Kristina, I understand the 'gay' joke to kinda lighten the mood, but don't ruin the moment: This is actually great for Sean to be able to apologize by himself like this and make amends and not cut people out by his estp porn star-like impulsiveness and aggression.
Which I find hot, as I've always found men that get angry and protect people way hot. (well I'm an infp so it makes sense that would be something that complements me.)
This might sound condescending, but if you really knew Sean you would understand how cool it was for him to do this, and how proud of him we are. It's not 'nice.' Nice sounds so bland, safe and boring. It's growth on Sean's part.
