    Default E and I connection

For a long time I've been thinking that "I" types have secondary "E" types and vice versa.

    Here is the list:

    INTj-ESTj
    INFj-ESFj
    ISTj-ENTj
    ISFj-ENFj

    INTp-ENFp
    INFp-ENTp
    ISFp-ESTp
    ISTp-ESFp

    What do you think?

shouldn't it be mirror combinations? Like FeSi and SiFe? NeTi and TiNe?

From a different perspective, yes. But in terms of rationality and irrationality, I would say the thing above.

How is an ENTp anything like an INFp? I'm not seeing the pattern here... perhaps writing it out in terms of the order of functions would make it more clear.

ENTps have + and so do INFps.

The INFp's hidden agenda is the ENTp's second function and vice versa.

They are quite similar. See how well the INFp description describes you and tell me what you think.

All those pairs are relationships of illusion, if I'm not mistaken.

So they have each other's PoLR as 8th function, and they share the creative function of their duals, etc

But I don't see how that makes them "secondary" types.

If you look at the ISTj description do you see similarities in it within yourself?

I know quite a few ISTjs, it is one of the types I'm most familiar with.

There are of course similarities, just as you can find similarities with your mirror, contrary, quasi-identical, look-alike, etc.

The main similarities, to state the obvious, are on rationality over irrationality, and thinking over feeling. That is precisely where the most successful relationships of illusion are based. But I think that the differences are at least as important as the similarities, in the case of ISTjs vs ENTj, again to state the obvious, each one's PoLR is a fairly strong function of the other, and in my case.

The lack of in ISTjs is painfully obvious to ENTjs, just as I know that the lack of is obvious to ISTjs. ENTjs and ISTjs can get along but the they also can irritate each other to no end.

If I were to speak of a secondary type, I'd say that the most obvious choice would be the mirror, not the illusionary.

I can identify alot with INFps, I find. I have plenty "pondering in repose of" moments, especially when I feel a bit more F-y. I think I was alot more like an INFp when I was a kid; in fact, I tested as one on MBTI when I was around 12.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

No two types are really close at all IMO.

And where the hell is this "mirrors are similar" bull coming from? Am I the only one who thinks that they are very different types?

I certainly find INTps more similar to myself than ISTjs. That is not inconsistent with INTps being a different type.

I support such idea, that no two types are similar.

Maybe in mentality yes, I find a lot of common ground with ENTps (my mirror), but when it comes to behaviours and such, exterior expression of that mind frame, it is concretized in different ways

Probably the similarity in the order of functions. But I agree, they're very different types.

Anyway, I don't think I'm much like an ENTp...

Actually, I think this makes sense.

The ENTp description on Socionics is almost entirely me, as well as the INFp one. I also know people in real life who are one type and yes, they do relate to their mirror... it's very interesting..

It's like they can become that type in certain situations.

If I represent everyone, then yes.

I thought that was the point. Mirrors and ID have the same core but express it in different ways.

The Ni in ENTp's and INFp's is similar imo.

    Interesting though.
