    Default New Test

I just finished writing up a short test. I tried not to make the questions TOO obvious, and it may still have some things that need to be worked on. Please take it, and let me know what you think. Just post your results and comments here. Thanks!

Yeah, it's Reinin dichotomies. Once more people have taken it, I'll say what each question is supposed to be measuring.

Part of the problem is the way the results are listed. If you've tied on a few of them, it gives the result of the first one in my list, rather than the others. I've got to find a way to fix that.

So Huginn, you had tied: ESE, EII, and ILE
Jessica you were tied on: IEE, LSI and ILE

one of those results probably makes more sense than the others.

Question number two should have higher value to indicate INFj/EII type...we will act immediately to help someone but not financially. Also number three...an EII, if her internal emotional life is rattled, she will seem very emotional on the outside almost irrational but left on her own she will be very unemotional or melancholic.

On the 2nd question, the distinction is between short-term without checking up later vs. long term follow-through. Someone asks for help/advice and you help them and don't think anymore about it, or you consider the long-term implications, and check up on how they're progressing with your advice or help.

This is meant to measure tactic vs. strategic. EIIs are strategic.

The 3rd is as you guessed rational/irrational, but the question is not asking whether or not a person shows emotion. It's instead the degree and rapidity of the change from one state to another. Both from one mood/emotion to another, and from one state of energy to another.

Yes but EII love people and will rush to anyone's rescue instantaneously especially to their friends. Strategy is best refered to IEI and tactics to EII. You will see with Filatova's description of IEI that they will know what choice is the winning choice because of a farther scope or ability to see in time; but EII choose small choices because their time visualization is shorter then that of IEI.

When you also look at dual seeking...ESTp is a strategist...the win win now type and IEI fits the bill..

ESTj's are tacticians...they love to play war video games because they are all about tactics...as are their dual EII.

Okay, looks like this is a crappy test so far. Questions were measuring:

    1) negativist/positivist.
    2) tactical/strategist
    3) rational/irrational
    4) merry/serious
    5) compliant/stubborn
    6) constructivist/emotivist
    7) right/left
    8) asking/declaring
    9) dynamic/static
    10) careless/prudent
    11) democrat/aristocrat

A weakness of the reinin dichotomies is that they don't apply equally to everyone within any category. Also, the test-writer might be biased, lol, making their own type's categories more universally appealing. Shit.

Oh I thought you might want to know, because when I made tests, the lowest answer can usually be quite helpful. But Reinin dichotomies make all situations weird.

I scored lowest on ESI (-6).

    1. C (I really do both quite often)
    2. A
    3. A (B sounds rather... extreme)
    4. B
    5. C (Wait, conflict and relationships are dichotomous? If the relationship causes conflict, I back away from the relationship.)
    6. A (I usually can't maintain an emotional conversation...)
    7. C (Teams often go better, yet I can only really rely on myself.)
    8. C (People call me smart all the time, but other than that, I've been called narrow-minded and inquisitive with equal strength. This seems related to #1.)
    9. A (Looks like classic Objects/Fields base function...)
    10. A
    11. A

    I'm amazed how double-minded I am now.

Your result for The Experimental Socionics Test ...

I was kinda hoping for a way-off result, but this managed to astonish me anyway... So close, yet so far...

    Okay, so I picked...
    1. *
    2. Tactical (I usually don't get asked to help with long term problems)
    3. Rational
    4. Ti>Te
    5. *
    6. Constructivist (More to do with Thinker imo)
    7. *
    8. *
    9. Dynamic (Refers to Perceiving functions only, as I feared)
    10. Carefree (Admittedly this one was a tough call... hmm, it also contradicts ESE)
    11. Democrat

maybe we can now finally conclude that reinin is too unreliable to produce accurate results.

So the test had it's use after all.

oke, maybe then that was the problem.

then the OP should fix the questions a bit and we can see whether it works better.

    ESE

    4% ESE, -2% LIE, 0% SEE, 0% IEE, 0% SLI, -4% ILI, 0% EIE, 4% LSI, 4% LII, -4% SEI, 4% ILE, -4% SLE, 0% IEI, 4% ESI, -4% EII, -4% LSE and 0% Unknown!

    In other words

4% ESE, LSI, LII, ILE, ESI
0% SEE, IEE, SLI, EIE, IEI
    -2% LIE
-4% ILI, SEI, SLE, EII, LSE

The negative percentage was weird, I'm guessing it's based on a this, not that system.

    4) merry/serious
    5) compliant/stubborn
    6) constructivist/emotivist
    7) right/left
    8) asking/declaring
    9) dynamic/static
    10) careless/prudent
    11) democrat/aristocrat

A weakness of the reinin dichotomies is that they don't apply equally to everyone within any category. Also, the test-writer might be biased, lol, making their own type's categories more universally appealing. Shit.
I had a problem with the rational/irrational question which seemed to reflect in my result. I think the idea of mood is slightly misleading. My mood is very stable where my energy level is much more variable. In contrast, my EJ best friend is very steady in her high energy level, always needs to be doing something, but her moods are variable and she can go from perfectly content to completely put out in a heart beat.

Question 6 almost didn't make sense to me. I couldn't figure out how being business-like was related to getting to know someone. To be honest, I'm not even sure how you meant this to reflect Contructivist/Emotivist. I think perhaps you focused too much on the idea of "talking business" from the constructivist description. That said, Constructivist/Emotivist is kind of a tricky dichotomy to describe in a quiz question.

An overall comment that was particularly highlighted for me in the Process/Result Question was the fact that your questions are overwhelmingly socially oriented. This can be slightly problematic for those who are more socially introverted or generally less focused on social situations. For instance, many Process introverts will not necessarily want to work in groups and will instead say that they prefer to work alone.

Those are some of the things I noticed about the test. The idea of writing a dichotomy oriented test is not a bad idea, imo. You may simply want to consider your questions a little more carefully.

Your result for The Experimental Socionics Test ...
    ILI

    -1% ESE, -5% LIE, -3% SEE, 5% IEE, 3% SLI, 7% ILI, 3% EIE, 1% LSI, -7% LII, 1% SEI, -1% ILE, -1% SLE, -3% IEI, -1% ESI, -1% EII, -1% LSE and 0% Unknown!

If I had to complain about any of the questions it would be the one about Rational/Irrational

But I would have to say that the result is pretty consistent with what I have been thinking as of late.

Wow 9% is pretty high compared to what I've seen so far in this thread.
