    Probably mostly Black Metal bands. I know just as many.

    This song is not by a Norwegian artist (nor is it mainstream or popular) but it's about Norwegian Lillies, and I quite adore it.

    lol Krae. I have noticed this sort of thing too. Everyone looking to fit into something even if it is classed as 'different'.

    Woe betide the above person you describe who secretly likes lady gaga, that is a definite skeleton in their closet! :-)

    I own Flunk's album Personal Stereo. It's probably my favourite of theirs. The other two albums are okay, although I had to delete them to make way for more and better music.

    Biosphere sounds cool, can you recommend an album to check out?

    Ulver FTW. I like their latest album, especially the first song:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz2kakAqtK4]YouTube - Ulver - Eos (The Fountain)[/ame]
    (I really like the use of The Fountain in this video)

    It's incredibly dark and depressing, but also immensely beautiful.

    I also like this track:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzqxr7WFzuI]YouTube - Ulver, lost in moments[/ame]

    However, my favourite thing to come out of Norway are Röyksopp. I think their latest album is the worst, although I like everything they've done. Here's my selection of my absolute favourite tracks by them:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIyMPZ_s-7M]YouTube - Röyksopp 'Sparks'[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJNdCus-4cg]YouTube - Royksopp/40 Years Back/Come[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1Ul73QM0Kw]YouTube - Royksopp - Triumphant[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsOJYRVSoGA]YouTube - röyksopp - What Else Is There ? [Original][/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTFPIwS5DL8]YouTube - Royksopp- Alpha male[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcFff0Og51Y]YouTube - Royksopp - Someone like me[/ame]

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esH7lxBCis4]YouTube - Royksopp-Dead To The World[/ame]

    I think what I love most about Röyksopp is that much of their music makes me think of dusty old attics in Gothic places in mid-Winter darkness.

    Oops, I was thinking Scandinavian, my mistake. Yeah, The Knife is rather experimental, I only like a couple songs from them. But that particular song I like a lot Boards of Canada I have to be in the right mood to listen to, except Dayvan Cowboy, which is awesome all the time. And I need to listen to more Royksopp, I've been meaning to.

    Yes, it is a fuckin' track and a half.

    To be honest, I'm generally in the mood for BoC a lot of the time, haha. There are few occasions where I'm not.

    Cool, cheers. I will get Substrata and then if I like it I'll get more.

    I didn't realise they did a soundtrack for Man With A Movie Camera. The Cinematic Orchestra's album Man With A Movie Camera is immense. I haven't seen the film though. Apparently there is a really expensive limited edition film with the CO soundtrack.

    The understanding - no comment.
    In a good or bad way?

    Latest album.. ehh, don't know. I should listen to it again but nothing caught my ear.
    Agreed, although after the track "Röyksopp Forever", it gets better.

    FWIW, Röyksopp and Biosphere are both from Tromsø.

    I know very little about Norwegian music. Anyway, a Norwegian friend of mine loves this group "Madrugada" (it's the Spanish word for "dawn")

    Thanks Mimosa. Here's a song by someone I wasn't aware was actually Norwegian. Trumpet solo rocks.
