I agree, Beta seems right. The Se seems pretty evident in the physically confrontational tone of the lyrics, and for whatever the reason I get an Fe-valuing vibe from the music.

I think Smash Mouth and Chumba Wumba are delta actually.

    This more Beta.

Tubthumping isn't confrontational at all, it's about having fun and perseverance despite being exploited or abused.

You have to remember something about Chumbawumba and that's the kind of satire they used. It's very un-Alpha like. Very dark and tongue-in-cheek satire.

I don't think they're alpha but there's plenty of dark and tongue in cheek satire in alpha.

Monty Python is not silly, it's satire... and this is widely considered Alpha.

if we view the lyrics of chumbawumba at face value they seem beta. if we view them as satire, then prolly something else. i kinda see what mimosa is saying though...there is a ligher tone to it than a beta song would have.

    agreed.

All I know, is that the song is not Gamma.

I do like the song though. I can still see it as sort of a more light-hearted strain of Beta.

idk the song gives me a Queen vibe.

Ahh, that is true. Hmm, I'm not so confident about my initial response then.

I think it's very clear the top picture is a bunch of pussy hippies and the bottom picture is a bunch of Molotov cocktail throwing degenerates.

Now let's dance to the sound of music.

They have taken influence from anarchist politics and an irreverent attitude to authority, touching on issues such as domestic violence, religion, racism, fascism, war, homosexuality, information technology, pop culture, resistance, working class rights, and consumerism.
Chumbawamba were at the forefront of the 1980s anarcho-punk movement, frequently playing benefit gigs in squats and small halls for causes such as animal rights, the anti-war movement, and community groups. The band's collective political views are often described as anarchist. They made several songs about the UK miners' strike, including the Common Ground cassette and a song dedicated to the pit village of Fitzwilliam, which was one of the worst cases of economic decline following the strike.[2]

Same. It always seemed like a very childish rant against authority, carrying some mindless "haha I can have fun, no matter what!" message that I despise.

The particular "physically confrontational tone" of this song, is more typical of the ska and punk music of Alpha, than of Beta music, imo.

    Here's Beta confrontational tone:

YouTube - RATM -Killing in the name - official video

Edit : Chumbawambas say "I get knocked down, but I get up again - you're never gonna keep me down" , RATM say "Fuck you, I wont do what you tell me". Both talk about reactions to power abuse, Chumbawamba reacts by not relating to it (anti-Se), RATM takes direct action (Se). Just an idea.

    Chumbawumba = Alpha.

And yes, Rage is the epitome of Beta Oh my teenage years...
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

I dislike that too, but the actual music is like... its one of those songs I heard when I was a kid and I immediately felt something stirring about it. Its a silly song too, but it doesn't matter I like the sound.

    "Pissing the night away"
"He drinks a whiskey drink, he drinks a vodka drink, he drinks a lager drink, he drinks a cider drink"
"He sings a song that reminds him of the good times"
"He sings a song that reminds him of the best times"

these are all Te descriptions, the changing observable actions. Fe descriptions would be highlighting the underlying, changing degrees of emotional excitement and arousal. there's none of that in this song.

also the tone of "We'll be singing, when we're winning" strikes me as potentially Aristocratic.
This is what made me consider Delta.

This makes sense. At least we agree the song is in fact about Se, anyway. It would probably help if we knew what the lyrics were supposed to mean, or if there was any deeper meaning behind them at all...

    lol the things we psychoanalyze....

The song is catchy but not really one of my faves, the whole 'don't let yourself be a victim and rise above it' seems Delta, holding onto your pain until it naturally transforms into something you find meaningful is Beta.

My favorite artist right now is Aimee Mann.
