no children were allowed at my wedding. but partly that was because I had no nieces or nephews nor had any of my friends had kids yet. otherwise it might've been different.

I can see why not. Interestingly, I can't think of any weddings i've been at where there is children.

When/if I get married..the bride can decide this one!

I personally won't be having anyone but my closest family members at my wedding.

Probably, if I ever even have one at all.

If I ever get married, I may just skip the wedding entirely. I'd like to get married without fanfare, just sign the papers and that's it. No long hours spent wedding planning, no thousands of dollars spent on an event lasting for a brief amount of time. I'm not big on ceremony anyway.

Something like that would be a likely option, too, depending on circumstances and how I (and my partner) feel at the moment. And if there is a ceremony it won't be a regular one, but something small, inventive and a bit out of the ordinary probably. Conventionality is boring.

I'll add myself to the "no/small wedding" list.

I know SO MANY women in my community who have done this, for whatever reason. And it's really annoying! I mean because once you have children your name is different from the family name and it gets confusing and creates more names that everyone has to learn. Unless there's some good reason for it (like you're already a well-known author or actress), why not simplify?

Solution: husband changes his name. Just to screw with social convention ;D

Yeah, I was wondering about that possibility.

this is what my brother and SIL did. Actually they both changed their last name to a combined version of both of their names (not hyphenated). So if they ever had kids, the kids would have the same last name. I think it's a perfectly fine solution.

Yeah, I think I knew some people who've done that. Or at least I'm sure I've heard of.

Aw, I love kids at weddings. It's so much fun to watch them out on the dance floor. Someone brought all these crazy hats, and the kids were all trading them around and dancing. My sister also had a candy buffet full of sparkly foil-wrapped goodies, and you could just see the kids' eyes bug out when they saw it. They were in heaven. I swear they're going to talk about her wedding for the next 5 years.

That being said, I'm glad I didn't have to take one of those home, 'cause I'm sure their blood sugar was through the roof. lol

I also want a petting zoo.
Awesome! Except the goats might try to eat their dress clothes. Pesky critters.

I got into a fight at a wedding with the bride's son, I was ten at the time and really had no clue what the big deal was about. I have also worked at 4-5 weddings, and they are the absolute worst events to cater.
