Default Your definitions of functions in Model A

    Here are mine:

1: "Who you are"; the eyes through which you automatically see the world (often without even realizing it); the area you are most confident in. This is your "default mode". You don't mind when others are weak in it and dependent on you for it because it's natural for you do it anyways.

2: "What you do"; a tool you use in conjunction with your first function. You like seeing others use this and encourage them to do so. You like doing it, but you don't want someone to be completely dependent on you for it all of the time.

3: What you feel like you're supposed to do. At best, it's used as a tool to supplement your first function. At worst, it's an area you resentfully submit to other people's demands in, which causes internal conflict.

4: The thing you suck at but don't feel like you should have to worry about, anyways. It's an area that it's difficult to maintain balance in... you either ignore it too much or go way overboard with it. Usually there just isn't much of a focus on it unless the situation calls for it. Honest criticism in this area can really sting, depending on the situation.

5: "What you need"; or more specifically, what you need from others. Without this you're helpless, but you're completely incapable of providing it for yourself.

6: "What you want"; while you're attracted to this function in others, what you most want is for outside sources to encourage you to use it and to make you feel like you're good at it.

7: An area that you generally give as much attention to as is necessary and no more. You unconsciously know that it's important and use it to support your first function, but if someone suggests that you should be giving more attention to this area, you either ignore them or tell them that they're wrong, that you're already giving the right amount of attention to this area, and that you don't really care if they disagree. Those who focus on this area too much (in your opinion) annoy you.

8: A hobby. It's fun and all, but it's not as important as your 2nd function.

Here are mine. If they copy another previously mentioned versions it hasn't been on purpose:

    1. The basic "strength" you were born with. Everything you do, say, or think, has the "mark" of this IM element.
    2. Your main "tool" in order to accomplish something.
    3. Something that you wish you were better at. Proficient use of this function in other people captivates you. Either you ignore it completely, or during the course of your life you develop it to a decent level.
    4. Your weakness. Something you don't understand.
    5. What you need others to provide for you to keep your mind in balance. If you go a long time deprived of it, your psyche forces you to produce this yourself, with many side-effects.
    6. A rush. An stimulant. A drug. As any drug, it has side-effects. Like with 3, people who seem to use this effortlessly captivate you.
    7. Something that you are good at, but it's so deeply ingrained in your psyche that you find yourself unable to even explain what it is. Other's strong use of this element immediately puts you off, and you tend to "tune" them out.
    8. A secondary "tool", but that you don't take as seriously. However, you're almost as good at this as you are at your base.

1: Who I basically am, what I eventually fall back and return to.
2: Something that I just use, I can more or less turn it on/off like a switch.
    3: I don't know.
4: Painful and embarrassing when pointed out.
5: Neurotic thoughts and behavior. Something that you think you "should" have.
6: You may or may not need this function, but it's better if you had it.
7: I don't know what this function does...
8: How am I supposed to know? I'm way too unconscious of this function.
