it's a passing fashion statement. i used to like those lower back ones that looked like celtic druid symbol things but then everybody said those were the sign of a ho. *shrugs* now what?? i have no tattoos but they're tough to get off and if somebody decides that you have one that brands you as a ho well aren't you shit outta luck.

    Yeah yeah

I chose my username bc I had just finished reading a novel where Sappho was the main character [Sappho's Leap, if anyone's interested], and it popped into my head. Had I known I'd stick around here, I might have chosen something else ;p

Giving us links to porn, bad forum member. And you really should choose your forum name better, I chose mine for very specific reasons. (<- that was meant lightheartedly, I am not sure that it came accross.)

No way, arbitrarily chosen names that give the wrong impression, rule the world
...the human race will disappear. Other races will appear and disappear in turn. The sky will become icy and void, pierced by the feeble light of half-dead stars. Which will also disappear. Everything will disappear. And what human beings do is just as free of sense as the free motion of elementary particles. Good, evil, morality, feelings? Pure 'Victorian fictions'.

I knew who Sappho was too, then I wondered if the name was somekind of pro-lesbian thing, like you are a huge fan of Sapphos poetry because of the lesbianism. But based on what you write, it didn't make much sense.

About tattoos: More of a turn-off. It would be like comitting to have a mullet for rest of your life, because it happened to be a fad sometime, but probably will look ridicilous in the future. It was a different thing when only like sailors and bikers etc. had tattoos, but now that everyone and their grandma have tattoos, they have lost their point and it's just a fad.

I can't wait to get another tattoo. So long as there's not an excessive amount i find them very attractive.

I don't have a problem with others tattoos but I'd never want one myself because of the permanency of the thing- unless you want to endure a lot of pain and money to have it removed.

As far as it being a turn on or turn off, it depends on the style and location of it. Some are attractive, others are repulsive.

Turn-off. Strong indicator of idiocy and belonging among the lower class intellectually, morally, socially and economically.

    Way to generalize.

I didn't get another one yet, strrng. I have one on my hip now.

I most definitely wouldn't – even on a romantic level. To quote my duelist once again:

Who highlights the crux of the situation: that the intrinsic person precedes any external standard of attractiveness.

This in contrast to idiots like this:

That's interesting. I know that for myself, any sort of external standard, event, etc. could never be the reason for getting a tattoo; I would need it connected to something integral to me, something perennial; otherwise it would feel like 'just a mark.'

Hah. I have no clue what I would (or wouldn't) get at that age. I would hope to have gotten one before then, not to mention hopefully being with someone I care about; but who knows.

In fairness, tattoos can be a reflection of someone's personality.

I actually think Starfall would look pretty attractive with a few, well-placed tattoos.
