Default Help in typing this friend of mine

He's lazy, but extremely active when doing sports. He's intelligent, but he doesn't apply himself, nor he cares about this. He's really quick mentally, but not good at arguing. He has great skill with his hands, and he's great at playing videogames that require a great deal of reactivity and reflexes, like beat'em ups. He reads a lot of mangas. He's not loud, somewhat restrained and shy. When we talk we're extremely comfortable with each other, and there has never been any misunderstading between us (we've been knowing each other for 12 years). He dresses in a sporty and really non-pretentious way, usually in black. Doesn't care about his appearance. Very fast metabolism. We usually agree on everything. He has some kind of passive stance towards life. Really attacched to his pets.

For a second I thought ISTp, but it doesn't sound like a relationship of supervision.

I think he's INTp and you have a good mirror relationship.

Actually, nevermind. I'd say either ISFp or INTp, can't decide which. INTps are usually pretty good at arguing, but I don't see any ISFp being described by default as "mentally quick," even if he/she is smart. Plus, all the ISFps I know are pretty perfectionistic when it comes to doing their best. I wouldn't rule out ENTp, either.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Sweet, I can get gay married for the insurance to FDG's friend.

Yea, the whole pet thing made me settle on ISTp. INTp another option?

ISTp makes sense, but in socionics intertype relationships are as important as the personal descriptions.

I have no doubt that FDG is ENTj, so which would be more likely - that he had such a harmonious relationship with his supervisor during 12 years, or that his friend is actually INTp? I think the latter.

I think "not good at arguing" would point towards an ethical type, but I don't know many INTps.

@MySaviour: INTps also like pets, it's the hidden agenda, just like ISTps.

@gilligan: ISFp is the ENTj's conflictor, so that would be even less likely than ISTp from that angle.

"Not good at arguing" is relative, a base function type tends to think that most people are less good at arguing.

Overall I still think INTp, unless FDG has reasons to consider this unlikely.

ISFp is ruled out, then. How about INFp? NFs have better motor skills than NTs, and you pointed out that he's good at punch-em-ups. I've got one INFp friend in particular who sounds similar on paper to this friend of yours, minus the pets. Not trying to debunk the INTp thing, just offering another option.

INFp is possible, but then he would be FDG's supervisee. Which might not feel uncomfortable for FDG but it might for his friend.

My own approach to typing, when seeing descriptions like that, is to try to paint a mental image of the person as a whole, and then see how it fits the types, rather than do a checklist of individual details.

When reading the description I first thought of ISTp, but INTp also fits and due to the relationship with FDG I find it more likely. I think that the motor skills thing would point towards ISTp rather than INFp.

So FDG, your feeback? INTp, ISTp or perhaps even INFp?

I honestly don't think he's an NT type. With NTs there is this kind of "spark" where we actually really "get" each other, and have the same way of approaching the world. With him his different; our opinions are usually the same, but more because he's not incredibly opinionated; moreover, I don't think he's an N aswell, since I can't really see in him at all a preference for abstract thinking over concrete.

In the end, my final guess is ISFj. That's the only thing that could explain everything, really. There is still, however, the possibility of him being ISTp, since I can't really see an ISTp being much of a supervisor.

Also: he can play videogames for long, long, long hours, he has got an attetion span which is enourmous in comparison to mine with tasks that seem incredibly boring and detail-centered to me. He's really attentive to keep his stuff clean and orderly.

You're right, but I have to specify that our interaction has always been limited to:

    - hanging out
    - playing sports/videogams

Got it. Then I don't think INTp is the best option either.

The first type that came to my mind was ISTp. I'm not sure anymore if I know any ISFjs IRL so I can't say much about that. The only real differences to me were a) I am sometimes argumentative, b) I can sometimes be loud, c) I care about my appearance but not in "I want to look really hot" kind of way. More like "I want to have an appearance that reflects the true mental and physical me" or something. But when among friends I don't care that much about my appearance.
