    Default Alpha love styles

    Love Dating Styles

Just as with Gulanzon's thread, but for Alphas...

I'd be skeptical of anyone who thought Mania was their natural love dating style, but feel free to declare yourself a Maniac on the side.

EDIT: These ain't love... they're dating styles; ways of picking mates. The word "love" should be reserved for other purposes. Again, call these "dating styles." (not to imply that none of these involve love)

It'd prolly be eros and mania on the side.

Storge seems pretty nice too. The name is gay tho.

    Nah Allie.

Ya see... thats why I chose 3 of them and others also chose multiples or said "mostly"

and yes I can imagine times when I used each of them (except pragma and agape).

But I chose the predominant three.

Allie, do those categories describe in a general way behaviors of various people or not? Of course people are more complex than this, but what you're missing is that complex things can fit in very simple categories.

Obviously some of those descriptions will describe your recent thoughts better than others, even if they aren't necessarily the way you'll live the rest of your life.

    Why bother?
Yes, I do gain understanding. That is in fact how I understand everything - my whole thought process. As you're apparently a Gamma SF, it's unlikely to be of any use to you; you're welcome to ignore it.

Allie if you don't like categories then what are you doing on a socionics forum?

we Boxx stuff in all the time.

and im not saying Fi's can't be interested or understand.

but give it a rest. we know you don't like it.

Im not a huge fan either, but people's romantic styles do differ as socionics explains.

sure, but utility is subjective. Something prodoctive to one might be unproductive to another.

Incidentally, I doubt Allie would consider more than half of our boxes examples of love. Eros, Storge and Agape, yes; but Ludus? That's the player. Pragma? Look over the properties of various people and choose the one most useful to you? And Mania - that's like a random obsession. It probably wouldn't qualify either.

What do these have in common? They are all relationships that draw people together in some way related to sex... either to have sex or to get married. Ludus seems the least likely to lead to marriage, whereas Storge has the weakest pull toward sex (but when people get married, they normally figure they may as well have sex). In those designations I'm leaving out Mania, which doesn't seem to have much chance of achieving anything.

    Other opinions?

I'm half Greek and the there are only 4 types of love.
The rest are not love at all.

Here are the real ones with the proper Greek meanings behind them perfectly translated so nothing is lost.

Agape: The love of good principles
    Storge: Friendship
    Philadelphia: Brotherly Love
    Eros: Romantic Love

I am happy to answer and questions about these descriptions and prove their validly.

In the original context of this thread, "love" is used in the modern sense of romance, or sex. As you use it, "love" is... as it should be, actually. I suppose the "love" in the original post is better called "dating styles." I shall edit accordingly.
