Default School of Associative Socionics: Music of Static Types

Music of the oppositions Id-Superego and Superego-Id.

This music is not fully serious or jut cheerful. It is somewhere in between. On the whole, it is a peaceful, relaxing music, not forceful or sad. It may be loud or not, in any way it helps you to unwind, improves your mood, distract you from worries and negative thoughts. It is opposite to a dynamic music in a way that there is no sharp change in rhythm, no contrasts. The dynamic types may perceive this music as stagnated, without sufficient mobility in space and time.

Hmm, this is interesting. I think you are on to something here, but i don't understand how the static and dynamic music works in connection to the super-ego/id's and ego/super-id?

If I understand it music like Blackmore's Night is dynamic, the music is very melodious with less focus on the beat/pulse:

    and this is static:

How would quadra values influence when it comes to this?

I picked the above examples because my SLE friend likes the "static" music better - the dynamic she finds "banal", while I find the "static" music well, static heh. But I suspect the static music is from her conflicting quadra which I find interesting.

Yes, you are absolutely right with your choices. Static music sounds irrational to me similar to trance. The first one is very beautiful. I would call it ethical Superid. It reminds me of one very popular old dynamic music:

I can not comment much on quadra's value. I can only say that I use it for my associative test as a analogy or association -just one of many. I associate alfa with Id, beta -Ego, gamma - Superego and delta -Superid.

More staitcs which sound more irational, than rational:

Plenty of examples you can find in the thread TPE Id, e.g.:

I think this is Static... but it's also sad and serious. Is it still Static music?

It (the music) seems to find itself sad... I guess that is Irrational.

I agree that "Static" music seem somewhat "bland" in affecting or changing the moods (to me)...

Yes, it is static and quiet, so it is introverted music somewhere between Superego and Superid. Temperament between flegmatic and melancholic, but more flegmatic in nature.

    2 Matilda
this is an interesting piece of music because they mix and match different styles of music. However it does not fit static music because there are sharp contrasts between the parts of the music from very high &fast to low&slow. This is a good sign of dynamics in music. As jughead said and I had the same feeling, that certain genres of music fit better into some of the music categories. So classical music and jazz, for example, must be more dynamic in nature than pop or reggy. I did not look into the words but I hear what they repeat "I am a greatest man". This is another sign of dynamic music and namely Ego-music (ratinoal extraverts). If we shall analise it (+ text) we may find that some pieces are more rational in nature than the others depending on what syle of music they present in this song. On the whole, I see this music as dynamic.
Compare with this music which has not got any sharp contrasts or hardly any contrasts:

    1. This song is sad in nature (text, topic) but styled as predominantly flegmatic - static song Superego-Id:

    2. This is a Russian song which is sad in nature (text, topic) but styled as cheereful song Id-Superego:

The song Missing shows some movement of the train as saying that time goes by but nothing changed in the way the person feels about her/his friend. This is a stable feeling of attachment to somebody or something (place) which does not change in years, Fi. Static music often uses static pictures which are also present in the video. I think the music is great because they manage to give the feel of the moving time (Ni) as a background and stability on the level of feelings.

    Sounds boring.
I'll come back here for you to analyze my music. Even though I already know the results.

Bled. Welcome! I would love to find members on this forum who is interested in using my approach to type Music - and Art- preferences as well as to use my questionnaire. This is a new approach. It is possible to specialise in just music or art preferences or just to use questionnaire. I prefer all three instruments. However, some people are interested only in typing music or art. this way it is possible to become a "certified" socionist in associative psychodiagnostics. If anyone interested - I will be glad to give my support in studying my approach.
