    Default Betas are the best

I stayed up half the night last night studying. First I studied with a bunch of betas (mostly STs) for like three hours, and we actually got work done, even though we goofed off much of the time. And we had a bunch of digressions that were 4x more interesting than the actual studying. And then I hung out with my SLE best friend for about an hour, totally irresponsibly, 'cause I had (have) a paper to write, and we sat and argued about whether or not you should read Sonnet 116 ("Let me not to the marriage of true minds") religiously. I was busy defending the right of art to be non-pedagogical, but he was actually right the whole time. Also we argued about whether the word "coitus" is Klingon or Latin (it comes from Latin). Then I went and wrote (am writing) a stupid paper. But my night was like 400x better cause I spent most of it with betas. And beta is the best quadra.

Okay, that's all. Also SLEs are the best type.
Not a rule, just a trend.

IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.

    Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...

I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.

I memorized it when I was 16 and I can still quote it off the top of my head.

^Me too, sort of. I don't know when I memorized it, but it was pretty young, and I can quote it now.

Basically, the idea was that if the love will last forever, presumably the two loving entities will also last forever, which is boring and wrong, 'cause the poem is in no way about the immortality of the soul, that's just not its focus. Also, there's a line that mentions that love bears it out "even to the edge of doom" but does not make it clear whether love dies at the "edge of doom" whatever that is (presumably the apocalypse, but perhaps death?). Anyway, he finally explained that it made him think about what it would actually be like to love someone forever, to have the sort of love that would be unchanging, not merely in the sense that it would weather all harms/changes/ills, but in the sense that it would weather eternity, like you wouldn't get sick of loving/being around that person, etc. So ultimately, it was a worthwhile reading, so I was wrong in condemning the reading as not worthwhile at all. But now that I think about it, really, the sonnet is about something different.

Hanging out around your quadra is just so natural and so much easier than hanging around other people, no matter how fun the other people (and other people can be really, really fun). I like having not-beta friends a lot, but I wish I had more mostly-beta or all-beta groups to hang out with.

I feel exactly the same. I feel like other betas are family, in a way. Even this female SLE I just got to know over the past month or so... I feel like I would turn to her for both fun and for support before I'd approach delta NFs I've known for years. There's just something about her. Our souls match or something.

That would be the worst lube ever. Ugh. I know some people are into it, but matching food with sex = not a good idea in my opinion.

It's the best idea there is.

I'm interested in this discussion about "coitus" potentially being Klingon. It's inconceivable to me how there would be any confusion, but that's because I was force-fed Latin first year highschool.

In other news, betas are still the best (and I'd like more of them around), but I was in class the other day, and we did Sonnet 116, and my professor showed us how from the second quatrain on, it could be read to be 100% completely a sex poem. (Ruins the poem for you, I promise).

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark (penis)
    That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. (it's not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean)
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
(here the antecedent of "his" is read as "Love," i.e., my penis, although the "though" makes this reading problematic)
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom (i.e., vagina).
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.
    Funny, right?
