That's too much of a generalization I guess. I CAN emotionally connect with men it's just.... well, harder. It has little to do with sexuality and more to do with gender roles, how everybody is raised.
It's not like society actually encourages men to be all...emotional and sensitive with each other. Far from it. And most men don't *want* to do that either, I don't think. Somebody told me that it's different in europe in other eastern countries, as far as male homosexuality goes. It can still be discouraged in places, but not like it is the west still. Enhhhh. That's half right. I'm really okay though (I think), don't read *too* much into what I say here. What I'm discussing are obvious long-term issues though and not something that I just farted up in my head, even though it may appear otherwise.The vunerability of the situation has more or less dawned on him. Perhaps the name vunerability escapes him - he's got such a love-hate relationship with the thing it can be hard to identify when it crops up. It scares the living shit out of him. This is why you see the neuroticism channelled to other places. The reality of vunerability leaves him feeling incredibly insecure, so his basic response is a counterphobic thing which forces that pent up energy outward.
