    Default Silly Quadra Re-names

    The current names sound neutral and useful, sure, but they don't tell you anything about the "vibe" of the quadra.

    So, here are some more descriptive names I came up with after reading about quadra group behavior:

    Alpha = Casuals
    Beta = Roughnecks
    Gamma = Elitists
    Delta = Craftsmen

    Like these names? What would you name the Quadras?

    Not quite. Elitist for Gamma is way off, and the rest don't really capture the Quadras as a whole, imo.

    I think these names actually take away from the quadras by only being able to describe one aspect a piece. The concept of quadras is complex enough to not be able to be captured with single adjectives. Even Tereg's descriptions there is overlap with the words used and what the quadras are about (collectivists could describe more than just delta, etc...)

    I like the age analogy descriptors, just in case some people haven't seen them:

    Alpha = children
    Beta = adolescents
    Gamma = adults
    Delta = elderly

    @ tereg: what do you mean by Beta Industrialists? I think industrialism is more Gamma ( + )
    yeah, I always liked the age thing too. It works pretty well both for describing them and for roughly explaining them to other people.

    the idea of this is hilarious. What does roughnecks mean? haha. I like that I get to be a craftsman!! lol.

    Maybe types of dining...

    Alpha: Icecream pops at the circus
    Gamma: Family get together (with a tablecloth)
    Beta: Appetizers at a sparkly venue rooftop bar with a humanitarian artist's sculptures as chairs (but only because the other bar isn't open yet)
    Delta: Dive bar with some chicken we snuck in (in my handbag) so it will even out w/ the expensive martini lounge we're going to in a second.

    Basically what is implied by roughnecks. It's a similar concept.

    Now if you're talking about like the Industrial Revolution and like architectural and technological advancements implied by "industrialism", then I can see how that would be more Gamma.

    I totally agree. And I totally disagree with calling Deltas "craftsmen." "Craftsman" is another name for ISTps.

    I suppose so. I was thinking more along the lines of Freemasons and skilled workers, etc, compared to Roughnecks (unskilled group laborers).

    I voted elitist on the other forum, and I am not a Gamma. Delta now reminds me of that young girl named Esther from the new Rob Zombie movie coming to theatres, which I won't see by the way.

    Sure, for Beta
    Individualists... yes in the more personal and moral sense, systematics... not feeling this one.
    Yeah Delta can be pretty collectivistic (just look at this forum), and free spirit is an okay one too (shows a dualistic quality to aristocratic quadras in general)

    Industrialism does work well for Beta and slightly less well for Delta. The event has aristocratic connotations, even if it actually only evens hierarchies over-all.

    Well warrior-librarian, supposedly Water is Gamma's element and Earth is Delta's although it'd make more sense due to quadra conflict and element oppositions.

    Just going on sheer vibes alone in no particular order:

    Alpha: Sky Blue, sapphire, yellow, green,
    Beta: Cyan, White, Red, gold
    Gamma: Black, silver, opaque, grey (mostly, no colors came to mind)
    Delta: Bronze, brown, blue, dark green

    Oh if we're doing color association with quadras, I'd go

    Alpha: yellow, orange, pink, neon
    Beta: black, white, ash
    Gamma: green, red
    Delta: tan, bay, chestnut, nutbrown, almond, russet, roan, sorrel, sepia, tawny, ochre, puce, terra-cotta, beige, taupe, ecru, dust, drab, dun, henna, khaki, umber, light brown, auburn, soil, brown... (Edit: you know... neutral colors)

    hah i thought sepia for Delta too.

    Also I noticed that your opposing quadra is black, white, and ash and mine is black, silver, opaque, and grey.

    Perhaps the opposing quadra gives us such dull vibes?

    It's not that I think they're dull.

    The ash color to me has more of a gritty, mettlesome characteristic to me rather than lack of color or life. Like dirt and oil stains or something (I was trying to think of a color that captures the essence of an industrial worker). The black and white are pretty much what they imply: a hard, clear, distinct, no-middle-ground color.

    Uhg I dislike these stereotypes quite alot

    Actual Quadra political movements:

    Original Socialist movement: Delta (Religious/nostalgic throwback to feudal-aristocratic times)

    Marxian Communism: Alpha (Marx was Ne INTj, hailed it as "scientific socialism")

    Communism as practiced: Beta (I can't think of an exception)

    Early 20th century fascism: Beta

    New-deal/Keynesian capitalism: Delta

    Christian Fundamentalist conservatism: Delta-Alpha

    Contemporary socialism: Alpha-Delta

    "Freedom" movements:

    Objectivism: Primarily Beta, flavored as Beta

    20th century libertarianism: Gamma

    Contemporary libertarianism/minarchism: Gamma-Delta

    Collectivist anarchism: Alpha-Delta

    Anarcho-capitalism (Austrian school): Gamma

    Neo-Mutualism/Agorism: Alpha

    You've been a Delta for too long.

    Lol, I was just kidding with that list... (I'm more of an environmentalist). And I don't think that Alphas are socialists. But I do think that socialism/communism is more Beta. And... I'd say that Karl Marx was more of a Beta.

    I mean, these are some of the questions that are answered by him, and his interests sound more Beta, with a focus on Se, and Ni.

    Anyway, I don't think that political beliefs are really type/quadra-related.

    although I'm not sure that abbie was necessarily saying the we should destroy the Earth. If she was, I have to admit that she is one of type of Christians who, imo, are very much missing the point on that matter and frankly scare the bejesus out of me because of the unnecesary suffering that sort of belief would cause. In my opinion, the destruction or Earth is up to God, not us.

    just to be clear, I'm not trying to put words in your mouth Abbie. I'm just explaining the sorts of Christians who scare me and my own look at that topic.
