Default ILEs: we are mentally ill.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histrionic

The essential feature of histrionic personality disorder is an excessive pattern of emotionality and attention-seeking behavior.
    SOUND FAMILIAR?

    EDIT

For diagnosis, five or more of the following:

    1) Is uncomfortable in situations in which he or she is not the center of attention
    2) Interaction with others is often characterized by inappropriate sexually seductive or provocative behavior
    3) Displays rapidly shifting and shallow expression of emotions (sounds like EP to me)
    4) Consistently uses physical appearance to draw attention to self
    5) Has a style of speech that is excessively impressionistic and lacking in detail (-valuing? Lolol.)
    6) Shows self-dramatization, theatricality, and exaggerated expression of emotion (-valuing again!)
    7) Is suggestible, i.e., easily influenced by others or circumstances
    8) Considers relationships to be more intimate than they actually are. ( PoLR bears)

As you can see, ILEs meet four of the minimum five. It is known that we're massive attention junkies.

Gentlemen. We are now at war.

You're absolutely right. Histrionic personality disorder applies to every single ILE in the world, but other types are rarely, if ever, afflicted.

The question is whether that would make you feel special, or victimized.

    Not quite my point.

I'm just saying there's a large overlap between ILE personality and HPD.

I'm just saying you seem to make a lot of subjective generalizations that are presented as objective facts.

EDIT: Not that some of them aren't interesting... and maybe I'm taking you too literally.

Sorry, that's poor communication on my part.

I'm just doing my thing and making crazy correlations in a frantic attempt to spark discussion.

These are meant to be taken semi-seriously

    Uh.

Ever thought maybe it was just your individual personality that fit Histrionic? I have some histrionic tendencies as well, but it's just frustrating to see you attribute that to ILEs -- I do believe MANY types, in particular EIEs and SEEs may have much greater 'overlap' (as you put it) with the Histrionic disorder citerion.

Excellent point! But if we're using a pathological model, I'm far closer to borderline.

So, basically, all Cluster B personality disorders seem to be misinterprulating quadra-valued .

    Why?

Well, who writes the DSM? A secretive lot who gather around and talk.

    Sound familiar? It should.

    Researchers.

And worse, I would suspect the darker kind...

    Gamma NTs.

    What next? Pathologized ?

    Oh, wait.

Yeah, you seem to attribute a lot of individual things to being ILE that aren't really related. Keep in mind that socionics is primarily concerned with cognitive functions and behaviour is predominantly a circumstantial by-product with a lot of other external influences.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!

ILEs are not HPD's but NPD's!!! More specifically, cerebral NPD's.

Dramatic behavior is a thing common to all Cluster B personality disorders.

    Geez!
