not the best video of him; youtube is being all nazi over this series and banning everything)

I've mentioned once before on this forum that ESFps are very good at acting in angry roles.

(not anything negative meant by this; it's just something interesting)

SEEs are scary when they're mad.

My daughter's school bus driver was SEE, and she scared my dd so badly I started taking her to school myself. It wasn't the bus driver's fault. My daughter said she'd yell about stuff like to be quiet please so she could hear the two-way radio from the bus garage, but even using the word "please" doesn't help with someone sensitive to Se.

My ex-SIL is SEE. She can be the most fun in the world when she's happy, and the most frightening person on the planet when she's angry.

I feel it necessary to add some disclaimer that people of other types can also be scary when mad, and that there aren't strong or absolute relationships between behavior and type.

Do you think he could be SE? He doesn't have the same level of confidence as a leading F type. Also seems to have a dismissive and questioning attitude towards his potential and abilities. Hung out with Dustin Hoffman, whatever type he is (I've heard LI suggested).

Not so much Si egos (I don't think) but Ne's, and especially Se PoLR's, can be easily frightened by people when they're like this. I think Si's would just be annoyed by it

That's how I've experienced SEE's to be as well. Very positive, friendly and charming when happy, but down right combative when their upset or frustrated

ESE has strong but unvalued . For them its in the 8th position. So even though its unvalued, its their next strongest function next to base and its a 4-D function.

I dunno, Se polrs can be quite aggressive without being fully aware of it.

Se people are generally more in control with it and use it 'properly.'

Pushy (not in the physical sense, but in verbal-pushing to make the point across) without being aware of how pushy they are.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Yeah it's like with the little things, they don't know how forceful to be ....and sometimes this results in being too forceful for a situation.

Like my dad (EII, oh boy do we have super-ego relations!) will knock on my door to tell me dinner is ready, then he doesn't get a response in 5 seconds, and will command even more attention....and I'm like chill out, don't get worked up over that.
Or like this EII in my Uni class, she asks a million different questions during a lecture and it annoys just about everyone with them (including lecturers) and I just don't see Se ppl disturbing the environment in that way. It's like we are more aware of the constraints of an environment.

Sorry, we just have to know or get clear on the logic so that we can understand every aspect about how things work.

I had a Te friend in class you used to dodge my questions..lol that was fun; he voiced out with strong commands "How about you do this or that!!!!" and I would just voice down or not ask any more questions.

    Why do you say that?

I don't either of these statements are very type related. The only possible type relation I can see is that we might be more likely to perceive as scary those who are our conflictors or those who use actively use functions that we find uncomfortable. For that reason, I tend to find some ego types scary as is my PoLR. Of course this doesn't apply to all ego types. I know some PoLR types who find some ego types scary and so on.
