Thread: Ability to talk forever

  1. #1

    Default Ability to talk forever.

    Type-related?

If so, will certain types have certain patterns to their ramblings?

Yes, and the two most qualified for the subject of this thread. Probably.

In relationships/friendships, I am almost always the most verbal one by far. I feel uncomfortable when I'm not.

And if you want to hear verbosity and tangents out the ass, just ask me to explain something like how the PCI bus works.

I've experienced it with both ENps. Both female. Not so much with ESEs. One ESE I know just laughs at what I say and thats it. She might be SEI though.

I do this as well so I don't think it's a necessarily IEE, ESE trait. Though for me it typically comes as a surprise for people as in groups of people I keep to myself but in one on one conversations I tend to not stop talking unless stopped. And the way I talk non stop is that I talk about somethign I know non stop. Basically dispensing knowledge about some topic I am well versed in, try to teach the other person.

Just make lots of weak connections.

A shining example: I moved from "music" to "sim city" with a detour through snatching my SLI friend's phone and doing a wind sound effect and panoramic sweep of the English classroom we were in.

    Don't ask.

I can sometimes ramble... the last time I did, it was a constant stream of correcting myself on increasingly trivial points about logic.

Oh, this is a good point.

I find it obviously induces further Ramble when the Ramblee starts asking questions.

I like people that tell stories, especially if they're funny or humorous.

Like how I respond to "Wassup" is usually... "nothing much... wassup with you..."

Really... tell me wassup... I'm bored out of my mind... give me some slice of life so I can live vicariously thru you... is that too much to ask?

you really *would* do well with an ESE. But I've found that SEIs can also talk on and on when given the chance. So either one.

I am not a particularly chatty IEE....I will talk when the topic and time are right. I am definitely not a chatterbox. However, my LSI husband is a talker. Yak, yak, yak... How can a damn introvert talk so much?? He dominates almost every conversation.....I thought it was supposed to be the other way 'round.

I know an LSI who is also a talker. definitely. actually, I know two of them now that I think about it. both talkers. but they pick and choose. they don't just talk about anything, it has to be something that interests them. I think that's true of most introverts though. Gosh, I can talk on about some stuff. And my SEI friend talks on and on once you get him going. but maybe the question is, do they initiate the talking? I don't think so. I think it's more that the introverts are given the opportunity, a clear listening ear, and then it flows out of them. Whereas ESEs and IEEs, etc. are more of the initiators. maybe?

Cmon, like never? I don't think so. Btw..to initiate the talking one has to have a reason to do so, unless you're an extrovert. Just kidding, they have their reasons too, it's just that some(many) of those reasons wouldn't be sufficient for introverts to initiate talking.

Hahaha, yes, I do this all the time! Well, not all the time, but a lot of the time. Although I guess that depends on what qualifies as "a lot". I mean, percentage-wise, it's really not that huge of a percentage. But it's still more than most people. So I guess what I'm saying is that I've done this before. Well, except...

All I really need is for someone to say about five words of interest in the topic, appear to be interested, and ask me an occasional question, and I'm off talking.

I remember once talking for about an hour on the phone and realizing the guy had only asked me questions, or made one word comments, but yet would kinda encourage me to ramble on. So I did, and could have for much longer, lol.

But, w/o the interest from the other person, or if I don't feel comfortable w/ them, I'll actually be super quiet.
