This could have something to do with having in the super-ego, but really this is not very type-related.

I wouldn't say "can't stand" but the least likely to enjoy them are probably the XEIs... But it's not really type-related anyway.

My INFj mother seems slightly disturbed by these. Myself, I have almost infinitely high tolerance for them, though I tend to find excessive violence boring and lacking in culture.

I enjoy myself plenty of violence and blood, but only if it's supplemented with a good plot (Or a silly plot like Pineapple Express). I absolutely hate horror movies that put too much emphasis on the horror aspect. Who the fuck wants to be horrified? The Grudge was stupid etc. For some reason I thought the ring was ok though.

I don't watch movies of this sort. I did some when I was younger, if I remember right. I dont' think even then I went out of my way to watch them, but if I were in a group and everyone was watching one I wouldn't refuse to go for that reason. But I might not look at the screen teh whole time.

I think there's a tendency for the above mentioned types (someone listed them) to avoid movies like that, but there aren't behavioral absolutes in Socionics, because Socionics isn't based on behavior, but instead on how people process information. Which can show up in behavior differently in different people.

Oh cmon... I'm EII and I couldn't stop watching Hostel (I'm a masochist like that). It's not really type related, per se. Maybe it's just counterphobic E6 behavior though.

There might be gender related issues involved too. That's another problem with tendencies. So many things can influence them and change what we see - gender, age, what movies you've watched in the past and whether you're desensitized to that, etc. You can't just look at a behavior and say what type someone has to be or can't possibly be.

Yeah, I mean, I've been pretty desensitized about some things. As a kid, I would get traumatized by blood and violence. There was this movie called "Killer Clowns" which was really disturbing for me as a kid, and my dad thought it was pretty funny, because that's like one of the lamest scary comedy movie created, hehe.

It's not that I hate them it's more that I find them unintersting. I like horror movies I can see a person being killed and stabbed and his blood running everywhere with my eyes wide open but it does not make a movie interesting to me. I like horror movies that are very psychologically intense. I like the tension much more than blood.

Most horror movies I find lame. That's because most of them are shallow and meaningless. If there is something more to the movie than simply trying to surprise me or disgust me into being scared I can enjoy it, but most directors / writers dont seem talented enough for that.

Well because... they are the types that are most likely to "feel" their enviroment as well as internalize their environment.

I don't care for the genre. I agree with crazedrat about most of them trying to disgust people into being scared. It ends up just disgusting.

Horror movies and action is ok. But really graphical violence where everything is shown is too much. I feel so terrible watching. I easily get absorbed by a movie, and I like being absorbed, but if the violence gets too raw I feel sick, disgusted, manipulated. It's like "ok, this is no fun anymore", I have to distance myself. I'll stop watching or jump over the worst parts.

Honestly, I find watching the news to be a lot more traumatizing than seeing violence portrayed on film, since the latter is fictitious despite being more graphic
It's the sense of knowing that someone is hurt/being hurt that bothers me, not so much the blood and gore. But I do at times get emotional when a character in a film/TV is being hurt/killed

My EII sister is this way. We're both PoLR but I can tolerate violence or blood in movies far more than she can. Doesn't mean I like it though, only that I can tolerate it. I much prefer movies that are less violent. I do like action in movies but violence for the sake of violence, which seems to be the case in a lot of action movies doesn't do it for me. And of course I abhor violence in real life.

My sister can barely tolerate seeing any blood whereas I can tolerate it as long as its not too graphic. If its too graphic or looks too real, then I have to look away.
