    Default Extensions of Socionics

As time has gone by, my understanding of socionics has become both deeper and more tangible; I have developed my own typing system, and various examples of the the information elements have become clear to me. However, very recently, I have realized that some people have taken socionics too far; they develop their own typing system, and believe that everyone neatly falls into one of 16 types - with all relations in place (at one time, I had, in fact, been one of these people). I have started to deviate from this. I believe that there are indeed variations within the individual types that even show themselves in intertype relations; not all LIIs identify with each other and relate well. Because of this, I have been looking into extensions of socionics. I have looked at some of the major socionist's ideas. The main problem I have is that many of these ideas tend to reuse notions of information metabolism (e.g., the DCNH model). While these systems are not completely contrived, I would think that, based on sheer notions of probability, the best extensions would come from outside of socionics. I think that the tendency for extension through elements of information metabolism is sort of holding the field back. Perhaps this is the wrong audience, but what I am trying to say is that if any of you are seriously thinking of extending socionics, I would suggest that you try and consider outside ideas.

If that's your response, I suggest that you simply delete your post, and while I think of ways to improve socionics, you can think of a better response...

Well he contributed to my understanding of socionics. I don't think you saw that discussion... it happened on Metasocion.com, not here.

But you are free to rediscover what I have already discovered.

Rick once wrote a subtype article on this forum, or the other forum, in which he made subtypes of bodytype and other ideas. Probably what you are looking for.

Though I still think the subtypes have much to do with IM. Since if you know enough people of one specific type, you can see copies of them. But just the subtype thing is still to complex, you'll need to know about 50 people of one type, to draw any certain conclusions.

It's way premature for most people to start using subclassification systems. Most people can't type worth shit in the existing system, let alone get things right when they increase the specification of their typings.

No, you don't need 50 people of one type. 50 people of different types are enough if there is a general pattern. And I'm confident I found it. All base function subtypes have round faces. Tell me a base function type with an oval face...

In comparison to other IEIs? How many IEIs do you know personally? Are you sure you aren't Ne-IEI? Are you familiar with DCNH? Maybe I should have mentioned that I am talking about DCNH...

The important point is the tendency. Cheney's face is not really "round", Bush's face is not really "oval". Nevertheless, Cheney's face is more round than Bush's and so on...

    My face is octagonal.
C-LIIs have rather square faces compared to other LIIs. Counting the edges is not necessary.

No, I'm not familiar with DCNH. *ducking out of this conversation*
DCNH is interesting. You should learn it and would probably realize that you are C-IEI with strengthened Ne and Se.

What if your face has non-Euclidean geometry? Which subtype is that?

Well, if your face is a Riemann manifold, then you must be a Dave subtype.

What about other kinds of manifolds?

    This thread is now awesome.

If you have a 0 subtype then does your face have an asymptote?

If I throw a firecracker into your face - does it change your type by changing your facial structure? We should try it..
