    Default Atonement (the movie)

Has anyone seen this? It made me cry.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

I didn't like it. It was hard to get involved in emotionally, I don't know why all the scenes seemed so flat to me, but they did, I couldn't work up the nerve to care if Robbie or whatever her name was fell off a bridge, and Briony was boring too, like she was just waiting around corners to jump out at people and be like LOOK I CAN STARE YOU DOWN WITH MY FISH EYES *stare stare stare*. The typewriter effect was overdone and annoying, click click CLICK CLICK CLICK click click...... The few things I liked about the movie was the music..at one point they play Claire de Lune...the flashback scene in which Robbie "rescues" Briony, and the scene on the beach at the end of the movie with Robbie and Cecilia. That was cute, and an added bonus was that nobody talked or did monologues or random *insightful* breathy phrases.

I saw it over a year ago and it was a really good movie, very sad ending. Though I don't remember enough about it to type any of the characters

    Default yeah, it was limp

i agree with dolphin on all points. also, the story seemed to move forward SOOO slowly with each scene, watching it i got the sense that some important aspect of the narrative was being kept from the audience. and it just failed to excite. i liked the clothes though. and the production design was pretty spiffy.
