Default Question about the socionic temperaments

I was looking over the socionic temperaments at Wikisocion Temperament - Wikisocion

I identify the most with IJ with IP a close second. However, I identify with EJ the least, not EP. Shouldn't an IJ identify the least with EP since that's their opposite temperament?

Then I realized that IJ and EP are both static so that could explain my ranking, especially if my static preference is stronger than my rational preference.

Can one least identify with a temperament that's not supposedly opposite to their own? Is that possible or am I just way off base in my assessment of socionic temperaments?

I actually identify alot with IP, actually.

Some, naturally, would argue that it's because I'm IP.

Anyway, I don't know if I'm as perpetually busy as EJ is supposed to be, and I'm basically "off" burning through a meaningless project (like "level my mage indefinitely") until something comes up.

That's the way I understand it. The way I see temperaments, when not being "themselves", IJs are more likely to be EP-like than EJ-like.

Yeah, I think we act like our "opposite" temperament more than the other two because we have a function in our ego that that "is" that temperament.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

club could have some interaction here. Since you are a static researcher, you have more in common with the other type of static researcher than with a dynamic researcher. Also since EJ is the temperment of your dual, your complement, I would think it would make less sense if you were closer to EJ than EP

I never act like any temperament but IP, and even in it's active extremes it has commonality with EJ, but it is still IP. Behavior all relates back to IMs, depending upon which one is dominant and which one is creative. You're not going to have a dom for instance fit into the IP temperament, even if they show some stereotypical behaviors. It's not the behaviors that explain the temperament, it's the temperament that estimates how in some specific instance the behavior will be.

Ep and Ij are both static, Ej and Ip are both dynamic.

Being Ji Ep I exhibit Ij traits occasionally (being very rigid, jerky motions, stubborness and conciseness, methodicalness, "get to the point mentality", etc), but Its more like I'm an Ij light bulb that is broken. I flicker from dull to blazing light randomly and my energy will wax and wane depending on my mood.
