Switching to IEI

Because internet isn't interactive enough, no matter how advanced anyone thinks it is to this day. Personality is clearest in real life circumstance.

+1 Akra; I'm definitely less inhibited here than irl, and, especially with the help of socionics, i can essentially manipulate interactions with people, and tend to do so rather naturally, to the point that rl interactions arent really a good judge of my type, the exception to this being my own natural reactions to people.

Not necessarily. I put on a mask far more in real life than here, and I know my true self comes through more easily here. It's an individual thing, something only the individual can know and a blanket assessment that it's always RL > internet doesn't work in practice.

Yes that is true actually. However I know a lot of people who are much easier to get to know in real life, and on the internet they seem extremely reserved.

I think you guys are saying 2 different things: mimosa is trying to say that fe subs are more interested in having money and making it, while ifmd is saying that ni subs tend to be better at managing money and think about their actual resource management more. Which works well, really: if you make more, you dont have to think about it as much, but if you manage well, why go out of your way to make more if it doesnt have intrinsic value to you?

heh, nah, temperamemt ring theory works fine for me. However in this case i think we need to look more plainly at what the theory tells us instead of making hypothetical statistical projections: when looking at ieis, fe subs are more likely to be interested in money for the sake of status or making enough that they simply dont have to worry about it, whereas ni subs are more interested in money for its own sake or long-term financial security, and tend to be better at managing it

We need a better subtype theory. One that allows for IEIs of the EIE subtype, for example (it will include juju, scarlettlux, glamourama, strrrng, you, me and all the other borderline Beta NFs. ).

It's a good idea -- it's actually what Ashton has attempted w/ Socionix -- using temperament as the deciding factor of one's type, rather than, say, Model A's predictions of inter-type relations. (E.g. this is why Ashton types me INFp rather than ENFj.)

It would be a great idea if the inter-type relations worked out--they don't yet--but it's been a good effort regardless.

The way I found my Socionics type, once and for all, is by dating my dual. Compared with dating my activity relation (SLE,) dating my dual (LSI) was much more comfortable and fulfilling.



Gilly, if you really want to find out your real type, find a SLE and LSI--any will do--and go out with them for awhile... (Granted, it's sort of a 'people experiment' of dubious ethics.) Everything fell into place really quickly for me after dating a LSI.
