    Default Si-heads and Ni-mindedness

Somewhere between bee's comments and my own observations of other -heads, a pattern emerged in my mind...

Leading seems to have very little difficulty with its Role function, .

My question, then, is: "As introverted functions seem to behave as passive receptors, is an introvert's role inherently less taxing, while still carrying a degree of lessened sensitivity?"

Further question for thought, directed at my beloved mpletons (j/k <3): do you have a -ego parent or guardian?

Here's where definitions and standard delineations often get blurred in type literature.

The real "receptor" functions are the perceiving ones: Ne, Ni, Se, Si.

Introverts, by definition, are taxed by excessive external stimuli. Yet extraverts are likewise taxed by lack of external stimuli.

    Define "receptor".

    Define "perceiving".

As far as I can see, rational functions can receive inputs.

    Yeah, they all can, really.

    Receptor ... Perceiving ...
-- functions which are the most changeable. They adapt according to conceptual or physical frameworks.

    Gotcha.

In that case, then, how would role be "taxed by lack of external stimuli"?

    Operative word being seems.

You are entitled to an opinion, which I greatly value, but only if you care to use it constructively for the sake of this discussion.

The need to be able to exert influence over a situation, perhaps? Hence, reinforcing the type's "independent" nature. If you can't contribute/influence the outcome, why participate?

As for, "Leading seems to have very little difficulty with its Role function, " ... consider the rings of Supervision. If SEI really does "supervise" the EIE, creative Ni is pushed out of the ego loop. The SEI can trump EIE's Ni every time. How can they stay one step ahead of their supervisee? Perhaps the SEI does indeed possess a certain level of mastery over Ni; they just don't make it their primary focus.

This is all just speculation on my part, though. What do you think?
