I have always had problems with infatuation. There is an ILI girl I know who said in the course of her life, she has felt an attraction to two guys. I have had feelings for about 2^4 girls in about 8 years, that is at least two girls a year.
I can't say that I truly am more vulnerable to it, it is that I see the best in everyone. I don't really see "potential" in them, it is that I need to hold someone dear.
This is a funny time to talk about it, I just fell out of love with the first girl I actually loved in my life, and on the rebound my heart decided to get infatuated with an identical. I hate it

Interesting... I've only ever ben really infatuated once, for a couple of years! It was like being a coke addict. (Not that I'd know.)

how can you be infatuated for a couple years? Infataution is really intense but fast because there was nothing there, only persay, sexual, instinctual feelings. Love is when you don't care what the person looks like really (obviously looks matter somewhat), but you enioy them for who they are, no matter what they do to you or say. That was in my case. It didn't matter what she did or said, I always felt the same way about her. If that wasn't love, I must have gotten close to it, because that feeling felt so genuine. I can sense when I am infatuated, because I just want to do things with them, I don't want to just talk.

I guess infatuation isn't the right word. Let's call it falling in love. I just think the one is the more extreme version of the other... or that's what I'd like to believe.
Omigosh, I think you've put a crack into an illusion I've created for myself, to be able to cope with the situation.

PS - I like reading you're posts, I don't think that was long at all
I know I am talking a lot, but I have a lot to say. I always saw infatuation as just your instincts trying to get with someone, it is raw and without any sort of deepness. Love is different, it is like you value this person for so much more than what they look like or how they speak or something like that. I can't explain it, I am done.

SLI, lol. Do you have an entire relationship persona that's reserved for your SO? That no one else sees unless they catch you with a love interest?

Sure, I have, on several occasions, been infatuated with someone. With so many attractive qualities in people, it's hard not to. However, I don't think this is type related.
I don't really think the actual infatuation is type related. I think how a person's infatuation works is type related. Ne types are, yes, likely to focus on the amazing potential they see in the relationship. Ni types, on the other hand, are likely to forecast and foresee how great a relationship will be.
Not a rule, just a trend.
IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.
