What is "mastering"? What is "foreign"? What is the colour of the soul?

The color of water.

I'm not quite sure how to answer this. I know enough spanish that if I went to a spanish-speaking country, I could not die. Meaning that I'm mildly conversant, and pretty good at writing it. But I would count it as "mastered" by any means.

I'm IEI (at least for the foreseeable future).

Ni's are among the best learners for foreign languages in my experience, especially with Fe while Ne's are among the worst (no sure which of Fi and Ti is better) - the contrast becomes stronger for Irrationals.

So I don't see the point of probing for intuition vs sensing.

Foreign languages were generally my best subject in school, and I feel I've done quite exceptionally at Japanese.

I took spanish from like 2nd grade all through my junior year of high school. I can speak a little, but definitely have not mastered it. To be fair, spanish class pre-highschool was a joke. I hate it, but it's probably because of how shitty my elementary spanish teacher was.

I still voted yes before reading the post, but I feel, like compared to most people, I "master" Latin as well

I can't respond in Spanish, but my response is I don't feel like it.

My opinion on learning languages? I think any type can learn a second language, its all about approach and interest. Trying to get me to learn a language with a communication focus is a waste of time because I find it annoying and repetitive. Learning a language with a grammar and structure focus is much easier. Learn the rules, learn the pieces and then it's like solving puzzles. This is why learning Latin was fun. It's a dead language so no one learns it for the purpose of communicating. Instead they teach you the rules to the game of "translating Latin".
