Default Unity among group members - what do Deltas think of this?

    "United We Stand...Divided We Fall"

or to quote a theme from LOST... "Live Together, Die Alone"

How might Delta types view this ideology? Would it be something worth adhering to from your perspective? I'm curious what you think about this.

Yeah, I would like to know how Delta views collectivism, too.

Those two quotes are not equivalent and imply different things, but the first one is, in my opinion, a Beta ideology.

The second one is Gamma ideology ?

Personally, I don't agree with the first quote. The way I see it, in most cases, people can do just fine on their own, so "divided we fall" is a little overboard. Then again, I'm a fairly independent person, so it's a given that I'd think that.

As for the LOST quote, I don't fully understand what it's trying to convey. It seems a little ambiguous, so interpreting it would be dependent on the context... unless I'm missing something

I agree with Greeter for the first one.
For Delta unity, maybe something like: "You'll never die alone."
Brings up warm fussy feelings about friends and family that will never leave you with things get tough.

Although technically that might sound Gamma-ish, I've gotten this sort of vibe/message from pretty much all Delta types and only from one Gamma type (ESI).

How does it differ from "United we stand", being a Beta ideology(?)

Less of a fighting spirit, more of a sense that everyone should look out for everyone else.

Edit: And yes I do believe Juggalo culture is Delta.

Interesting. That's a very thin line I see drawn there, although, one could easily differentiate one from the other just by using some societies or systems of thought as an example.

Sounds elitist, you will never die alone, even though no one dies alone. Thanks

Just to make the line a little thicker, 'United we stand' is typically against some power/force (stand against what?), it's like something you say just before you get into a violent head on collision and pretty much only a violent collision.

"You'll never die alone" is more of a "I HERE FOR MAAN!", "you don't have to go through this alone" and "we're all family here".

    IDK if that helps.

I think there's something to be said for collegiality.

I suppose that's relating to the "divided we fall" more so than the "united we stand."

I feel like aristocracy would play some sort of part in this, although I'm still not totally clear as to what aristocracy really is. I guess it's a predisposition to seeing people as representative of the groups they belong to first and foremost, which would answer your question very succinctly. This seems like much more of an E6 trait than anything related to socionics though.

Also I feel like delta would take much less of an aggressive stance on those quotes; to me it's more like "so long as we stand together, we'll help you get back up if you fall."

There has to be a strong figure holding them all up. Someone with balls.

This too sounds a lot like E6 and not necessarily delta. E6 instinctively needs some a person to act as an anchor for whatever need or want the E6 may have. This can lead to a desire for a strong figure to look up to and admire, kinda like putting someone up on a pedestal. Whether or not this is an inherently delta mentality though, I'm not so sure.

Every group requires a strong leader if it wants to fulfill its goals. Delta or not delta. It's the 80-20 law. Remove the leader and people will run away like scared sheep.

Addendum: people (in this context, as a members of a group) ARE E6. So you are right.

I'm not sure I really relate to or like either of them, though the second one is perhaps a little better.

I like the idea of having lots of strong connections, or just lots of connections in general. But the multiple strong ones are the best because that's where the greatest safety and support is. But the more good connections you have with people the better the resource sharing is.

I personally like having several different people I can go to for advice, for example. And the more people I can trust like that the wider variety of perspectives and expertise I can get. And I can likewise have a way to give of my own unique talents and resources.

I don't like the "divided we fall" part much because I think some people might take it to mean "if you disagree with me you're dividing the group and we're all going to fail". I think in a healthy and supporting group of people there has to be room for new and different ideas and perspectives.

I like it, though it's really subject to interpretation.
