OK, is this just in Cyclops land, or has anyone else noticed this?

It's my experience that girls who are a little on the chubbier side tend to be more kind hearted, considerate and thoughtful, also friendlier than thin girls.

Dunno why this is, it could be biological, or maybe the fatter girls feel they have to compensate personality wise to be more attractive as people as they are not regarded as being as attractive physically as the thin ones. Maybe it's something like how fat guys are usually funnier, they have to make up with other ways to attract a mate.

It occured to me that maybe the chubby ones, if they lost weight, might become hard-asses like the thin ones, so maybe their personality isn't fixed.

Is it hormonal or mental?

Maybe options are:

1. Date a skinny bitch who's a pain in the ass.
2. Date a fat person who's nice and worth sticking around with.

Of course there are exceptions to this rule i'm sure, but it seems to me to be quite a recurring pattern, almost always the case in round here.

I don't think there's any sort of biological correlation or anything. I think that what people are noticing is actually socialization. A lot of thin women seem bitchier because a lot of them think they're hot shit because society tells them so. A lot of chubbier women are constantly put down by society and are either bitter about it or overly nice to try to compensate for what they see as physical unattractiveness. I find that really lame, and not even true for the most part because I know plenty of guys who like bigger girls. But if you watch TV or movies, it's generally all about thin women.

I agree that, as a general trend, their is no correlation between weight and disposition; however, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that, as Cyclops is saying, sometimes a fat person will be "nicer" because they feel like their physical appearance loses them ground that they have to recover in other ways. I also think that fat people are sometimes bitter because they feel like they've been dealt shitty cards. These are just some plausible explanations for why some people are the way they are; not necessarily sweeping generalizations.

Sure, there are plenty of weight related explantations for reasons that someone who is over weight might behave in one way or another. And all of what you said is valid but I very heavily doubt that any reason a over-weight person has to be bitter, nice, or any other disposition is going to be any more influential or imposing than a reason that some one who is not over-weight has.

For example say a over-weight person was teased in HS, and a non-overweight person was also teased but for non weight related reasons.

Out of those two people, who is more likely to be bitter or nice? It's impossible to tell because you cannot in anyway shape or form base a conclusion on some ones disposition based on size alone.

Well, a girl that doesn't hold herself back excessively with food is less likely to be bitchy because of low blood sugar, excessive self-control, etc.

Basically, what I've found is: if a girl is naturally a bit chubby, but becomes skinny due to hard dieting, she will be kind of bitchy. In this case, the chubby girl that embraces her natural body type will be a generally better person, less inhibited, etc.

However, if a skinny girl is naturally skinny (fast metabolism, etc) - that doesn't lower her chances of being nice w.r.t to the second girl described above.

Now, how does this may tie into Cyclops observation? By adding the fact that girls, on average, tend to be more on the chubby side rather than on the skinny side. So, in a population with equal percentages of chubby and skinny, most of the chubby-s will be naturally so, thus less stressed, anxious and inhibited, while part of the population of the skinny ones would have been naturally chubby. If we add that this part is also likely the most concerned about appearance, and thus most likely to be "out there", the Cyclops observation seems to hold true, even if perhaps the root of the problem is less simple.

And to the guys thinking there is a correlation - you are just showing your own insecurities here.... Maybe it's YOU who are nicer with chubby girls, as in threating them as people and not as sex objects? Maybe the answer you get is more pleasant because of YOUR way of being? Think about it.

Or equally, maybe it's easier to just skip straight past the desirable and unobtainable. The human brain is remarkably easy to reprogram, but doing so tends to leave marks and traces.

Chubby girls may develop a sense of compassion towards others like themselves who have been picked on and deemed uncool because of their appearance. But on the other hand, they can become bitches for a similar reason. Its two sides of the same coin.
