    from T*** about Felisha:

"I went and watched her audition video: holy shit! She does not come off well at all. She basically said she liked being in aviation school because she was the only hot woman there (all the others were apparently "butch"). In explaining how it worked to her advantage to be in such a male environment, she says (and this is verbatim) "and there are some attractive females there and I'm friends with almost all of them."

    And... to Alla Wartenberg then:

"She came in as a beautiful, smart Russian girl and she gets exposed as a not-so-innocent, beautiful, smart Russian girl." .Donald Trump
    From her website.

    Something interesting quickly comes up:
SEPTEMBER 12--The newest season of NBC's "The Apprentice" doesn't debut until next week, but we've already made our pick for Donald Trump's next flunky. Meet Alla Wartenberg, whose network bio describes her as a 31-year-old Russian expat who has made millions running a chain of Las Vegas spas. Left off Alla's online c.v. is her work at the Palomino Club, a Sin City strip joint where the female talent works topless and bottomless. Wartenberg (nee Kosova) once hustled $40 lap dances under the pseudonym Ecstasy (just "X" to her friends). It was during her Palomino days that Wartenberg developed a "pretty platonic relationship" with a regular named Robert Acremant, a California businessman who would pay her between $500-1500 (and sometimes more) for an evening's worth of dances and company in the private Lipstick Lounge. She occasionally would have dinner with Acremant, who once gave her a pair of diamond earrings and also provided Wartenberg with about $500 to gamble. It was this courtship of Wartenberg, investigators would later contend, that drove a desperate Acremant--who needed money to spend on his favorite Vegas stripper--to plot the 1995 robbery of two Oregon women. That attempted heist ended with Acremant killing the duo. He also murdered Scott George, a California friend, in a second botched 1995 robbery bid. Convicted in the slayings, Acremant has been sentenced to death in both California and Oregon, where he is currently imprisoned. According to investigators, Acremant considered Wartenberg his girlfriend, while she saw him as nothing more than a cash machine, a pleasant mark with whom she shared her phone number, but no intimacies. According to Wartenberg, during Acremant's last Vegas visit, in December 1995, he pulled a handgun and stun gun on her as they were parked in a car. As she testified in August 2002 at Acremant's trial for the George killing, he was "panicking and freaking out, telling me that he, you know, he was very upset with me because I never loved him. I just used him for money." Wartenberg escaped unscathed, though she told jurors she was left "emotionally injured and scarred for life" by Acremant, who "led me to believe that he was either in the mob or...one of those big business guys, FBI, I don't know." Below you'll find excerpts from her Tulare County Superior Court testimony, during which Wartenberg spoke of her stripper days and her killer client. (15 pages)

    http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0912051alla1.html

    Quoting T***:
"So, she was raised in ritzy Santa Barbara, went to an exclusive prep school, had already started buying and selling real estate before she was 20, and then decided she wanted to be a Vegas stripper, who gets named in a robbery/homicide case, and despite putting all that in the past, and having now achieved a degree of personal and material success, which includes a family with four young children, wants to risk it all by appearing on national tv as a Donald Trump flunky wannabe, vying for a job that'll pay her less than she's already making as a real estate developer/spa owner?"

    And then her NBC interview:
Alla, 31, a self-made multi-millionaire, owns a chain of upscale Dolphin Court Salons & Day Spas in Las Vegas. She also builds million dollar custom mansions for resale and invests avidly in commercial and residential land. Alla was born and raised in Chisinau, capital of Moldavia, former Republic of the Soviet Union and moved to the U.S.A. with her parents in 1988 to fulfill the "American Dream." At age 19, she purchased her first building, and at age 23 she was one of the youngest pioneers of the spa boom. Recently, she negotiated one of her most lucrative business deals by selling the spa and the salon she owned at a star studded Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nev. Encouraged by her celebrity clientele, Alla has been developing her own European-derived skin care and hair care lines. She successfully balances a happy marriage, motherhood to her four children, and a thriving career in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.

When will you consider yourself "a success"?
True success to me is a steady progression toward the improvement of life quality and an ability to avoid stagnancy. Success is experiencing constant growth emotionally, spiritually, socially and financially, and having fun and enthusiasm while doing it.

I am considered to be "successful" by society's measures. I am healthy, happy, wealthy, and I am in a position to choose my own path in life. I have the ways, the means, the guts, and the time to control my future. I have no boundaries or limitation to what I can achieve. My dreams become reality.

What I value most in life are the people surrounding me - my family, a small circle of loyal friends, and a number of dedicated key professionals I trust and work with.

I will consider myself a success when I know that all my four children have grown up to value and appreciate life the way I do. I want them to experience love, laughter, passion, and fun in life, but to do it the "right" way. I want them to have a keen sense of right and wrong. I want them to be willful enough to resist temptations, and to face and overcome the fear and failures that life tests us with. I will consider myself a success when I celebrate my 50th wedding anniversary to my wonderful husband. I will consider myself a success when I can run seven miles a day at the age of seventy. I will consider myself a success when I have traveled the world and have experienced a multitude of cultures. I set very high goals for my "success," and I am determined to achieve them.

How would you describe your leadership style?
My leadership style is assertive and results driven. I value loyalty the most. I lead by example. I am extremely hands on. I am firm but fair. I am demanding but rewarding. I push harder than most. I believe in building people up and giving them "wings". I don't hold grudges. I don't tolerate excuses. I demand and get respect. My expectations are set very high and not just for my employees but for myself as well. I am a bull's eye shooter.
First eliminate every possible source of error. Thence success is inevitable.

    Part 2:

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
I face my challenges head on, and I learn from them. I don't soak, contemplate or second-guess myself. I am a communicator. Overcoming challenges gracefully and victoriously is as routine to me as waking up in the morning.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
The most important qualities in order to succeed in life are the four "P"s: Perseverance, passion, personality, and patience.

Success is about knowing what you want and having the "internal drive" in high gear at all times. It is about learning to overcome obstacles and getting up after falling down. Rejection and failure are the stepping-stones to success. Perseverance makes you unstoppable.

You must have passion and the understanding that "getting there" isn't half the fun - it is most of it. Passion is contagious, and it persuades other people to follow your lead. Passion is your commitment to your future.

Personality is key. Making an impact, expressing an opinion, taking a chance, sparking controversy - all these traits make you memorable. Successful people are memorable. Patience: the saying "if it was easy everyone would be doing it" rings so true when discussing success. True success is achieving longevity. Usually, a fast-and-furious start leads to a similar ending. Patience is focus. Patience is knowing that true success requires time and endurance.

What's more important: college education or real-world experience?
I can't say that one is more important than the other. The verdict really varies on a case-by-case basis. In my career I have met and employed people with the highest level of education who were absolutely invaluable and also those who were a liability.

In my case I have been able to gain financial independence without a formal college education. Granted, I attended one of the best private college-prep boarding schools in Santa Barbara, California, and I also got accepted to a very prestigious business university back east. However, my entrepreneurial thirst overshadowed any desire for higher education.

It all goes back to having passion, good old common sense, and a creative edge. Any trade I encounter along my path, I dive into with an eagerness to learn. I study, I research, I ask questions. I don't rely on the professionals I employ to be the experts. I want to be as informed and as knowledgeable as they are. I never allow myself to be in the dark.

College education is an integral part of a professional career for doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc. In my opinion, college education is simply an ability to develop discipline and patience for an aspiring entrepreneur. Luckily, those qualities were bred in me since childhood. I don't like to preach or impose my opinion on this particular subject on other people - if you choose to go to college, do it if it is what YOU want to do, not your parents, your spouse, or other influential people surrounding you. Does lack of a college education limit and handicap you from being successful? Not in my opinion.

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
It is hard for me to evaluate people I don't personally know. Television can't capture the multifaceted aspects of each personality. Judging strictly from the show, I see Bill from Apprentice One as a charismatic, level headed, attractive guy who would probably be eaten alive and outsmarted in business by somebody like Jennifer M. in Apprentice Two (By the way, I think she should have won).

Kelly seems well disciplined and intelligent, yet his personality is a bit too dry for me. I like character and spark, and in my opinion Kelly lacks them.

Kendra is a shocker to me. But yet again, look at the cast. She is the best of the worst. She does seem articulate and driven, but certainly doesn't have the "it" factor. I wish her luck, but I think she is in over her head.

It is certainly easy to be critical of other people, but I feel justified because I am equally critical of myself.

What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice?
It seems like with every season the tasks get more challenging and more diverse; therefore, the stakes are higher as well. I learned to never wink at Mr. Trump as Erin did. I learned not to cry in the boardroom like Chris did. I learned that it is important to stay awake on a task if it is not completed - a mistake Tana and Craig made.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George or Carolyn, and why?
Donald Trump, of course. I love his blatant honesty, passion for his "brand," and his shameless attitude. I have a "billion" questions for him. His advice would be priceless.

    What is your favorite music?
I don't listen to heavy metal. I am somewhat selective on rap and country, but everything else goes. As long as it has a great beat, and I can dance to it, I love it.

    What are your favorite books?
I love reading autobiographies and tell-all books. One of my most favorite business books is Who Moved My Cheese? I read a lot of books on nutrition and exercise as well.

What are your favorite TV shows?
I watch OC and Desperate Housewives. I also like E! True Hollywood Story, American Idol, Law & Order, and the Apprentice, of course.

    What are your favorite movies?
I am truly a movie junkie. I see EVERY movie that comes out. It is impossible for me to have a few favorites, but some of the movies that left a lasting impression on me and ones I would recommend are:

American Pie One and Two, Legally Blonde One and Two, White Chicks, Old School, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Wedding Crashers, Legends of the fall, The Patriot, Titanic, Braveheart, Erin Brockovich, A Beautiful Mind, The Notebook, Gladiator, The Sixth Sense, Troy, The Aviator, The Phantom of the Opera, Catch me if you can, Fantastic Four, Spider Man, The Incredibles
, Shark Tale, Finding Nemo, Shrek One and Two.
First eliminate every possible source of error. Thence success is inevitable.

Funny, my good Ni doesn't sense anything to psychoanalyze in those posts.

Just sounds like she's basically a typical American te-valuer.

She has effectively made herself into somebody you can't really argue with. And where the fun is that?

Also if I met this donald trump, I would probably pee in his face. He pretends life is serious and puts people in situations. Then when they cry, they pan to the camera- but what they're going through isn't actually really emotional, it's stupid. It's vapidity disguising as being 'emotional' and 'provocative.' Actually no, I shouldn't be mad at trump I should be mad at the people right? Is that the point? I don't know anymore.

I like her comments about the 'It' factor though.

@Bullets: I apologize for any confusion. As of yet, I have mainly stored in this thread the material for further analysis. The analysis itself follows later on.

We have two candidates left I think, the finalists:

    Rebecca Jarvis

Rebecca, 23, was named "One of 20 Teens Who Will Change the World" by Teen People magazine in February 2000 and was awarded a Point of Light by President Clinton. She graduated with honors from the University of Chicago, earning degrees in economics and pre-law. As a Chicago-based investment banker, she structured mergers and acquisitions, as well as equity and debt transactions. Prior to that, she traded short-term interest rate options on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London. Outside of business, Rebecca founded a non-profit organization, raising over $750,000 to support disenfranchised children. In conjunction with this effort, she lobbied state and federal government officials, speaking at a wide range of national conferences and sharing the stage with Al Gore and Colin Powell, among others. She also reported on-air, wrote and helped produce hard news, features, and entertainment segments for a weekly show on an NBC affiliate in her hometown of Minneapolis. She is currently a financial journalist in Chicago.

When will you consider yourself "a success"?
I already consider myself a success. Of course, I'm always striving for more - seeking to meet new people, challenges, and experiences - but I'm extremely happy with where I am in life.

I'm 23 years old: I've founded a non-profit to help children, worked with Colin Powell and Al Gore, graduated with honors and two degrees from a wonderful university where I met interesting people and professors and studied fascinating subjects, traded short-term interest rates on a trading floor in London, traveled the world, seen behind boardroom doors and executed marquee transactions as an investment banker, and now I'm a financial journalist asking sources the tough questions readers want to know.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I strive for respect as a leader. Respect can be hard won if you're leading individuals who don't respect themselves. I maintain certain ideals that I will not compromise - honesty, integrity, loyalty - but I'm also not afraid to compromise when it's warranted. I seek qualified and intelligent input when making decisions and ask experts a lot of questions. I'll never pretend to know all the answers, but if I instinctively think a particular decision or action is appropriate, I tend to trust my instincts because they're usually right.

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
Challenges are a fact of life. Obviously, each unique situation compels a unique response. In every case, however, I strive to be honest, frank, and compassionate.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
There's no such thing. A number of people with millions of different qualities and traits are successful, because there are a million different paths to "success" (and a million different definitions of what makes one successful).

What's more important: college education or real-world experience?
This is a silly question. Both college education and real-world experience are important. I say, "go for both, enjoy each, test the theories you learn in the classroom in your real-world experiences, and remember that people who err on one side or the other of this question tend to be lacking in one of the two categories."

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
I don't know enough about them to make any real judgments.

What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice?
I actually haven't seen much from the previous seasons - my work generally keeps me in the office past "The Apprentice's" air time.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George or Carolyn, and why?
George. He's full of experiences and stories that I'd love to hear firsthand. He has a gift for recounting his past in a very entertaining way.

    What are your favorite books?
Things Worth Fighting For by Michael Kelly, When Genius Failed by Roger Lowenstein, Ecce Homo by Nietzsche, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce, and Barrel Fever: Stories and Essays by David Sedaris.

What are your favorite TV shows?
Curb Your Enthusiasm and Mad Money

    What are your favorite movies?
Kill Bill, The Godfather, Tommy Boy, and My Cousin Vinny

    And on the other hand

    Randal Pinket

Randal, 34, is the founder, president and CEO of his fifth venture "BCT Partners," a multi-million dollar management, technology and policy consulting firm based in Newark, N.J., that works with corporations, government agencies, philanthropic and nonprofit organizations. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Hightstown, N.J., he holds five academic degrees in engineering, business and technology including a B.S. from Rutgers University, an M.S. from the University of Oxford in England as a Rhodes Scholar, and an M.S., M.B.A. and Ph.D. from MIT. A former college championship track and field athlete, he has received numerous awards for his accomplishments as an entrepreneur and technologist including the National Society of Black Engineers "National Member of the Year." A Leadership New Jersey Fellow and Next Generation Leadership Fellow, Randal has been featured by Black Enterprise magazine and Ebony magazine in their "30 Leaders of the Future" issue. He is a proud member of First Baptist Church in Somerset, N.J., where he resides and is happily married to his wife Zahara.

When will you consider yourself "a success"?
A friend once told me that success is measured by the number of people you help to become successful. I will consider myself a success when I am in a position to spend my time in the service of others and my money in support of organizations and causes that I consider important, with the hope of helping others to become successful.

How would you describe your leadership style?
My leadership style is to seek out intelligent, hard working, entrepreneurial, and respectful people that like to work collaboratively and as a team, and then I get out of the way so they can do their job. I maintain ultimate responsibility for the team's success, but I only intercede if and when necessary or appropriate.

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
The way I deal with personal and professional challenges is to tackle them head on. I do not shy away from challenges, but rather seek out challenges more often than not. My life has been a series of challenges - from the passing of my late father, Leslie Pinkett, to the struggles I, and my business partners, have endured to establish a thriving enterprise, and more - each of these and other challenges from the past have only strengthened my ability to overcome obstacles in the future.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
The most important quality to have in order to succeed in life is persistence. I believe that sooner or later, the woman or man who persists will succeed. There is absolutely no substitute for persistence.

What's more important: college education or real-world experience?
I believe that real-world experience is more important than a college education, but the strongest combination is to have both. Having worked in corporate America, started three companies, and completed five academic degrees from Rutgers, Oxford, and MIT, I have a rare combination of extensive practical experience and a world-class formal education.

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
I wasn't necessarily motivated or inspired by previous Apprentice winners, but I was motivated and inspired by two individuals that came close to winning, namely, Kwame Jackson and Kevin Allen. As a fellow Black man, both their presence and their performance made me extremely proud. They consistently displayed incredible intellect, dedication, and respect for others. I thought Bill Rancic, Kelly Perdew, and Kendra Todd all competed very effectively as well. Bill was a solid performer throughout his season. Kelly was nearly perfect in his execution - both as a team member and as a project manager. Kendra came on strong in the end and proved that she had what it took to outperform her competitors in the home stretch.

What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice?
Watching The Apprentice has reinforced a message that I often share with audiences when I am invited to speak: "You are your word." At the end of the day all you have is your word. When you say what you mean and mean what you say, and when your words conform to your actions and your actions conform to your words, you exude honesty and integrity and people trust you. Successful candidates on The Apprentice (not just winners) earned the trust and respect of their teammates by embodying this principle.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George, or Carolyn, and why?
I would rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald. I would be guaranteed to learn as much as possible from him, and I could apply that knowledge to my life after we are (hopefully) rescued. Not to mention, Donald's people would have the most money to spend for a search party to find us!
First eliminate every possible source of error. Thence success is inevitable.

    Some more stuff on Rebecca:

"The New York Post's Page Six reports that Donald Trump is mad at CNBC reporter Rebecca Jarvis for leaving his "The Apprentice" — which Jarvis appeared on, and which Trump credits for launching her career — out of her official CNBC bio.

Page Six reports that Trump wrote Jarvis a letter about the omission:

"In your very nice . . . bio, which airs on CNBC, many facts are mentioned about you, some very unimportant," Trump wrote to Jarvis. "But the only thing you don't mention is that you were on 'The Apprentice,' which is the sole factor leading to your job at CNBC. How quickly we forget." A CNBC flack said: " 'The Apprentice' got Rebecca a courtesy interview, but her intelligence, determination and background in both journalism and investment banking got her everything else."
The 27-year-old Jarvis' official bio focuses on her work and educational experience, but does, as Trump notices, omit the show"

Something about Randal, from his website:

He is a proud member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, NJ, and firmly believes that "for those to whom much is given, much is expected."

"I try to live according to the five F’s:
faith, family, friends, fellowship and fun."

    A quote of Randal:
"I'm satisfied with the decision I made and I'm pleased with the arguments I presented. As I said last night, 'in a competition there is only one winner.' You wouldn't ask the gold medalist in the Olympics to share with the silver medalist. Unfortunately for those that wanted to see a double hiring or see Rebecca win, I ended up being the bearer of bad news. However, at the end of day all I did was give Mr. Trump my recommendation. It was ultimately his decision to not hire Rebecca."

    Another:
“There's always a certain responsibility . . . to really represent the African-American community, and to be the kind of role model and figurehead or celebrity that the community can be proud of.”

    And another:
    “Listen, people. My brother, listen.”

    Randal on faith:
My faith and belief in God have always been a source of strength. First and foremost, I am a child of God – a spiritual being with a physical manifestation, rather than a physical being with a spiritual element. My spirituality permeates my personal relationships, my business interactions, and my volunteer activities. I thank the Lord every day for allowing me to see another day, for the food before me when I eat, and for the people he has brought into my life. In reading Bible scripture on a daily basis, I strive to allow God's word to be the compass that guides my life.

Growing up, I attended St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.) in Hightstown, NJ. When I returned from England to the United States, I joined Morning Star Baptist Church in Mattapan, MA, led by Pastor John M. Borders, III. Morning Star Baptist Church is committed to improving the quality of life for its members and residents of the surrounding community, spiritually and economically. After leaving Boston, MA, and returning to New Jersey, I joined First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, NJ (pictured above), where Deforest "Buster" Soaries, Jr. is the Senior Pastor. Worship, Discipleship, Stewardship, Fellowship and Caring Nurture are the cornerstones for conducting ministry at First Baptist Church. These tenets provide a means for the members to remain in fellowship with one another while serving and being served.

Today, I worship regularly at First Baptist Church and endeavor to grow closer to God and to better understand His plan for my life such that I can carry it out.

    ... And also:

God has truly blessed me. He has blessed me with incredible talents in engineering, business and technology. He has blessed me with a loving wife, a wonderful family and caring friends. Perhaps most importantly, he has blessed me with the opportunity to do His will by working in the service of others.

At an early age I learned that "for those to whom much is given, much is expected" (Luke 12:48). I therefore place great emphasis on using my God-given talents to give back to the community. Throughout my professional career there has always been a component of my business and entrepreneurial endeavors, speaking engagements, research, writing, and civic and volunteer activities focused on helping others.

And then the T*** forums on Rebecca:

"After watching her yahoo audition/interview video, I don't think she'll be a favorite of mine this season. Her comment about not wanting to "give up" and have a 9-5 job, 3 kids, live in the suburbs and have a cat and a dog irritate."

"If you look at the extended footage on Yahoo from that task, it shows Rebecca entertaining seniors herself, having a wheelchair "race" with one woman, for example."

"According to Felisha's Fishbowl interview, Randal won this task. She said there was an entire segment where Rebecca went to sleep and Randal was up all night, with her and Alla, complaining that he had to do all the work and Rebecca is asleep on the night of their biggest task. Something like that."

"REBECCA JARVIS JOINS CNBC BUSINESS DAY AS ASSOCIATE REPORTER

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., March 7, 2006---CNBC, the World Leader in Business News, today announced that Rebecca Jarvis, a Chicago-based financial journalist who was the runner-up in last season's "The Apprentice" on NBC, is joining CNBC as an associate reporter. Jarvis, 24, will begin at CNBC on April 3rd and will be based at CNBC global headquarters here.

"Rebecca has shown herself to be an intelligent, poised, inquisitive individual with a keen interest in business reporting," said David Friend, Senior Vice President, Business News, CNBC. "She achieved a great deal at a young age and impressed everyone here. Her background as an investment banker and currency trader has provided her with the insights that will give her depth as a business reporter."

As an associate reporter, Jarvis will work with every department at CNBC, including the assignment desk, video editing and graphic art, as well as accompany CNBC reporters in the field, and develop and report her own stories.

Jarvis said, "As an investment banker and trader, I followed CNBC's contributions to financial news and I'm thrilled to join a team of the industry's finest and most reputable business reporters."

Jarvis came to the attention of CNBC when she appeared in season 4 of "The Apprentice." Since then, Jarvis has been offered other jobs, but has continued freelance reporting--her most recent piece appeared in the Feb. 8 issue of Business 2.0 magazinen its Feb. 8 issue--and exploring other opportunities. She has also written articles for Crain's Chicago Business reporting on equities, private equity, banking, capital markets, SEC regulation, real estate, technology and personal finance.

"The Apprentice" wasn't Jarvis' first television experience. At 16, she was an on-air reporter for three years on "Whatever," a weekly teen program on KARE, the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis.

Jarvis graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics/Law, Letters & Society. A recipient of the University of Chicago's Dean's Grant, she also studied international economics and business in Paris at Sciences Po and Universite Paris Dauphine.

After graduation, Jarvis worked at Banc of America Securities in Chicago as an investment banking analyst, executing private equity and strategic mergers and acquisition advisory, equity, high yield and investment grade transactions. Prior to that, she worked during the summer as a short-term interest rate trader on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London."

Commentary on Randal's actions during season 5
"I did laugh when he pimped out his web site and stuff. He's defintley learnd that from Trump. I just wished he saw his reaction to Sean winning. He was probably thinking "WTF? I could eat his air-punching ass for breakfast!" "

Clarification and Conscience: To Become the Apprentice You Must Earn It
Reflections on The Apprentice 4 Finale from Randal Pinkett

    Monday, January 9, 2006, 11:24 am Eastern

As someone who has pursued business ventures since he opened lemonade stands as a kid, one of my favorite commercials growing up was from Smith Barney. It had a now-famous line, "We make money the old fashioned way, we earn it!" I loved that commercial. It was entertaining and educational. The underlying message was that while there are plenty of ways to make money, the admired way is to actually earn it. As I have reflected on The Apprentice 4 finale, my thoughts have brought back fond memories of that commercial and its message.

My purpose for issuing this statement is not necessarily to change the opinions of people who have been critical of my actions during the last minutes of the finale. Instead, the purpose is to offer clarification on certain issues stemming from the finale that have been misunderstood and misrepresented in the media, as well as to freely and formally express my conscience without having to package my words into succinct sound bites.

To begin, I offer a few facts simply for the purpose of clarification. First, it was clear to me at the time and Mr. Trump has confirmed that when he asked, "Should I hire Rebecca also?" that Mr. Trump was soliciting my opinion on whether she should be crowned as an equal co-Apprentice, not hired for a runner-up job. Undoubtedly, this is the most prevalent misunderstanding from the finale. Second, I was not fully prepared for this question. Instead, I was prepared for an outright double hiring. Third, my response to Mr. Trump’s question was not, "No," but rather that "tonight" he should hire one and only one as the Apprentice. Fourth and finally, I did not deliberately seek to "block" Rebecca from a job with the Trump Organization out of spitefulness, as a result of her past behavior toward me, or simply to demonstrate toughness. Could I have stated my position more gracefully? Certainly. I actually thought my answer was somewhat tactful, as it was preceeded with glowing compliments. Could I have added a few statements that encouraged Mr. Trump to still offer a job to the runner-up? Absolutely. But, once again, nothing I said that evening suggested that I was opposed to giving her a job. The fact that I didn’t make this explicit created more controversy than I could have imagined at the time. Nonetheless, hindsight is indeed 20/20 and Monday morning quarterbacking doesn’t change the outcome of the game.

For those who, having recognized these facts, still take issue with my actions, we must agree to disagree. My behavior in life and on television has shown me to be someone who is respectful, genuine and humble, not egotistical, selfish or in search of the limelight. Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet and know me, including my fellow contestants will attest to this. Prior to the finale, I would have been naively inclined to believe that the presentation of my personality on television was durable enough to withstand certain challenges. I’ve now learned that certain members of the viewing public and the media are all too willing to cast those impressions aside, rather than wrestle with identifying the underlying consistency between my actions and my character. Such behavior will continue to manifest itself by those who read (or skim) this statement only to deafly cast it aside as "damage control", an insincere attempt to repair my public perception, or some other form of revisionist, spin-doctoring. For those who say that they have lost "all respect" for me, it is certainly disappointing, but I respectfully submit that if that is indeed the case then you did not have very much respect for me to begin with. It is easy, if not convenient to say that I spent twelve weeks hiding my "true colors" only to reveal them in the final episode. What requires deeper thought is to understand why my actions in the final episode were very much consistent with the principles that guided me throughout the weeks preceding the finale.

Recognizing that Mr. Trump was soliciting my thoughts on co-Apprentices, not co-employment, my message was plain and simple: I believe that I fairly and decisively earned the title of the Apprentice and could not, in good conscience, recommend the proposition of co-Apprentices. It is something I would have reasonably considered if I believed the competition was indeed that close, but that has never been my opinion with all due respect to Rebecca who was a truly outstanding competitor. Interestingly and sadly, what has been conspicuously absent from many of the articles and postings criticizing me is an associated, cogent argument based on reasonable criteria stating how Rebecca legitimately earned the right to be the Apprentice. I believe that I more than sufficiently distinguished myself as the decisive winner, which does not contradict the support or admiration I continue to express toward Rebecca. She was a strong teammate. She has proven herself to be a very intelligent, determined and capable individual who I respect for her perseverance. At the same time, my academic and professional record far exceeds hers. In the midst of a personal tragedy, I had an undefeated record of 3-0 as a project manager. She had a losing record of 1-2 as a project manager. I had a winning team record of 7-4. She had a losing team record of 4-7. When we went head-to-head as project managers, I defeated her. I was consistently identified as one of the strongest members of my team by virtue of being drafted on two occasions by the opposing team. Exactly 20,270 (81%) of those polled by NASDAQ just prior to the finale believed I should be the winner, compared to only 4,838 (19%) for my competitor. Notwithstanding the challenges that were portrayed on my task, for our final charity fundraisers I raised over $11,000 for Autism Speaks and she raised $0 (and, yes, my charity also continues to receive donations as a result of my team’s efforts including $50,000 from the finale that was raised independent of her efforts and my own). Lastly, what I believe is the strongest testament to my performance is that fourteen of the sixteen candidates who lived and worked with both of us believe I deserved to be the sole winner, including two of the three people who worked for her on the final task. I don't offer this information to be critical of Rebecca, but rather to present the facts as I saw them that evening. Whereas my supporters tend to point to these facts, my critics tend to conveniently overlook them. I have yet to see a similarly convincing argument stating how Rebecca earned the right to be a co-Apprentice.

In conclusion, for those claiming it would not have taken anything away from my win, I respectfully disagree. But, I don’t disagree from the perspective of a "me, me, me" childish, selfish, competition-fearing, egotistical, sore winner who wanted to hog the limelight as some have suggested. I disagree from the perspective of someone who is more than happy to share the limelight if I believe it has been earned. It may not have diminished the victory in the eyes of certain members of the viewing public but, I submit, if you closely compare our performance on the show it should have. More importantly, it would have compromised my integrity whereas my principles are far more important than popularity. My words during the last minutes of the finale were intended to convey this message and this message only: to become the Apprentice you must do so the old-fashioned way, you must earn it. The value of excellence is just as important a lesson for our children as the virtue of sharing. Each has its appropriate time and place. I honestly and truthfully do not believe that a co-Apprenticeship was earned, and I consider it a disservice to ask someone to share a victory with a clear runner-up, no matter how laudable the runner-up’s efforts may be. I stood firm on this point at the finale and I will stand firm on it hereafter with the same smile, style and grace that characterized my performance throughout the "job interview of a lifetime"!

God bless my fans and my critics.

HERE STARTS THE PART WITH MORE CONCENTRATION ON THE ANALYSIS!

    Jennifer Wallen
Regarding the material posted earlier on her.

Her university subjects were public relations and political science. (Mostly that 'smells' like strong ethical function)
She was member of the university golf team (Sport with slow, individual pace. Member of, so not particularly gifted (she wasn't the champion of anything), otoh, not particularly averse to team sport undertakings)
Former president of her local Future Farmers of America Association. (Willing to perform social duties? This could be something major for all I know, but this seems more like one of those jobs that somebody gets shafted with.)
She enjoys riding horses, camping and even earned her first dollar showing sheep. (Likes animals)
Her own real estate company called "Hot Realty." (That could be a reference to sexuality, but when one witnesses her rural style, it seems more like a joke.)
Opened her second business "Off the Hook Sushi & Martini Bar." Proving itself to be a hip and trendy local spot to dine on delicious cuisine, she and her partners plan to open two more restaurants in the next year. (Who talks about having partners in Apprentice bios? Cares about being hip and trendy?)
Jennifer is also the proud "Mommy" of two children. (Kids important)
Her idea of success: I will consider myself "a success" when I have not only achieved my current business and personal goals but have exceeded them. (If one wants to analyze this at all, this would be 'process'-'positive' in my opinion, the idea of continuous growth rather than a state of happiness)
Her leadership style 1. The first is "visionary" - being able to see possibilities and inspire others. (Uh, the definition of Ne)
    2. The second is "building relationships" - being a leader requires followers, which requires building trust and loyalty with coworkers. (The definition of Fi)
    3. The third is "manager of execution" - to put it in simple words, an administrator who is skilled in getting things done, able to get results, and who accomplishes objectives. ( This actually seems more like Te+Si without actually claiming these qualities as her own.)
Most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
Faith. Every time I take a new risk or a new challenge, I say, "I am constantly taking leaps of faith." I have faith that I won't fail, and if I do, I have faith that I will pick myself up again. You can't succeed unless you try. Take the leap! (Fi+Ne)
I am a college graduate, and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to grow and learn at a wonderful university. However, my "real-world experiences" have taught me more than I ever could or would have learned in college. (Believes in her own experience, though she's not above learning more, as mentioned before.)
She claims to have been inspired by the previous apprentices, singles out Kendra. The other two are ESTp and INFp, so picking Kendra above them could signal delta. I'm not equally sure about Kendra's own type because she's got a sort of 'under the radar' demeanor. I've called her INFp too at one point but I have strong doubts about that typing. )
Her lesson from previous seasons has been:
That sometimes in the boardroom it is better to not talk until spoken to or called upon. (Seems quite a correct approximation from her point of view. Though I have no idea why she'd be applying for the race anyway. Possibly one of her leaps of faith?)
I think it should be mentioned that she says she's a single mom of two during the interview. Later on in another connection it becomes known that she's married again and talks a lot about her husband, thinks the person is very important to her.
About her favorite tv shows, what strikes me as curious is the mention of Fear Factor. I do know that sometimes INFjs have a curious liking for the morbid, but I still wonder about this in connection to her otherwise generally 'cookie-mom' image. INFjs are in many ways really strong people, so I'm not saying I wouldn't think they couldn't handle this kind of shows. But it doesn't go with the normal stereotype that betas are the ones that like all the gross stuff.

    What are your favorite movies?
I will always love the classic "chick flicks" - Pretty Woman and Steel Magnolias. I will always remember Karate Kid Part One and Can't By Me Love. I will always buy tickets to see a move made from one of John Grisham's novels. Also, movies that make me laugh with actors Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. (Mostly that screams delta, though with elements of both gamma and alpha.)

Her later businesses, a website that rides on her reputation as a former apprentice participant and what appears to be an email-scam both talk prominently of her new husband. (If this is something that has been strongly pushed by said husband, or whether this should be filed under her becoming more alpha, I don't know. Either way, both projects seem to have been unpromising and actually tell of quite weak personal business skills.)

I personally think the case for this person being INFj is quite strong.

Now to analyzing the episode in which she was fired.

    EPISODE 3

Josh *Unbelieving gaze when Markus strides back* Yet he’s the first to give him a handshake and a smile. (emotion-creation?)

Josh: Gives the team a peptalk with a whisper: We should leave the fighting in the boardroom, start afresh. (Leadership)

Markus responds: It’s over. This is day one. (Collected, firm)

Markus: I’m a survivor. Do I talk too much? Hmph. I’ll tone it down. It’s not a big deal.

Josh makes a huddle with the team: 1..2…3… Excel! (emotion-creation)

Kristi and Felisha hang out and eat and talk chat about Rebecca’s accident. (apparent good relation, Kristi with strongly supposed ESFp, Felisha, gamma)

Kristi: The leg was swollen. She wasn’t kidding. (Serious, implied dislike of people who ARE kidding)

Rebecca: It was nice to have someone come to the clinic with me. Toral and I, I think we have found friendship. (Not quite sure, apparently? Anyway, good relation)

Toral: Rebecca and I, we get on very well, because we have lots of things in common. I’m from Wharton, she’s from Chicago. She was a banker, I continue to be a banker. You know, we’re really here to demonstrate work ethic. And that’s a different thinking from those people that are not trained by large corporate institutions. (Not sure whether she's oblivious or purposefully lying. Work ethic? Her? Either way she's more concentrated on pushing certain people away from her than keeping Rebecca as a friend.)

    Kristi: How did it go?

    Rebecca: I broke my ankle.

Kristi: You BROKE it? Oh my god!

Felisha: How are you? *hugs Rebecca* (emotion-creation? Formerly my first instinct of Felisha's muted style was that she would be INTp, but I have to think about INFp or ENTj too.)

Jennifer M hangs back. Evaluates. (Tactical? My first instinct of her has been INFj. I think I should reconsider that too.)

Felisha: Certainly I thought the cast was going to cause a problem. Rebecca could be a liability. (Continues to show strong Ni, continuous evaluation of strength.)

Rebecca: With my leg and my foot what it is, I am worried, but this isn’t going to hold me back. I never go down that easy.

Jennifer M, Kristi and Felisha have fun together emptying the dishwasher. (Good relations apparently.)

Markus: I didn’t think I wasn’t coming back (or similar, hard to make out exactly)

Toral: I knew you were coming back. You’re articulate and smart, and that’s the ticket. I want the best people to win based on intelligence, knowledge and logic. I don’t like cliques, I don’t like politics, I hate sororities, I don’t like popularity contests. (NT. Overappreciation of perceived intelligence and use of language as a tool. Anti-beta and anti-gamma statements.)

Kristi shushes the others so they can all hear what she’s saying. (Nosy.)

Toral: I say there’s a group of women here who seem to have banded together based on the fact that they have no work experience. I think they’re cute people. If I had a secretary job I would happily hire any of these people. (Belittles. Considers self to be the obvious boss. Implication of others doing things for her. Demanding Si.)

Markus: I proved tonight it works. *clicks glasses with Toral* (Good relationship. Suspected identical INTjs)

Donald: Rebecca, what happened to you?

Rebecca: I wish I could say it was something really glamorous but just a fall. (Wish for glamour. Alpha.)

    Donald : Can you continue?

Rebecca: I’m definitely going to continue, I’m here to win.

Donald: Markus, you have any questions?

    Markus shakes his head.

Donald: I’m shocked, maybe you’re finally learning something.

Markus: You got my attention, sir.

Randall puts a hand on Markus’ shoulder, as comfort. (!! Previous first suspicion of INTp. Have to consider INFp.)

Randal: There’s almost like poetry here. I just took a digital picture of my granny and showed it to her. It was a natural choice for me to be project manager. My grandmother was watching over me, and I think that’s going to be the extra edge. (Poetry? Dead watchful grandmothers? Definite idealist streak. Yet has good relations with the gamma bunch in the Excel team. Still straddling the fence on him)

Rebecca: I want everyone to be able to go around and explain our concept. (Unity)

Rebecca: I decided it was time for me to be project manager. I broke my ankle and I had to prove that I’m valuable as a resource. (Has to prove herself by action. That's more SF than NF. On the other hand it could be construed that Ni is what enables her to observe her position in the moment. Either way it seems that she's manipulating others' perception of her: Fe.)

    PART 3.2

Rebecca: You guys come up with market resource questions for us to ask each person at Cedar crest.

Rebecca: Jennifer W, you are working at the catering at this point.

Rebecca: I delegated the event planning to Jen W, because she had a background at event planning. So I thought the fit was natural.

Jen W: *shows her notes* Maybe three tables, maybe have food off to the side. (Not pushy. Low extrovert function.)

Jen W: I was the event planner. It’s something that I actually love to do. I love to entertain. I love old people. … I thought we had it in the bag. I thought we as women would be able to engage the residents. They might see us like their granddaughters. (Fi and more Fi, positivism)

Jen M: We’re going to be judged by surveys the seniors themselves fill out. Which is great, because when it comes to talking to people one on one, women tend to have a softer approach. (That is, she tends to have a soft approach. Furthermore, believes that's actually the way to get things done.)

Mark: Jacob told us straight out that technology was from the devil. *laughs* That kind of concerned us a little bit. We knew we had to think of some outstanding ideas. (Matter-of-fact. Self-confident. Somewhat positive. Earlier demonstration of negativism. Could consider ESFp for him anyway.)

Markus: Tivo for example, we could easily demonstrate in a group of people. (He's an inventor. Personal focus on technology. Si+Te? I still don't think so.)

James: That’s a great idea. (James has a good relationship with Markus. He also had a bad one with Chris. My current suspicion of him is that he's ISFp. This random bit of emotion-creation is somewhat supportive of that. So I'm thinking activity relation INTj-ISFp.)

Clay: No, this little man who was ninetyone years old is going to walk right up there and say: this tech expo isn’t for me. (Strong Creation-creation. Ability to be hugely negative. Negative-narrator to be more exact. Also, still doesn't like Markus. Earlier gut instinct ISTp. Have to also consider INTp)

Markus: I’ll do the tivo. (Personal determination)

Clay: I think you’re wasting time doing that. (INTpish)

Clay: When Markus started talking about Tivo, I knew there was going to be a problem. Tivo’s a very hard thing to set. People want something simple. (gamma-delta fits)

Clay: George, would you say that a lot of people in your age range are set in their ways?

George: That’s what you have to figure out. (ISTj doesn't like Clay)

    Clay: You’re wrong Randal.

Josh: I honestly believe Clay’s the biggest bitch in this whole team. He was so obvious, because he was making a point to the team, but staring straight at mr Ross when he made it, clearly looking for approval. Then he said “When you lose Randal”, I want to be on record as the one who said, this sucked. (Josh, I believe is ENTj, possibly no subtype. If Clay has a sort of mirror-supervisor relationship with him, this kind of a reaction wouldn't be unordinary)

    *James glances disapprovingly*

Josh: He’s on everybody’s radar. He makes one wrong move, that bitch is going out. (Says who?)

Donald: People like working for the Trump organization, because it’s fun. It’s interesting. I make it interesting. (He's so ENTp)

Rebecca: All right, everyone to the table. No discussion until everyone’s had their say, okay? (Micromanagement, sort of social, except... not, goal of equal opportunity, but forced with a semi-fascist manner. Weird.)

Jen M: Our task was to bring the technology to the old people. (Matter of fact, analytical? I'm thinking ENTp is possible.)

Rebecca: Are there any new ideas? Not on how we deliver them, just the products now? (Expects ideas from others? Requesting Ne?)

Alla: Rebecca’s managing approach is very abrasive. In a group of such strong women you don’t talk at women, you talk to them to get their respect and attention. (Supposed ESTj-Te doesn't appreciate Ej-Fe. Come to think of it, Rebecca's style feels sort of creation-creation and this seems like a criticism of that. Alla is not impressed.)

Rebecca: We’re leaving here, like now, so everyone get your stuff together so we can go!

Jen W: Woohoo, here we go!

Rebecca: Once we decided what we would buy, we went to Best Buy.

Alla: I got this and that and bla blaa… (Te but also just a list. Doesn't have to signify anything except high extrovert function.)

Alla: We have a good chance of failure because we really need to get jazzed about it. (Alla is quite negative on the whole.)

Kristi: If she can’t get us jazzed… (You're going to do what? Are you threatening her?)

Mark to Clay: I thought I’d bring this up. I was bothered yesterday, when you brought those comments up to George. I thought that was contrived on your part. (Very self-assured)

Mark: I think it’s good for this team to have these meetings. We need a hundred % from everybody. And I don’t know that I trust Clay. (Ep-Se related to Ip-Te. Non-trusting? Ok, I can buy that.)

Clay: If we lose this task, I don’t want you to drag my butt into the boardroom and say “You didn’t say anything before now.” So I wanted it to be known. (Covers his own ass first. No emotion-creation. No attention to others' feelings at all.)

Randal: How is that constructive? (Randal doesn't like Clay either? Here's a paradox. If he's supposed to be INTp and Clay's supposed to be INTp, how come they dislike each other? Ok, what I'm claiming is Randal is IP-Ni and Clay is IP-Te. I think the difference between INTp subtypes shows its importance here. Anyway, INTp are negative and opinionated and it's quite reasonable to have two of them griping about each other.)

Clay: It’s constructive because I let know that I think we could lose this task. (Oh, ok. If you say so.)

Randal: I think we agree that’s not constructive. (Not buying it.)

Markus: For the sake of the team I hope the two of you bury the hatchet. I think there’s still a lingering… turd in the pool. (Emotion-creation, tries to take leadership-role)

*james laughs* (James still likes Markus)

Markus: Hope that will be fished out soon and this resolves. (Okay, it was funny.)

Josh hugs Randal: I’m so happy you came today. Let me tell you about technology. *Randal laughs* (showing how to treat people) (Doesn't trust Randal's people skills)

Randal: I devised 3 subthemes and a general theme of Connecting the Generations.

Randal: Clay and Brian were responsible for getting people into the Internet. (Do Clay and Brian go well together? Do they have some common experience of internet? Or are they just the two people Randal dislikes?)

Randal: The second station was about photography. There Adam was taking pictures of people. (Adam, huh?)

Adam: Perfecto! (Randal thinks Adam has people skills.)

Randal: The last station was centered around Markus. There we had Tivo.

*Markus fiddles with the tv and shows how it works* (Markus is quite good with technology)

Josh: He had a captive audience. He had the floor to speak up uninterrupted. It was like a dream come true for him. (Not particularly friendly, but still sees the synergy.)

Randal: I think it was very inviting. We had food, we had signs, we had balloons. It was a great looking expo. (Some Fe there. I continue to think that Randal shows skills in both Te and Fe.)

Rebecca: Hi there, I’m Rebecca. *rolls around in her wheel chair, making friends with old people* (Positive Fe)

Jen W: Would like some cake or anything? Would you like some punch? Are you good? (Fi)

Jen W: Help yourself, feel free to walk around and take a look. (Go! Do! Act! Please use some Si)

    Carolyn: What are you doing?

Jen W: I was basically the main planner, down to the table linen, food, beverage. …. Not too overwhelming. (Table linen is important to her.)

Carolyn: Jen W was responsible. There was nothing that really drew you in. (Carolyn doesn't like Jen W. I think it's an INFj-Fi - ISFp-Fe clash.)

Carolyn: Your cake is spelled wrong. (Focus on detail)

Jen W: That’s supposed to be a C. Oh well. (No focus on detail)

Rebecca: I was very uninmpressed with the food and the décor Jen W planned. But I still thought we’d win because of our great personalities. We could really interact and give the seniors a good day. (Fe judgment, "I want everything to be grand and overdone" vs. Fi "The basics is what's important", "At least I tried".)

*Toral fumbles with tv* (No technical skill)

Toral: Look, I’m an investment banker on wall street. I put together multi-million dollar deals on Wall Street. And the TV, I wouldn’t say it’s below me, but it’s not something that I would generally do. ("I'm too intelligent to be able to use a tv.")

Marshawn: I did see Toral trying to give a presentation. The television didn’t work more often than it did work. She is by far the weakest player in our team. (Weak! Bad! Ugh. Her appreciation of Se sort of overpowers any other possible side to her personality. She wasn't appreciative of Kristi ESFp, but she also hates Toral INTj. I wonder whether she could be ESTp. She shows a lot of negativity. I've previously branded her ISTj because I sense Ti+Se in her, but Ti is very weak compared to Se. ISFj-Se might be possible too, but she doesn't work that great with the Kristi-Felisha-Alla axis that more or less dominates the team. OTOH ISFj as negative would be likely to be left out when extroverts start their "reindeer games".)

Jen M: Okay so I’ll demonstrate this heart meter. I’ll put it under here. …

Jen M: The old men are having a blast talking to me. They love seeing all these young women and I think it’s one of the main reasons they’re here. (ENTp doesn't seem impossible. ENTp-Ne to be more exact.)

*Jen M does push-ups on the floor* (Strong extrovert function. She has good drive. Better than I'd expect Ij-Ne to demonstrate.)

Carolyn is laughing at her. (Is that laughing WITH her or AT her? If I'm claiming duals, but wrong subtypes, I could see Carolyn thinking that Jen is weak, due to her low emphasis on personal status.)

Random man: I feel very excited.

Jen M: What am I going to do with you… (Sort of frustrated. Not particularly antagonistic. A bit of Fi I guess.)

Jen M: If they give us a ten because we’re women, I’ll take it. (More of that good drive.)

Donald: Who was your team leader?

James doesn’t talk but points at Randal. (One of the reasons I'm thinking James is ISFp, is because he constantly hides his personality while still trying to interact with people.)

Donald: Did you have any weak links, don’t tell me Markus again. (Donald doesn't seem to HATE Markus though he doesn't particularly hold him in high esteem.)

Randal: No, actually he was… *everybody pats Markus in the back*

Donald: How was it, who was the weak link?

Rebecca: I was generally happy with my team but I would have to say the weak link was Jen W. (Fe doesn't like Fi)

Jen W looks down. (Low fighting spirit. Very introverted.)

Upon learning of the win, James aggressively high fives others, again, not really talking.

Donald: Who wants Randal to be exempt?

James lifts his hand as the first one, Clay is the second. Eventually everyone votes yes. (James is really trying to be a nice guy. Doesn't dislike Randal. Somewhat significant is that Josh, who was an earlier proponent of the "no exemptions" policy goes with the flow here)

Jen W: Rebecca just stabbed me in the back. And I’m very upset. And I’m very offended. And I’m very disappointed in Rebecca right now. (Not a particularly fearsome thing for Rebecca. I'd be very sad though. I'd really like Jen W to appreciate me.)

Jen W talks to Kristi in tears: Oh, I cussed. I ought to take a piece of soap to my mouth right now. (She's just too cute for words.)

Jen W: My performance was not why we lost this task. So Rebecca threw me under the bus. (Surprised by someone not performing according to her expectations.)

Jen W: It makes me feel like a complete idiot. I don’t want to go home. (It's a harsh world out there. Sorry, can't help it.)

Jen W: I’m going to have to fight for my life. (She doesn't HATE Se. She does understand the concept. She just dislikes it.)

Jen M: Jen, don’t be too hard on yourself. (An ounce of Fi?)

Josh: I think giving a reward to a child, being a reward itself, is a phenomenal concept. (A definite ideas-person.)

Josh: As a group, I think we’ll be stronger as a result of giving these gifts to these children. (Positivism)

Brian: DVD player? *offers box* (Not that interested himself?)

Clay plays with kids. (Clay isn't JUST negative. He can be quite outgoing, positivist.)

Mark: Those kids' faces lit up. It wasn’t about the illness.

Mark talks to kids about his own home in Kentucky. (People care about you? ... Maybe it's just something for him to do. Anyway, no imagination.)

Mark: What’s special about this team is that we were as happy with those senior residents as we were with these children. (Has so far demonstrated both Ti and Fi.)

Kid: I’m going to buy a Lamborghini with my first million dollars.

Clay: That’s a sore subject in these parts! (Not above criticizing sick kids.)

Mark: We’ve got some class acts in this team and I was really proud to see that.

James: It’s been a blast. Do you mind if we leave? … You want us to stay? *high fives kids*
(James REALLY tries to be nice. He even takes commands from hospital kids.)

Jen W: I felt I was taking good care of everybody and you just threw me under the bus. I did everything I was supposed to do at that task. The only person who didn’t know how to troubleshoot was Toral. Her tv froze eight times. If you don’t take that person to the boardroom, it’s all going to come back on you. I’d rather have you here, than her. She’s not our caliber. And I’m afraid that the fact that she came with you to the hospital… (Kind of repetitive with the "throwing under the bus" thing. She is fighting. A bit desperate though.)

    Rebecca: Clouds my vision?

Jen W. Yes! Yes! Yes! I mean listen to everybody. How can seven brilliant women be so wrong.

Rebecca: I’m still thinking about what I want to do today. I’m torn.

    Donald: Hello.

    Rebecca: Hi.

    Donald: How’s your ankle?

    Rebecca: It’s ok, mr Trump.

Donald: Who thought she did a good job?

    Toral raises her hand.

Toral: I think we lost because some individuals didn’t have the technical knowledge that the men did.

Marshawn: Mr Trump, if that’s the case, then Toral has to be talking about herself. Your station was the only one where there was constantly a problem. (Zing! Anyway Marshawn shows what Se is really all about, a direct immediate hit to where it counts.)

    Toral: That’s ridiculous.

Marshawn: We’re not asking for the world from Toral. We’re asking for basic things. There’s a reason some people are starters and some people are bench warmers. We don’t have room for someone to warm the bench. We don’t even have a bench. (I'm still getting more of an IJ feeling than an EP feeling.)

Toral: I have knowledge about marketing, finance, banking. I have impressive work experience. The top real estate developers in the city know me. You have put together a group of people with very unimpressive work experience, no professional education. (Yadda yadda, they bad, me good.)

Carolyn: Are you saying you’re the only person who deserves to be here?

Toral: I’m the only… I believe I am one of the individuals who will end up as a strong executive. (I think she believes she's the only one and only corrects herself when noticing the foot-bullet.)

    Donald: Who else?

Toral: I believe Rebecca is an intelligent person… (Emotion-creation. Yeah Toral is so genuine.)

Alla: That’s a biased opinion, because they’re friends. ("Objectivity")

Toral: We come from analytical backgrounds. We think our thoughts through before speaking. We think more. (Alpha NT)

Felisha shakes her head in disbelief and rolls her eyes. (Gamma NT doesn't like Alpha)

George and Carolyn assault the signage and the cookies.

Jen W: That’s not why we lost. (Creation-creation. She really appears to believe this is true.)

Jen M looks on smugly. (I still feel she's delta-alpha.)

Donald: Who allowed the cake to have a wrong spelling?

Jen W: That would be my fault. (Owns up to her own mistakes)

Jen W: I believe Toral was the weakest link. (INFj throws INTj under the bus? Why not? She's fighting after all. Momentary ISFj behaviour.)

Felisha: Tough one. I’d fire Rebecca or Toral. Toral’s a liability, sir. (Gamma NT doesn't like either one.)

Toral: I think that’s absolutely ridiculous mister Trump. (Ridicule as a tool.)

Alla: I’d fire Toral. (Suspected delta-Te doesn't like INTj either.)

Jen M: I’d fire Toral. If Rebecca doesn’t bring Toral in, then she definitely should be fired. (Is that Ti justice? A sort of threat? Or is that just intuition. But if the latter, why does she phrase it like that?)

Rebecca: Mr Trump, there’s something I’d like to say. I’d like to say something about Toral. I’d like to see a woman as your next apprentice… (Creation-creation.)

Donald: And you don’t think Toral’s going to make it…

Rebecca: I’m afraid that if Toral doesn’t go on, that a woman may not have the intellectual charge to … (Appreciates intelligence and apparently thinks more highly of Toral's than her own?)

Jen M: That shows a lack of judgment. She’s obviously still sticking up for Toral. (She does remind me a bit of Donald Trump actually.)

George: Way off base! (George doesn't like Jen? But George can handle Donald? George is ISTj. Donald is his supervisor and that suits him because he IS the boss. Jen isn't. Also the two appear to have different subtypes. If Jen is ENTp he SHOULD irritate George.)

Toral: That’s the truth! (Toral and George like each other)

Donald: Don’t say that George. I don’t necessarily disagree with her. (Donald and George actually don't see eye to eye in many cases, particularly when it comes to rational apprentices. Anyway, Donald approves of Jen.)

Rebecca: She went to the same school as mr Trump, George. (Very good Fe)

Rebecca. This is very difficult for me. I have to go with my gut, and I have to go with my integrity. I’m going to bring in Jen M and Jen W, please mr Trump. (This is the signature moment where Rebecca sacrifices herself romantically for Toral. This is a highly ENFj thing to do and explains why I originally thought Rebecca was a clear ENFj. OTOH Rebecca is most consistently a positive person and I should probably consider this important event in her life as sporadic. Either way, she's very strongly EJ-Fe and shows capability in both, Si and Ni.)

Jen M Laughs to herself. (Not a strong believer in loyalty.)

Rebecca: I understand I’m putting myself in a bad position, but I intend to maintain my integrity. I believe in Toral. I believe in her abilities. And as a result I’m incapable of bringing her to the boardroom. Whether or not that leads to my defeat, which it might. But there’s something I will never put on the line, and that’s my integrity. And I will not allow that to be set aside for one short term game.

Donald: Toral, You should drop to your knees and thank her, because I don’t get it. (Doesn't get loyalty, but appreciates it nonetheless.)

Toral: Mr Trump! *shakes her head* I haven’t lost any task! (Doesn't get ENFj behaviour. Has difficulty taking the ISTj role.)

Donald to Rebecca: I think you’re wrong. What I do like, is your loyalty. I think the loyalty is very admirable.

    Rebecca: Thank you.

Donald: Enjoy the view, Toral. While your very good friend Rebecca goes through hell. (It sucks to be ENFj)

George: She stood out for her principles. (ISTj understands and appreciates ENFj actions)

Carolyn: Jen W without a doubt deserves to be here. I was very surprised that she took Jen M. (ISFp at least somewhat likes supposed ENTp)

Jen W walks by Rebecca’s side slowly and helps her get into the chair. (Even though Rebecca "threw her under the bus" Jen is still helping her.)

Rebecca: I believe Jen M spends copious amount of time with things that are… important but not leading to a win. (Hm? Strange way to put something)

Jen W: I don’t think Jen did anything wrong. (Still looking out for others as much as for herself.)

Donald: You can say what you want about Toral, but fact is, the team can’t stand her and she has brought the team down. She certainly wasn’t an inspiration to the team.

Rebecca: That could be someone’s reason to bring her back in, but it wouldn’t be mine.

    Donald: You’re very hard-headed.

    Rebecca: I am very hard-headed.

George: A good executive has to have a certain amount of flexibility. Where’s the flexibility?

    Donald: She has no flexibility.

Rebecca: It’s ironic that you say I have no flexibility when I stepped up to this task with a broken bone. I was walking on crutches and was flexible enough to take on project leader. To call me inflexible…

Donald: You ARE inflexible. And you’re pretty… tough.

Carolyn smiles, beaming. (If Carolyn is IP-Fe and Rebecca EJ-Fe these two really understand each other. )

Rebecca: I’m very tough, mr Trump.

Carolyn: I think the reason they lost was because there was NOTHING to this presentation. I thought the presentation was very drab, the food was horrible, there was nothing that really drew you in. There was not even a sign that said Technology exposition. (ISFp comes to ESFj and ENTP's help and throws the INFj under the bus.)

Jennifer M smiles and nods at the background. (ENTp is quite fine with the INFj being thrown under the bus.)

Jen W: I picked cake because my granny loved it. I picked cookies, because I knew some people wouldn’t like cake. And they’d probably like something easier, just hand-held. I even had sugar-free cookies for the diabetics. I made sure that I did that. (I'm sure she did.)

    Carolyn looks on disbelievingly.

    Donald: Why did you lose?

Rebecca: I think we lost because we didn’t put on a good enough presentation. (Hint: fire her.)

Donald: Is that your or Jennifer’s fault?

Rebecca: It’s Jen W’s fault. (Gee, that's a difficult question. Do I want myself to be fired or her?)

Jen W: I think that just shows more of her poor leadership that she’s allowed her friendship to cloud her judgment. How can seven other brilliant intelligent women be so wrong. (Still sticking up for HER team, not getting that this other group of people plays by entirely different rules.)

Jen M nods in the background. ("I think it's a good idea to join the winning side." Jen nods a lot.)

Donald: Rebecca. Toral should have been here. She would have been fired. But I think you have a tremendous potential. Therefore, Jen W you’re fired. (Donald really likes the idea of someone being this loyal to him.)

    Jen W (sadly): Okay.

Jen W helps Rebecca get off the chair. (After being offed by her, she still helps her. Unlimited niceness!)

Donald: This girl’s either going to be great, or a disaster. (I remember him saying that about Sam (ENFj) during the first season.)

    George: Time will tell.

Jen W: I’d just like to say that I am a good event planner. And I’m very disappointed by the outcome tonight. I thought it should have been Toral to go. She’s obviously the weakest link. If Rebecca lets her friendship with Toral cloud her judgment, that’s just another example of her poor leadership. I can tell you right now that the moral in the women’s team is going to be low. They’re going to be in shock. (Sticks to her story. Self-confident despite momentary set-back.)

EPISODE 4 TRANSCRIPT, ADDING ANALYSIS LATER

    Kristi: Hello ladies!

Kristi: I didn’t expect to see you back, I really didn’t.

Toral claps her hands in a half-hearted accepting applause.

Rebecca: It’s good to be back, and we as a team obviously have a lot to talk about before next task.

Rebecca: Kristi, Felisha and Alla wanted to really understand why I didn’t bring Toral into the boardroom, and where my thoughts were. (At this point these three have formed a group functioning around Te-Fi, gamma>delta. )

Felisha: I hope sincerely that we get to see, what you see, in Toral. It felt like you were just protecting a friend. (Personal uncertainty. Emotion>creation-creating).

Rebecca. I do see something in Toral. And I guarantee you that you will see her step up in the next task. I guarantee it. (Creation>emotion-creating. How does she guarantee it? What's she going to do if Toral fucks up again? It's probably real in her imagination, but...)

Kristi: For each task that we’ve had, have you given it everything that you’ve got? Given it all in every single task?

Toral: Probably not. (I'd like to point out that Toral does sometimes speak something that's true.)

Toral: My strategy was really to take an extremely passive approach, to allow each person to implode. Because I just didn’t believe that these people would be able to perform in any manner. … I’m not completely wrong about that.

Toral: I appreciate that you haven’t seen me step up in all of these tasks and if that is something that I have to do in the future, I will. (There's a bit of Fi there. I think this wish is genuine.)

Kristi: Now, I’m expecting double, because you owe it to her… Big time! Because she stood up for you, and how loyal she is… You owe her to bust your butt. Because if we’ll end up back in the boardroom, and you’re still half-assing it… I’ll be pissed. (Kristi is lovely when she gets mad. As threats go, that one's kind of weak, but she does mean it.)

    Toral shakes her head.

Donald: Toral, you better start showing your talent.

Toral nods: Absolutely, sir (Markus gets jokes, Toral gets a pep talk/threat)

Felisha: Let’s decide first of all who’s going to be project manager. (Emotion-creation. I'm starting to feel good about the idea of Felisha being ENTj-Ni. She seems to be a person who brings energy and a loose structure to the team.)

Toral: I’d like the opportunity to step up at some point. I know you’re expecting it from me. But, I don’t have an advertising background or anything like that. It’s just that… I’m happy to step up, if nobody else wants to do it. (She somewhat, almost wants to take the initiative, but her Se is pretty bad.)

Alla: Then everybody looked at Toral and she said. I…I’ll take it on if nobody else wants it. … What the hell is that? (State the case, negative question. ESTj through and through.)

Felisha: I also don’t have a background in advertising, but I think you know how I love presentation. (I don't think an INTp would love presentation. I'm feeling happy about the ENTj idea)

Kristi: My vote goes to Felisha for project manager. (Activity partner vs. conflict partner. Not a difficult choice.)

    Felisha: Thank you.

Toral: No problem Felisha, if everybody wants you to do it.

Rebecca: I’m very disappointed. Frankly, Toral didn’t step up like I expected her to, so I’m not only afraid for Toral, but I’m also afraid for myself because I stood up for her. (She wanted to see a "leader".)

Kristi: All right ladies, let’s go.

Josh: I think the person who leads this task has to have experience with Dairy queen, and be very creative. (Ni.)

Clay: I’ll agree to do it based on certain conditions: If I ask you to do something, you’ll do it. When we schedule stuff, don’t schedule stuff without us. (This is not the sign of a powerful Ti leader. This is too pushy. Ti types explain things. It's an introvert function. Clay just pushes himself forward. That's extrovert function.)

Clay: When I agreed to do the project managing, I set out the rules beforehand and I said I won’t be taking no bullshit from anybody. This will show the guys that I can lead and I won’t be afraid to put them in their place if they won’t listen. (Gamma-delta.)

Clay: Markus, set us an appointment with the graphics designer ASAP.

Markus: I told him 11:20, he said to me, how about we make it 11:30.

Clay: Markus, why are we waiting for a meeting until 11:30?

Markus: To give us time to get ourselves ready for it.

Clay: I don’t want to wait till 11:30. I want to make it 11:00. (Compared to ESTps, Clay is too eager in making decisions. Compared to ISTjs he's too much of a straight talker. He just says 'I want' instead of inventing Ti explanations why his way is the right way.)

James: When Clay got elected project manager it was all over. No one could say anything. No one could do what they wanted. It was Clay’s way or the high way. (ISFp-INTp)

Clay: From now on, I ask you to schedule something ASAP, don’t schedule it for an hour later.

Markus: Not a problem my man. (Another issue is that Clay has been hating Markus from the first. Markus is INTj and has decent rapport with ISTjs like George)

Clay: 12:00 research is done. I would like to start pitching to the design team at 1 a clock. (Decision, schedule. This is Ni-Te-Si stuff. Things flow neatly into other things.)

Felisha: So we’re the demographic you guys. We need to think about what we would want.

Marshawn: I love the idea of a spoon and calling him Scooper. (Uh, ok. Notice though. She's strong par excellence, but when it comes to ideas, she's pitching weak. But she continues to react reasonably well to Felisha's Ni.)

Jennifer: I think it needs to be something like Spin. I love Spin. (Compare to previous. Jennifer pushes her ideas strongly.)

Toral reads from paper: Blizzard, blister, booster, boostoff.

Felisha: Toral was a nonfactor from the start. Her comments tend to be completely off track. (Men have Josh vs. Markus. Women have Felisha vs. Toral. Love the symmetry.)

    Toral: Bumblebee, blizzamarole…

    Kristi: What did you say?

    Toral: Blizzamarole.

Rebecca: I have the words: Zip, Zammon, Zue. (Notice how she's absolutely not pushing any ideas. She 'has the words' instead.)

Kristi: Zip is a cute name. (It's not about originality for her. It doesn't need to be her idea. No pride in Ne.)

Alla: It’s short, it hits like boom.

Jennifer: It needs to have personality, with big eyes, big lips and a spoon. He has like a pack with all the ingredients and he Zips . (Takes the root, creates an idea around it. Now Zip is her idea.)

Toral: He looks a little goofy in that.

Jennifer: And he’s got a little t-shirt with a dq logo. (More ideas. A good one.)

Alla: I don’t love that. (Lucky nobody remembered in the boardroom that it was you who torpedoed your team's branding attempts.)

Jennifer: I suggested having the dairy queen logo, on a shirt…Everyone else seemed to think that was… too much. The fact that I was a beauty queen makes people underestimate me all the time. (Oh, I'm so underestimated. ... Well, maybe you should have protected Melissa in the first task. Anyway, It's becoming obvious that the team actually DOES have people with high or semi-high Ne. So why did none of them step up for Melissa who supposedly had high Si? Well, firstly Melissa was narcisstic as hell and the person she tried to build bridges with wasn't Toral or Jennifer M, but Jennifer W, an illusionary. It was the first task so she hadn't really had time to notice the others. OTOH alphas aren't exactly known for sticking up for each other in a crisis anyway. So maybe it was just the lack of fighting spirit? )

Felisha: I’d like Marshawn, Toral, Rebecca to stay here. (the group of Felisha, Jennifer, Alla and Kristi is called the blonde coven or "the bloven" on T*** boards. This move by Felisha is pretty harsh. "The in crowd come here, the rest of you can stay here and twiddle your thumbs". This move is really political, nothing to do with individual skill.)

Carolyn: Jennifer, Kristi, Alla and Felisha are all working together. It’s very obvious that Toral and Rebecca are a little out of that inner circle.

Felisha: This was such a great collaborative effort. This was awesome. (She got to play the boss)

Kristi: Yeah! It really was. Everybody added something.

Felisha: Everybody in this van. (Further making fun of the others. She's got a betaish streak on her. Quite mean.)

Kristi: Yeah. Well, you know. (She's not happy about that. I've been suspecting she's Fi subtype for some time.)

Mark: I think we need to be dramatically different. We may go the female route.

Adam: We wanted a character that would really encompass the idea of magic, so we came up with “Jeannie”.

Josh: I’m thinking for a young kid it’s like a motherly figure, for a teen it’s sexy.

Clay: I’m loving it. And her belt buckle… totally DQ. (None of that, let's make this better positive-process thing. This is positive-results.)

Randal: When we bring out the Genie, people will want to hang with her, and do everything with her. And come get a blizzard.

Clay: All right, if you need us, call us. (Si, expecting Ne)

Clay: Mark and I went to the costume studios to discuss with the designer what’s possible.

Clay:What we’re trying to do is to make her look like she’s a genie from Alaska or Antarctica. We’d like her to look almost edible.

Clay: Jeannie has really great flowing hair that’s almost like ice cream. Fairly large breasts and lots of dairy queen bling. (Is the breast size an important marketing decision? Hm.)

Designer: We need to know who’ll dress in this.

Mark and Clay look at each other.
Mark: I’ll do it. I’ll dress up. (This is the essence of Se. He makes the decision and enacts it personally, immediately. This is socionical aggression at it's most obvious.)

Clay: I never would have guessed that this boy from Kentucky would have ever wanted to be a drag queen essentially. (Wanted to be? Well, who knows, but I think this is more likely that Clay would want him to want.)

Mark: So give me boobs and a nice mask... Make them big. (This certainly doesn't seem like a marketing decision.)

Mark: I don’t think my redneck buddies will ever have seen a drag diva queen like I will be. I think it will probably be a lot of years before I live this down. (Mark's Ti is occasionally shadowed by his Fi.)

Felisha: Here’s the final picture of Zip, and I tell you there are no dairy queen symbols on her, just the word “dairy queen”. (She's Ni vs Ne fighting Jennifer and making a bad decision while doing it.)

Felisha: I have another question for you guys.

    Toral: Go ahead.

Felisha: Toral, would you be interested in being the character? (She's requesting an aggressive 'Yes, yes, I want to do it!' Not something particularly likely to happen.)

Toral: I would, I would prefer not to, honestly. (Big surprise.)

Toral: That character was a childish character. And then all of a sudden it comes to me, that Felisha’s demanding that I do it. And I just ignore her. (This 'ability' to ignore unwanted things is what IJs tend to be famous for. EJs do a slightly similar thing, but they tend to be forced to make a separate decision to disregard something, they tend to make a point about it as well. It works a bit differently.)

Felisha: I’m just asking you to step up and say: Ok if that’s where you’ll need me to be.

Toral: But it’s just honestly something I’m uncomfortable doing. (Being uncomfortable is not an excuse for beta-gammas. They don't care.)

Felisha: What, why are you uncomfortable doing it? (Difficulty with the concept. Thinks it's a trivial reason whereas it's a strategic one.)

Toral: I just don’t feel comfortable in that sort of position. I’ll help however else I can. I mean I’d love to be involved in the presentation if possible. (Unable to give a trivial reason.)

Felisha: Ok, that’s where I needed you to be and you weren’t able to step up to do it.

Kristi: Done. Done. Done. Done! I’m SO OVER her. (Takes pride in being able to step up. Conflicting with Toral.)

Josh: The little boy holding the cup and out of the cup comes the genie.

James: When Clay and Mark went to the studio, they left the six of us there to make the campaign.

Adam: How long do you want us to make the jingle? 30 seconds?

Adam: We were putting together a jingle. This will be something that the executives will love. Everyone really bought into that idea.

Brian: My delicious wishes are at your command… at every dq across the land.

    Adam: Oh!

Markus walks around nodding his head.

Randal: Somebody’s eating a blizzard, baby, and fun is what I’m about. If you want to taste delicious wishes just come and let me out. (Rhyming. Is that more Te or Fe? Anyway, Randal is multitalented.)

Josh: You are so right *high five* (Emotion-creation)

Adam sings the jingle… (He's studies singing. This single act has no socionics connections. But what about the willingness to study singing itself, hm.)

Brian slaps the table a number of times for emphasis. (Brian is extremely animated. I think he has to be extrovert. Either ESFp or ESFj methinks. The difference here is whether I'm attributing this to an outburst of emotion or an outburst of physical behaviour. )

Josh: Randal wrote a great jingle but Adam nailed it with how to sing it and how to make it sound.

Brian: I love it. (He's at least professing strong emotion.)

Jennifer: We have fifteen minutes to get there!

Felisha: She’s gonna do it, because I’m the Pm, I’m her boss. (Very optimistic)

Alla: I don’t think she will. (Pessimistic. This difference between Felisha and Alla is quite constant.)

Felisha: I tried to ask Toral to step up to the plate. I have asked her to be the costume character, but she said no. Toral was going to be in the costume, end of story.

Felisha: Umm, listen everyone. There was an issue earlier on who’s going to be the mascot. I thought I’d figure out it was Toral. Toral does not want to do it. (Compare to above. She's not really that sure of her ability to actually dominate a situation.)

Kristi: Toral, how about stepping up? (That's a verbal gut-punch.)

Toral: I’m really requesting … there are other people that would rather do it. (O Rly? See that would have been Melissa, the attention whore. Pity you did nothing to keep her in the team.)

Felisha: It’s not that they’d rather do it. They hear your response and they try to step up to the spot.

Toral: It just makes me really uncomfortable to do it.

Felisha: Are you telling me that even if I tell you, Toral this is your responsibility, you’re not going to do it? Just be clear! (Te)

Alla: Toral was like … I don’t feel comfortable doing this… And all we wanted to know was… Why? (Alla is so obviously 'taciturn' instead of 'narrator'.)

Toral: I can’t do it because it’s gonna embarrass my family. I know it’s gonna embarrass my employer and I know it would embarrass my family. (This is kind of interesting. If she really cared about her family, really, she'd be more Fi. But what's the constant here is the fear of embarrassment, Ti.)

Jennifer: They’re not going to know you’re in there, Toral. (Of course they will. It appears in tv.)

    Toral: Absolutely!

Alla: If I do it, should I be embarrassed? If we have like a construction task and we have to clean toilets, will your family find that embarrassing? (Alla full of questions. Not afraid to challenge verbally. Creation-creating. She really wants to know.)

    Toral: Well that’s different.

    Alla: How is that different?

Toral: I don’t know why they want ME to do it. Imagine that mr Trump would ask Carolyn to wear that sort of mascot costume, you know. I’m sure she would tell him to take a hike.

    Lots of shouting, including:

Kristi: She’s a bitch! We’re better of without her.

Toral: Kristi, calm down for a second.

Kristi: No, step up to the plate Toral!

Toral: No, I just can’t do it. (Ne-negative to the max)

Rebecca: I was uncomfortable with the way the team just raked Toral over the coals. I think that these people have already made up their minds that Toral shouldn’t be here, and that they don’t want her here anymore. (She DOES care about 'comfortability'.)

Jennifer: Rebecca, don’t feel bad for her, please. (Funny that. Structured like a command. Don't feel bad! Or what? She feels bad if she wants to. Anyway, Jennifer being the one of the crowd to make overtures to Rebecca fits with her being ENTp)

Rebecca. Ok. (Ok. If you tell me I mustn't feel bad, I won't. Eh?)

Mark: I hope we’ll dazzle them when we walk in.

James: After six hours of work we were pitching ideas to our fearless leader. (James tends to be quite negative. Anyway, he doesn't like Clay. I think it's Fe vs. Te.)

Clay. Tell me what you’ve all been doing. Pitch me your idea. (He's not an ideas person himself.)

Randal: Okay, the latest incarnation is that the genie will be flying above on a cart and these ingredients will magically appear and they will fall into a blizzard. (Randal is magic)

Clay: I think it requires an explanation. (Clay is concrete details)

Randal: How does that require an explanation? (How does stuff magically appearing require an explanation?)

Clay: It’s not grabbing me to go buy a blizzard. It’s grabbing me to go buy ice cream. (Reasonable point. Straight-forward.)

Randal: Clay begins to unravel everything that we’ve been working on. (It's like Clay's not a team player. If Clay was aggressive due to Se. Randal would love him and handle him perfectly. It's not Se but Te.)

Clay: The usage of this character could be the deciding factor in this! (Well, it could)

Markus: Hold on now, finish the thought.

Clay: Stop, stop for two seconds and I don’t want you to speak until I tell you to speak, okay.

Josh: Clay’s absolutely being a tyrant. I would call him something between Napoleon and ******. I hope Clay’s creativity makes off for it. There’s absolutely zero doubt in my mind who’s responsible if we lose this task. Zero, it’s clay. (If Josh is ENTj and Clay is ISTp, he's being supervised by Clay and not liking it.)

Clay: I want to put the fear of losing this into everybody in this room. Because I want to win this thing. (Basically he's saying that he's afraid.)

Mark: Clay, James, Brian and I, headed up to the studios and I tried on the genie outfit this morning.

Brian: Okay, I’m ready to do it. *has trouble looking at Mark in a bodystocking. (He's very reactive)

Mark: Oh geez, look at this.

Clay: Let’s go look at him.

James: We’re trying to make this sexy DQ genie. Mark is the most intimidating genie I’ve ever seen. It’s scary to see him. (Hm? Scared of his Se?)

Clay: Are we going to be able to duct tape him? (Heh, micromanaging)

Designer: Why would you duct tape him?

Clay looks at Mark’s penis: Well…

    Designer: Oh, that!

Mark: I have no problems with the breast implants and I have the wig but when someone mentioned something about taping up a certain part, no. You know you’ve got to draw the line somewhere. (Mark is quite capable of looking after himself.)

Brian: Sweating, buddy? Oh my! You’re going to have your fifteen minutes of fame *laughs* (I'm thinkin ESFj > ESFp. Brian's a joker. I'm thinking ESFj-Fe, like Rebecca.)

Felisha: Okay, how do we feel? Positive?

    Toral: I’m…I’m…

Felisha: With a smile! You’re looking good. (Emotion-creation, but also just bidding for more Se.)

Kristi: I was not in the presentation, because Toral wouldn’t put a button to the costume and I finally said, I’ll do it. So I have nooo respect for Toral. I don’t want to talk to Toral. I don’t even want to look at Toral. Toral is a frigging goober.

Jennifer: I’m going to put this hose in your hand.

Toral: That suit was an absolute embarrassment, and Kristi just looked like a fool today. My judgment was 100% on target and I don’t regret it for a minute. (It's convenient when one is the only judge of one's previous judgments)

Jennifer: Thank you for doing this Kristi.

    Kristi: You’re welcome.

    Marshawn: Better win!

Jennifer: Who is Zip? Zip is a brand new character. A new creation. Zip is fun, energetic and full of energy. *Kristi wiggles her hands* You see her huge eyes, cute inquisitive little eyebrows, and a big, big smile. The kids are going to love this. Zip has all of these compartments with all of the ingredients that he uses to make the perfect blizzard. Now when someone needs cheering up, he takes on in his rocket shoes and he zip-zip-zips to the rescue. (This woman is fun.)

Rebecca: When Jennifer showed to the executives that Zip goes zip-zip-zip, I thought oh my gosh. This is ridiculous. (This woman is status.)

Manager: You mentioned Zip appeals to kids… we sell a lot to teenagers.

Jennifer: You’re right, we shouldn’t leave the teenagers out. That’s a huge amount of your business and I know that Zip will appeal to them, as long as they love the gadgets. Teenagers love gadgets! Adults love gadgets! (Some quick Ne inventing there.)

Manager: How does someone who has never seen Zip with Dairy queen or Blizzard identify that Zip is associated with Dairy Queen?

Lots of quizzical looks. Most people look at Jennifer, Jennifer looks at Felisha, smiling.

Marshawn: I can take that one, if that’s alright. You see the swirl, which obviously is the shape of the blizzard and they will definitely at least recognize the dairy queen spoon, so we wanted to make sure that there were DQ trademark products incorporated into Zip. (I think she might have thought this through in her head before. A well-structured speech.)

Clay: Thank you for having us today. We here at the Excel corporation would like to introduce you to the newest member of your DQ family. Please join me in a warm welcome to Jeannie, the blizzard genie.

Randal: We were all particularly into seeing their reaction when Mark walked in with the costume. You could sense a feeling of excitement and enthusiasm both from us but more importantly from the executives.

Clay: From her flowing, soft served hair to her wonderful DQ bling, all over her body, all the way down to her royal DQ colours, she’s easily adaptable to any retail location throughout the world. We have Mark in it today, who easily fits in as Jeannie the Genie.

Manager: Why did you choose a female character?

Clay: She’s larger than life. Something that’s attractive to both girls. She’s attractive to older men, she has some sex appeal to her. She attracts a broad base of who you want to attract to Dairy Queen.

When the victory is awarded, Brian hugs Clay. (More of those emotional outbursts? Does he actually like Clay? I need to keep looking at this thing. I still think these two fellers are the weakest typings of the bunch.)

Toral: What the girls had done was an extremely superficial analysis of the DQ brand. I was pleased to see, here are people who are finally going to be put in their place. (That's a very superficial analysis of the situation. You are not the judge here. Anyway, the habit of imploding and destroying everyone around oneself is again visible.)

Josh: We voted exemption at this stage, because the reality is that we did win under his leadership. He made decisions, he did a decent job. (I think he was partly going with the flow and trying to save his dignity to the camera, though that's just a guess.)

    Clay: Thank you guys.

Toral to Felisha: You could have easily said you know there’s a way to handle it. (ENTJ-INTj-controversy)

Felisha: I handled it over the phone very nicely.

Toral: I said that I have a personal and a spiritual belief about that stuff. (Lying.)

Felisha: Toral, you obviously didn’t demonstrate that, to that group.

Toral: No, I said that there are personal and spiritual beliefs that stopped me from. (She didn't. )

Felisha: No, mainly you said that there were personal reasons and it sounded like an excuse. So my point is that if you wanted me to know that that was your case, you need to pull me aside so I can back you as well, and you didn’t do that. (Ni guessing in the early part.)

Toral: I’m really disappointed over how that was handled. (Disappointment is what you're all about, baby.)

Felisha: Guess what, I’m disappointed too. (Perfect symmetry)

Felisha: After we lost, she started thinking “I could go down for this”, I better come up with a reason nobody can argue with. Oh! God! Whatever my deity is, that’s my reason. (Reasonable assumption, but just guessing.)

Felisha: She’s going to turn it into a religious thing. Bullshit.

Kristi: Did you say that? (Shocked by her frankness. ESFp shocked by cursing. I'm really thinking Fi subtype.)

Felisha: I said if that’s the case, and I’m not sure it was…

Kristi: Then say it at the beginning! She said it was demoralizing.

Kristi: Toral says “I can’t be in the costume because it’s against my religion.” That’s ridiculous. If it’s against your religion, say it in the beginning. Say “You know guys, I’d love to help, but it’s against my religion. Let’s work on a solution. It’s not against her religion. That’s bullcrap. (Or maybe she's just shocked when someone else curses, lol. Yeah, she does cuss a lot.)

Mark: Frankly, if every time that I put on a women’s dress, I can go play baseball with a pro team, I’d be a drag queen every weekend. (Not particularly interested in status.)

Brian molests a Mets doll when someone mentions that he’s a yankee fan.

Donald: Whose the player here? James, did you play?

    James: I played in college.

Adam: James is pretty kickass out there. I think if it doesn’t work out for him, the Mets has got an opening for him. (Ne seeking Si. )

James: Just like the mets, Excel corporation wants to use everybody’s talents, combine them together to win. So we’re like the Mets. Mets is going to win. Excel is going to win as well. (Interesting story there. I don't really know what to make of this. Does he REALLY think his team is like the mets? I think he's just trying to get pumped up but I don't know. Anyway, I think Fe.)

Felisha to Jennifer: Toral really screwed up.

Jennifer: Hmm, yeah. (I think Jen can imagine herself being at the receiving end of this kind of talk and doesn't like it. Besides, she's not really agreeing on who's to blame for the loss.)

Felisha: I mean it was big this time. It wasn’t just that we didn’t like her.

Jennifer: I don’t think Toral was the reason we lost this task. My initial instinct was to put DQ branding on Zip. We needed people to see in a glance that he was DQ, he was blizzard. Felisha didn’t push for it. (Jen dislikes Felisha, but kind of hangs around anyway.)

Jennifer: So who’s in charge of strategically placing this character into Dq’s…

Felisha: Everybody. (Nice copout. If it's everybody, then it's the PM according to Trump rules. This wouldn't probably fly in the boardroom and I don't think it flies for Jen.)

Jennifer: So no one person was in charge of that.

Felisha: It’s a really big thing to be in charge of… I just don’t feel like that would fall on one person. (What I'm wondering is that if she remembered that it was Alla who first attacked the idea, would she try to make a patsy out of her?)

Toral: The geniuses in this team come up with song and dance routines that don’t impress executives. That was their version of a marketing campaign.

Rebecca smiles a social smile and nods. (Duality isn't all roses.)

Toral: What goes around, comes around. For these people attacking me without cause, I think they just got what they deserved and honestly, I’m happy that they lost!

Toral: You know, my strategy was always: Let each of these individuals self implode. You know because they’re so stupid, they’ve no intelligence and no backbone. (NT negative rational.)

Rebecca cringes. (It's tough to cheer up your duals sometimes.)

Toral: They tried to turn this into a popularity contest rather than a contest about the issues of why we failed. They’re going to get a fight. (She's not that weak really. I think she's a balanced subtype. She's so obviously INTj, she shows occasional shreds of both Fi and Se but those are really rare. What she really seems to hate is not a function but the concept of being ISFj.)

    Felisha: Allright ladies. Let’s go.

Marshawn helps Rebecca with her luggage to the boardroom. (Se. "I'm strong" heh. Shows a bit of Fi there, too. Incidentally helping Rebecca will not continue that long in later episodes.)

    Donald: What happened?

Felisha: Sir, there were a few reasons that we lost this task.

Donald: You didn’t even have branding on the character. (Trump is very big on branding)

Felisha. That’s not true sir. It had a spoon that said Dairy Queen. (Doesn't have a clue about branding.)

Carolyn. It wasn’t branded. You had the name on the spoon, you saw maybe the D and maybe the end. You didn’t see the words. (Not much liking there. ISFp-ENTj conflict.)

Felisha: We believed that the blizzard itself was the brand of the Dairy queen. (Nice choice of defensive methods... but at this point she was going down.)

George: They spend all this money for brand identification. That’s what they look for right away.

Jennifer: I suggested that he have a dairy queen t-shirt on him. (She did.)

George: Why wasn’t that used. (Who struck down the good idea? Who's the culprit?)

Marshawn: The whole team decided not to go with it but I do remember Jen requesting it. We changed it. (Marshawn saves Felisha or Alla. Won't be getting much gratitude from Alla though. I don't think Marshawn likes Donald. ENTp- ISTj? ENTp-ISFj? Marshawn acts quite ISFjish sometimes, but it might be that ISTj-Se would find it convenient to act gammaish in this team.)

Donald: Why didn’t you want that?

Marshawn: There’s nothing to say to that. (This feels to me like the same kind of non-defence defence that Kwame used on season 1. 'That's just the way things are, do your worst'".)

Donald: Toral, why did you lose? (At this point I think Donald still likes Toral. More to the point he wants Toral to also prove that Rebecca was right in saving her.)

Toral: Mr Trump, I believe that this group is outstanding at setting up balloons and cheese trays and making song and dance routines, which I believe are parts of event planning. I don’t think they’re components of strategic marketing. Strategic marketing is about place, product, promotion, distribution, targeted position. (Some Ti lecturing there.)

    Donald: So where were you?

Kristi: She was no assistance, sir. (Another of Kristi's trademark verbal punches.)

Toral: I was saying that over and over… It’s like you almost have to scream… (She was nowhere near screaming.)

Toral; Mr Trump, we have a politically divisive group that, every time when there’s an idea from this side, they.. (The Markus defense.)

Donald: When you say this side, do you mean you and Rebecca? (She obviously did. Toral seems to feel that she's Rebecca's ... commander.)

Felisha: What ideas? (This could be spun as Ignoring Ne, but Toral wasn't shown to particularly give any particular interesting ideas the way Markus did.)

Toral: Every time you have an idea, they roll their eyes… Mr Trump, I would fire Felisha in a minute. She’s inappropriate, the way she handled the….. Mr Trump, Felisha compelled me to wear the costume and because I did not want to wear that costume… (From her IJ point of view, her being compelled to do anything is treason enough.)

Donald: Wait, why wouldn’t you do it? (From his EP point of view one should use that as an opportunity and be proactive.)

Toral: Two reasons, I would characterize them as personal and also cultural. I think it takes a lifetime to build a reputation and some small judgment errors that really destroy a reputation. And I think that wearing a chicken suit or wearing a Zip outfit… that’s contrary to the image. (Footbullet of epic proportions. I think this is where the tide turns and Donald starts turning against Toral)

Donald: I wore a chicken suit. Did anybody see SNL. (Ouch.)

    Most people laugh.

Toral: But you’re mr Trump! I am an up and coming business-person. … And the second reason obviously had to do with some cultural values, some religious values and I think that I think this is not the forum for.

Donald: Are you using religion? If you have a real religious issue with this I have respect for you. (If Donald liked Toral he could as easily say: "religion is important, you were right", but now he's attacking her instead.)

Toral: There is an absolute religious tenet that I have.

Donald: Did you ever tell that to the others? (Looking for weak spots.)

    Chorus: No!

Donald: Did you say religion, remember you have to tell the truth.

Toral: I believe I did. (Backs down.)

    Chorus: No she didn’t.

Donald: I don’t think so… When you say “I believe I did.” You know…Let me tell you something, the fact that you said that means you didn’t. (At this point Toral seems doomed.)

Toral: I don’t want to get into these religious and personal conflicts that…

Donald: Rebecca, are you still a fan of Toral?

Rebecca: I think that when she said the night before that she would show us her leadership abilities the next day I think that she should have, the next morning… (One tends to underappreciate one's dual.)

Toral: Rebecca, when Felisha said that she’s a marketing genius, an expert in advertising.

Carolyn: You had a lot more to prove, so why didn’t you step up?

Toral: When she says that she’s a marketing genius… (You can go back up and check what she REALLY said, which was nothing like this.)

Kristi: She did NOT say that.

Toral: She says that she has lots of experience at marketing.

Donald: That’s a big difference. You keep making these statements and then changing the statements.

Donald: Rebecca, Did she say that? (At this point Rebecca has become Donald's "ethical chick (trademark)")

Rebecca: Not in those words, sir.

Toral: Not in those words but in the same… the idea is the same, mr Trump! (All about Ne, fuck the facts.)

Donald: You seem to use half-truths. Rebecca, if you were me, who would you fire?

Rebecca: I would have kicked myself if I never got to see what Toral was capable of doing…

Donald: Well now you’ve had an extra week… Are you impressed?

Rebecca: Mmhm, What bothers me mr Trump, is that she didn’t make a stronger case for herself to be project manager. I wanted to see her in that role. If I was the person in Toral’s seat I would have stepped up to the plate and made a really strong case for myself and said I absolutely have to do this. That’s why I stepped up when I broke my ankle, because I knew I would be seen as dead weight if I didn’t step up to the plate.

Toral: That is fair. You know, I accept that. I should have made a stronger case. Maybe you know, I do regret that. I should have put my foot down and said I definitely would… I admit it. Where I’m wrong I’m going to admit it but this is not about me. This is not the reason why we lost! (Accepting criticism from dual.)

Carolyn: What was the reason Marshawn?

Marshawn: I think Toral didn’t contribute anything and if you have a team member that doesn’t contribute, then they can’t be a part of the victory, or defeat. (I have trouble discerning this. Carolyn is ISFp. Does she see Marshawn as a beta activity partner, a beneficee, or a quasi-identical? Beneficee seems to make most sense.)

Toral: Mr Trump, because I did not wear the costume, I could not contribute! I was sidelined by the team. (The Markus defense)

Donald: You know what? They didn’t want you to contribute. They wanted you in the costume because they thought you were the weakest person on the team. (Donald likes fun, but he doesn't like weakness.)

Toral: That’s their opinion. You always say if you want to think like a billionaire, consider the source. Who is the source here? *sneers*

Donald: There’s a lot of sources, lots of people, including George and Carolyn aren’t really thrilled about your performance.

Toral: This divisive environment that we have, with individuals who don’t have a strong background. I have to beg to get competitive strategy here.. (Toral begging? WTF? That doesn't seem likely. And it's completely besides the point. Anyway, Trump's a tactical thinker so there won't be a decent discussion about strategy with him.)

Donald: If you had wanted to be project manager, then all these problems would be solved. (Donald would have liked Toral to become a leader. He likes leadership a lot.)

Toral: Absolutely, and you know what… I accepted the responsibility, but you know what, I wouldn’t fight for it.

Donald: Wait a minute Rebecca, who would you fire. (Now that he's going to fire Toral anyway, he needs to figure out if he can trust Rebecca. This could have been a double firing easily.)

Rebecca *shrinks in her chair*: Toral. The team won’t work with her on it. Unfortunately. (Giving up on a dual is tough.)

Donald: Finally you’re saying this. Was it so hard?

    Rebecca: It is very hard.

    Donald: Toral, you’re fired.

    Rebecca: I’m sorry.

    Toral: That’s ok.

Donald: I’m so disappointed in her. (I belive this is true, that he would have wanted Toral to show more.)

Toral: Some people take their personal dignity very seriously. I mean I’m a person of stature and respect. I mean, um in everyday life I wouldn’t even speak to somebody like Kristi or Felisha. I mean these are not people I would even hire as my administrative assistant. Honestly. So thank goodness this all thing is over with and I can just go about my business at this point. (Stature and respect? Anyway, given the events, her singling out Kristi and Felisha makes sense, but they're also the two most obvious gamma women.)

I like this thread, though the show's concept in general somewhat bores me. My favorite part is the commentary, for various reasons.

So, what's socionical about Toral's background info?

    TORAL MEHTA
Vice president in the capital markets group of a bank. At her age that's kind of impressive. She does have the Internet reputation of having severely padded her resume, but given how she acted in the series it's not surprising that she would rise some backtalk. Sort of fun is how she takes credit for just being a woman, too. But maybe that is understandable in a business situation. Though I do think that she probably considers it a strategic advantage in and of itself in some way.
Come to think of it, she explicitly mentions strategic thinking in the series, I think more than once. INTj's are supposed to be strategic.
Fluent in French, Hindi and English. Hindi and English are natural. French raises eyebrows. It doesn't seem strictly necessary. I think it shows some interest for academic studying.
Has traveled to 15 countries? So? I don't buy the advantage of that. This is just a gut feeling I have but I feel like it's particularly Alphas that parade their experience with weird locales.
'Working with top leaders'... Hmm... Maybe.
Graduate of Wharton. Ok. That's nice. But she doesn't mention what she studied there. Toral seems to be very strictly into the "I'm great simply because I associate with great things" school. It's not complete crock, but it comes quite close in my eyes.
Has worked for leading institutions such as Goldman Sachs and American Express. Again, more of the same. I mean, there are janitors who work for Goldman Sachs.
Skilled day trader and self-made multi-millionaire. ... ... This could mean anything really. But from my pov if this is true, it is impressive. Another thing entirely is that the stock exchange creates many many lucky people who are "self-made millionaires". More honest would be to say that there are NO self-made millionaire stock speculators. Which is what she is at best, a speculator. But she does appeart to be a reasonably good speculator, and I give her credit for that.
Her recent investments include luxury real estate and upscale restaurant projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn. She's all about quality, luxury. Those are very alpha things. I would be extremely surprised if this wasn't a part of her day trading philosophy as well.
Has homes in Miami Beach and London. So? Or maybe it's more like someone else would mention they have a cat. Ok, so she has the homes. Fine.
In the interview part she is very terse and offputting.
She considers herself a success. Or claims to. In my opinion she was defending herself against the question. She seems in no way to actually feel good about herself. She seems more like she's justifying herself.
She claims to lead by example. I literally laughed out loud about that one. I think what she probably means is that she pays no attention to others or leadership and just considers herself exemplary.
She claims to deal with personal and professional challenges... Spiritually. I would have actually expected to read "Intellectually" there. Ok, so what do I get from this one. She isn't a strictly logical candidate, she's not dominated by the scientist kind of image. She elevates other mental attributes as well. Ok.
"Focus and determination - pursue your goal like a tiger would his prey, and don't stop until it is yours." In socionics terminology this would be 'strategic', and probably 'result' as well with a hint of 'static' as well, and rationality, and extrovert function. Anyway, what this does seem to me like is that she becomes blinded by her goals and is willing to use any tool that advances her goals.
She hasn't been inspired by previous winners and doesn't think about them... Big surprise there. She really does turn being selfish and evil into a virtue.
Her lesson from previous seasons of Apprentice: "It's a game - play your cards right." Except that Donald has pretty much explicitly stated that it's not a game. It's a job Immunity to Te.
    Internet reactions:
"A few Penn alums who know her mentioned that Toral has the chops to give Omarosa a run for the money in the drama and tension category. Delicious. Her interview Q&A certainly reveals she’s a PC-be-damned type -" Omarosa, Ij-Ti.
"Do your research on her. She'll come up empty handed...she'll rank up there with Omarosa as fronting much her success. Her brother has another tale to tell..." I'd like to hear this brother's story, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, another Omarosa reference. Though those tend to come up somewhat often, but not for nearly every candidate.
"Also, she was a visitor in Donny Deutsch's talking point show at one point." Donny's a probable ENTp-Ne in my books. That he's willing to call in this early-fired candidate gives me an impression there's affinity there.
Toral trademarked her name. Uh. Control freaky status orientation. Spiced with quite a bit of conceitedness.
Toral also acted a bit part in some Indian movie at some point. I don't know quite what to make of that since there's too little information. Obviously she's making appearances. Maybe this acting thing hints at something deeper behind the image, or maybe she was just practising? People who are high on emotion-creating tend to come out as a bit fake, since they don't even seem to believe their own message themselves. Maybe that's a part of the deal.
"On her website she allegedly had links to Alla's webpages, though she had, apparently, at some point said she wouldn't use a bathroom that Alla had used."
The anti-Toral brigade was really two gammas, Kristi and Felisha. Though Alla (ESTj) was friends with those two she wasn't a strong part of the attack against Toral. That Toral is venomous towards others is pretty much a given, but I guess there was no particular animosity between these two. It fits with illusionary relations I guess.

    Kristi Caudell

Sales executive. Human interaction. Probably extrovert temperament. Fits with the idea of her being ESFp
Exceeded sales estimates by 200% in the first months of her career, slowing that off slightly in the next months. Impressive nonetheless.
Soccer scholarship. Physical, at least some sensorics. Team sport.
Premature child at 16. ... Sex at an early age. Unwilling to put for adoption or abort. She happens to apparently be religious and has apparently supportive parents. Nevertheless, this fits ESFp.
Talks about having found the man of her dreams, and has marriage plans. Again, fits ESFp.

Her reaction to the first interview question:
Wow! ... This is an emotional response obviously. Very positive, outgoing, extrovert in the classical non-socionic sense.
She continues:"That is a tough word to define for myself. Some would say I am already a success after having a child at 16 and still going after everything I ever wanted out of life and not using her as an excuse not to." This "no excuses" thing is something that I tend to associate with strong Se.
She continues:"I would say one way to describe success in life for me is to have an affect on as many young women in the world as possible, for them to know that there is more out there after having a child at a young age and being a single mother. " This is another typical thing I find with Se people. She wants to have a strong effect. More to the point, this is strategic Se. She actually has a cause to show her strength as opposed to IJ tactical Se. Which I think Marshawn is showing.
Again: "I would hope through my actions other young women would become inspired to know if they just put their mind and heart into what it is they want out of life they can achieve anything." Just doing it with Se can achieve anything!
"Another way to describe success for me is being in the corporate world, reaching all my goals personally and financially, and having a blast all at the same time - loving what you do and making money all at the same time, that is success." Loving what you do, positive-process. Actually loves the corporate world. This'd be a weak gamma sign I guess. Though I know many enough ESFps who don't "love" the corporate world even if they're quite effective in it.
Her leadership is "do as I do". Quite sensory.
Says she can create high energy positive atmospheres. That too would fit ESFp.
    Deals with professional challenges:
"Personal and professional challenges are the best! When they come up I know that through that particular challenge or hurdle I am going to grow and learn something. I take the challenge that I am faced with, access it, and then come up with a solution to move forward. I do not dwell over anything that is put before me." She's basically anti-NT. "I don't want to sit around thinking". Also she's focused on learning. She has no claim on being a finished article.

She believes success comes through integrity. She defines this as knowing who you are and what you want. That's strategy in socionics parlance.
"If you do not know who you are then you wind up following the crowd, listening to other people when you really should be listening to your own heart and mind." She's static. She's her own person, a protagonist.

Anyway, just look at the length of her answers. She uses energy like nobody's business.

"I believe you need both, but I believe real world experience is more important."
Nicely put, it's certainly her deeds where she really shines.

"Being out in the real world is where you grow." Emphasis on learning and normalcy. I really, really like this person, btw.

Of the past apprentices she identifies Amy (INTp) and Troy (ENTj) as people she loves.

She likes Carolyn ISFp more than George ISTj or Donald ENTp, for whatever it's worth.

She was subsequently hired by Josh from the show, ENTj.

On her website she says she claims as a title to herself: Resilient, honest, strong-willed.
    This would fit ESFp.

She has most recently been doing business in publishing. That's quite an F field of business.

She is religious and active with charities. Again fitting ESFp.

So far my opinion of this next guy is that he's Ep-Se, slightly on the Ti side of things.

He's got an apparently succesful website which claims:
"Welcome to Lamkin Wealth Management, a unique community in which we strive to provide the best service you have ever received on a constant basis. A firm where "Randon Acts of Kindness" and special client events allow our clients to become "part of the LWM Family."" Acts of kindness. That is this guy acts, moves. Sensory. Anyway, regarding random acts of kindness, I do random acts of kindness. My ESTp brother also does random acts of kindness. The difference I sense in our activities is that my brother acts like a protagonist whereas I act in reaction to. Example: My brother might see that I'm thinking about buying a computer, he might come to the table and start telling me about what kind of a computer I should get because, invariably trying to sell me on some machine that is nothing like what I want or need. His random act of kindness is to decide what needs to be done and just doing it despite my protests. He "arranges" my things the way he wants them to go. My random acts of kindness tend to be that someone says to me in the net that they need to go visit their girlfriend who lives 4 hours of driving away in the middle of nowhere but they can't go because they have no money or car. I think for a moment and then say "Hey, what the hell, I'll take you there. I've got nothing to do today and I'm the kind of guy that helps people." Why am I saying this? I'm trying to make the point that it's not impossible for an ESTp to do random acts of kindness, they just do these things differently. They suddenly get the idea that: "Now I'm going to be kind! And then they start aggressively doing nice things for you whether you want it or not." Socionically speaking they might be momentarily acting ESFp at that point but who cares.

"Throughout this web site, you’ll find resources, tools and strategies we use to help our clients achieve their financial, professional and personal goals." To me, this seems like random market-speak.

"My experience on NBC-TV’s, The Apprentice, confirmed that the greatest rewards come to those who are willing to leave their comfort zones. Whether faced with challenges in business, relationships or your personal life, it’s up to you to determine if you are meeting those challenges head on, or stay on the sidelines of life."

People see the lessons they want to see. This guy "got confirmation" that greatest rewards go to those who are willing to leave their comfort zones. That's Se-Ni extreme for you. Obviously this guy chooses to face challenges heads on. He's Se.

"At Lamkin Wealth Management, our challenge to you is to take time to step out of your comfort zone to plan for your financial future. Whether single, building a family or soon to retire, we look forward to helping you develop a personalized strategy to achieve financial security at any stage of your life." Now normally, a strong Se person would be the last person I'd go to ask business advice for. But Ep-Ti can have a VERY business-like manner and more to the point they tend to actually have extremely convincing business-practise. Why? Because that's the image they want to give. An image of being a strong, business-man who knows their stuff, whether that stuff has any real value-making ability or not. If a businessman is way too slick for their own good, it's Ep-Ti.

"In building your plan, it's important for you to understand our system. Click here to see our Lamkin Wealth Management Solutions Video. This is only one of many distinguishing features of our firm. We look forward to seeing you in our office."

    "
Release Financial Worry To Embrace Life

A successful retirement is a dream shared by every working American. Unfortunately, it remains just a dream for nine out of every 10 who find they do not have enough money to meet their retirement needs. Experts estimate that to be successful in retirement, you will need at least 80 percent of the income you earned in your final working years."

This guy is selling dreams. Also, what experts?

"I specialize in helping my clients meet their retirement goals by providing them the guidance they need to achieve the retirement of their dreams. And I can help you do the same, through an investment strategy designed to meet your needs."

Retirement investment is kind of handy in that the supposed payoff is only going to be years and years away. Anyway, this guy is "guaranteeing" that he'll help people achieve their dreams through investing. Based on what? His personal strength? ESTjs tend to bring their uncertainty out, explain the data that we base our information on and explain the process that we're going to undertake. This guy makes personal guarantees of results. ... I continue to make the distinction between ESTps and ESTjs based on the fact that this guy is a rather obvious EST type based on his energy-spending, physical mobileness and activity, confromtational manner and business-like communication.

"Our Seamless Proactive Services (SPS ®) approach is supported by a full team of professionals that work hard to help you achieve your financial goals. Regardless of which service you choose, we will review your portfolio proactively, anticipating your needs to ensure your investments keep pace with the changes in your life."

I certainly believe this guy is going to be proactive in stuffing business plans down my throat. I'm not that certain that he's going to really listen to my needs.

"As a Registered Financial Consultant, Lamkin's financial licensing is under the jurisdiction of the NASD through Linsco/Private Ledger, the nation's #1 independent brokerage firm for 10 consecutive years (as reported by Financial Planning Magazine, June 1996-2005)."

Nice piece there. Someone might just miss that the magazine article and the recommendation doesn't refer to the man but the people licensing him.

"Having reached his target net worth goal by the age of thirty-five, Mark T. Lamkin is no stranger to success. From growing up in rural Bullitt County, Kentucky where he was the first in his family to attain a college degree, Lamkin went on to earn an MBA degree while forming Lamkin Wealth Management."

For the record, I do think this guy is good at what he does and I find him impressive in many ways. I also wouldn't particularly trust him or his product without some data on his investing ability rather than his selling ability. From all I see on the guy's page I start thinking he might as well be running a ponzi scheme. I think this guy's ability is to sell himself and attract investors with his business-like tough guy manner, not the ability to actually conduct business. Who knows, he MIGHT have both, but I'm not seeing the latter here.

"Lamkin's love for business and negotiation has netted many successful land and business deals. And prior to forming Lamkin Wealth Management, he was named Top Representative for nine consecutive years for a financial services firm in Louisville, Kentucky."

Negotiation is a particularly strong suit for Ti+Se people. They go aggressively for what they want and give the other guy pittance. I try to never compete in the negotiation table with these people. ... Not that I do a lot of negotiation anyway.

"The Lamkin Wealth Management investment philosophy revolves around an investment process. We believe that by managing money in a defined system, we can help control risk and possibly enhance returns. Lamkin Wealth has already developed our five step proprietary process to help achieve your goals. Our five step process is as follows:"

Notice. ESTp explains a process and guarantees results. ESTj explains data and guarantees a process.

"Creation of model portfolios based on asset classes believed to be in a long term up trend. We understand short term anomalies occur; However, we identify long term trends and we position our clients in front of the trends."
Believed by whom? Identified by whom? He's talking about Ni, but I don't get any "familiarity" from him in relation to it.

"Invest our clients in an investment process. We will not buy investments that are chosen at random and simply hope for the best. We will not buy on tips or rumors."
Umm... You just said that you base your invesments in beliefs of the future.

"Monitor the funds and managers on a quarterly basis in order to optimize returns based on their holdings, returns, ranking, and correlation to each other."

My bullshit bingo is rapidly filling up it's squares.

"Use an independent watch list to monitor our funds, stocks and best in class investment vehicles.
Utilize four independent research organizations to monitor material changes within stock and funds. These firms enhance our investment entry and exit decisions. (Value Line Investment Survey-Professional edition, Standard & Poors, Morningstar, and CDA Weinberger)"

    Yawn. Sure.
First eliminate every possible source of error. Thence success is inevitable.

"He founded and sold more than eight successful businesses over the past ten years while working for PNC Brokerage. During his time at PNC, he was also the firm's top producer for nine consecutive years in the Kentucky and Indiana region. After leaving the firm, he launched Lamkin Wealth Management, which has vaulted to the top two percent of LPL firms nationwide in just three-and-a-half years. Mark's goal is to manage $100 million dollars in five years. He and his wife Jennifer have two children."

This guy is a highly active-doer. He has enormous faith in himself and obviously not entirely without reason. His goal is to get 100 million dollars of other people's money in his hands. Nice.

    From the interview:
"I consider myself "a success" today," First attacking the question, the implication that he's a loser now.

    Then the true answer:
but I realize that true success is a process, and not an event. Success is a state of mind that you control, and it means different things to different people. To me, success means making my children smile, making the people around me better, making life easier for someone who is less fortunate, and being able to laugh at myself and not take life too seriously, but all-the-while driving to reach personal and business goals. True success lies within the journey of life, not a milestone of money, status, or promotions."
    Success is "positive-process".

"How would you describe your leadership style?
My leadership style is visionary. I have a burning desire to help people reach their potential, both personally and financially. I believe a person's level of success is determined by the size of their dreams, or specifically, their goals. I lead people through simple exercises that help them define both personal and business goals. I reinforce those weekly with motivation and reminders of what life will be like when they reach their goals. However, you cannot lead someone that does not have a burning desire to be better. I give direction, motivation, and help when needed; after that, I give that person the room needed to flourish or fail."

I actually get quite a bit of Ne from this. When he talks he gives mostly Ti, but he also talks about Ne and acts highly Se. On the whole he is mostly ESTp, but I'm wondering whether I should switch to thinking about him as an ESTp-Ti instead of ESTp-Se. Quite possibly.

"How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
It really depends on the type of challenge it is. As I have matured, I have learned to react much differently. In my 20's, I would immediately react to various situations. Often times, it was emotional and harsh. I found that it is always better to take 24 hours to think challenges through, seek advice from friends and mentors, and then decide the best plan of action to meet (and beat) the challenge. The 24-hour rule has really helped me make more educated and mature decisions and has kept me from inserting my foot deeply in my throat! On the other hand, it's allowed me to make hard decisions at times. Remember, if you make business decisions with your heart you end up with heart disease!"

What can I say, he's matured. That's nice.

"Without question the answer is a good heart. Most people will answer this question by saying passion, drive, ambition, loyalty etc. But I assure you, if someone doesn't have a good heart, they will never reach their potential in their business or personal life."

I'm thinking this is a guy who's recently found his Fi and is experiencing snippets of happiness. He's fought for his business and made himself a success and now he's experimenting with new things, taking time off to spend with his kids, spend time being actually nice to people and not such hardass all the time. That kind of thing.

"If you don't have a good heart, you will be driven toward the wrong goals, be loyal to the wrong type of people, and you will never enjoy the journey of success. I have met a number of very, very successful and wealthy people that don't have a good heart, and they are the most miserable, driven people I know. Have a good heart and work to make everyone around you better."

It's actually great how he spins loyalty and work ethic into evil. I think this guy would have a fit if he tried to live my life. Fun. Anyway, there goes the momentary idea of this guy being particularly high on Ti.

"The answer to this question clearly lies in the type of career you are going to choose. In my financial-planning firm, my two largest clients do not have college educations. One ran a few tire stores and the other owned a roofing company. They did not need college educations to be successful in their fields. On the other hand, obviously my clients that are surgeons were highly trained and educated. In the medical field, both are extremely important. I believe combining real-world experience with a college education gives a person the foundation to flourish and to reach their goals."

I have to say there's a definite difference between how he talks about his private person and what he wants to show as his business image. His business image is high on analysis and being tough, but he's kind of a sweetie deep down, isn't he?

He singles out Bill and Kelly as impressive due to their perseverance and determination. Kelly's persevering and determined. Bill? What? Anyway, he admires perseverance and determination. Ok. That fits with EP-Se. What strikes me is how he left out Kendra. My gut instinct of her was originally that she's IP-Ni. I think I have to seriously re-examine her case at some point.

He's learned from past seasons that: "First and foremost, I have learned to keep my mouth shut in the boardroom unless you are directly spoken to! Don't put yourself in harm's way unless you have to."

    Good lessons for the show.

He dislikes George and thinks he'd have arguments with Donald and he'd like to drop Carolyn down a peg or two. Yeah, I don't think he's particularly high on Ti.

"Absolutely. I am extremely thankful for the opportunity Mr. Trump gave me to compete on his show. However, as you can see, Mr. Trump changes his mind about as often as he has a bad hair day! My strategy was perfect. Each time I was on the losing team, I was not going to be called back to the boardroom by my project manager. The reason: I aligned myself with the project manager, and I was a integral part of the team. Furthermore, I always made meaningful contributions. Mr. Trump chose to bring me in because he was in a bad mood and loves drama, though he doesn't often make emotional decisions. In this case, that is exactly what he did and in turn, lost two of the best candidates on the show in Josh and myself."

Lol. I agree with him, btw. Of course Trump organization doesn't work on the Ni-Se axis so these people wouldn't be good for it. OTOH he ultimately hired Randal who's Ni too. So ... it happens.

"That is a great question and Bill accused me of "playing it safe". Well, when it comes to children in a batting cage, you're damn right I played it safe, and if he had children he would understand. Can you imagine Dick's getting sued because a child was hit by a baseball hurled at them from a 16-year-old temporary worker? Yeah...that makes great sense! Come on Bill, you're better than that! My love for baseball presented a great sales opportunity as I ran the batting cage that created a line of people for the entire day!!! My station gave the perfect opportunity for my team to sell product to. So, in effect, it was quite the contrary."

Nice spin. This guy has trouble admitting to a mistake or any weakness.

    Episode V

Mark: Right now it’s the blondes versus the brunettes (Mark seems to be a bit quiet in a larger group, but he gets very loud and energetic when with a smaller audience.)

Brian: Felisha’s gone. (Brian, I suppose is ESFj, as opposed to Felisha ENTj)

James: You… you can’t… (Slightly interesting. James, I believe, is ISFp, and one could believe that he's here defending a conflict partner from a mirror. But this is quite minor. He doesn't really say much.)

Brian: So gone. (Oh, I'm convinced now.)

Mark: She missed the target demographic. That’s on the head and shoulders of the PM. It’s all about team dynamics and the reason why we’re now winning this. Because we have good dynamics. (I still consider Mark to be ESTp-Se, but he's flashing a bit of Ti here. He's dictating a storyline.)

Adam is just listening quietly. (ENFp listening to the betas and alphas.)

Mark: They’re acting like a bunch of sorority girls who just got caught with sleeping with each others’ boyfriends. (I'm not sure is he attempting to be funny or rude or analytical.)

    Jennifer: We’re back. (Takes initiative.)

James: Hi! (suddenly happy) (Both James and Brian like or even love Jen. I'd give this some importance in pointing Jen towards ENTp-Ne as I've thought before.)

Jennifer: Was that fast? (Light-hearted, little substance.)

James: Who goes there? It’s all over? (Confused by change in routine, as usually boardroom situations take a while.)

Alla: Yep. (ESTj, matter of fact, dry.)

Brian: There wasn’t even discussion? (REALLY? It was just THAT special.)

Kristi: Hey, let’s go back to the bedroom. (Hey, no trafficking with the enemy! Collects the troops.)

James: That sounds fun, we’ll be right there. (Jokes while playing around with a baseball bat.) (Alpha turning gamma into a joke.)

Rebecca: The capital edge agreed that whatever happens in the boardroom, we’ll leave in the boardroom. We’ll have a meeting tonight and we’ll start tomorrow a task fresh and new.
(I guess she at least believes this will really happen. That people really forgive and forget and give their all. She's nice and naive. ESFj-Fe fits still.)

Kristi: What we’ve done, up until now, we got to let go. A new beginning. Bring what you have to the table and don’t hold back.

Marshawn: One of the things that I’ve felt is that we have a false sense of unity in some of our tasks. And I feel that we need to as much as possible cut out all the backtalking. I think everyone appreciates what you have to say so say it to their face. (She's so beta-Se, but I'm still unsure of whether I think ESTp is more likely than ISTj. I'm leaning towards ESTp at the moment for her behaviour here, but there are background reasons that push me towards ISTj-Se. One way to understand the whole thing would be to consider her as ISFj-Se here due to the influence of the gamma people, particularly Kristi, but as ISTj as a longer term type.)

Marshawn: I’m really tired of being around bickering women, honestly. And when we lose, it makes us even more divisive. Our fifth task tomorrow will really tell us whether we’re as strong as we think we are. (She's still all about strength.)

The appearance of Bill Rancic makes Marshawn glow? (Bill's INFp, Marshawn probably likes him whether she's ISTj or ESTp. No help there.)

Kristi: We want Randal. (ESFp likes Ip-Ni, what a surprise.)

Donald: You want a Rhodes scholar.

    Kristi: Yes sir.

Felisha: Capital edge picked Randal for two reasons. First we thought that he’d be an asset to our team and two we thought it would lose the men’s team to lose him. (Ni, understanding the larger framework surrounding the decision.)

Josh: It’s a very big deal that they took Randal from us. Randal has our secret sauce, knows our process and protocol, how we operate this team and knows every single member of this team and what our strengths and weaknesses are. So they have a HUGE advantage now. It’s gonna be a huge challenge to win this task. Huge. (Secret sauce? Huh. Emotion-creating. Josh is close to Randal.)

Felisha high fives Randal and hugs him. (ENTj likes Ip-Ni, also emotion-creation.)

    Brian: Seventh Floor!

Brian: It was time for me to step up and show my team I could be a good project manager. I’m gonna lead you guys to victory. (He's going to do it. Emphasis on his actions. What the heck's the team going to do if he creates the victory all by himself? Sensory>intuitive.)

Brian: We went to Sony’s headquarters to meet with the director and the executive from Sony and view the trailer. (Detailed, as narratives go.)

Adam: Can you tell us a little bit about the story of Zathura? (Very soft contact.)

Josh: Zathura’s a children’s book about two brothers who find this board game. As soon as they open the board game their house is actually uprooted from Earth and it becomes their space ship and they go on this wild adventure throughout the galaxy.

Jennifer: Hi, I’m Jennifer and this is Capital Edge. (ME! Oh yeah, and there's a team behind me too.)

Jennifer: I’ve wanted to be pm ever since I got here. I’m here to kick some major butt. I love managing and these are leaders here. These are very vocal people who have strong opinions but I still know that I’ll be able to manage them and be successful. (First time I remember seeing her with conviction. Nice. Anyway, I kind of wonder why she didn't really put herself forward last task, when Toral was fiddling around and Felisha kind of muddled into a leadership role. Anyway, I think there's a sort of random moodiness to her.)

Jennifer: So the board game is really a big part of the movie. A big focal point. (Board game. I think the correct idea is to identify that they are doing movie advertising, and that there is no board game called Zathura. Focusing on the board game is interesting on a conceptual level, but even if the story revolves around the game, the audience just might think it's more of a movie about kids in space. Robots, meteors and spaceships might be more interesting than... a board game. Maybe. *shrug* Anyway I think this fits with Ne.)

Brian: We have the title which is Zathura, which we have to brand as much as possible throughout this float because people are not going to know this float. It’s a new name and they need to be able to identify with it. So are we going to get the audio to say Zathura, Zathura, over and over again. James? Thoughts? Counsel? (Brian takes notice of James. A good relation. Focus on key task, might be a bit of Te there even? Maybe)

    James: It’ll be great.

Brian: Oh my god that looks phenomenal!

    Josh: Thanks, brother.

Brian: When you see this float coming at you in a parade, you would see the board game come to life. You would see robots, and meteors and space ships. We wanted people to feel the experiences these two boys had during the adventure of reaching planet Zathura.

Josh: I want to know what Markus is doing. (Contrary relation.)

Brian: Markus! Markus! Want to see if there’s any painting you could do?

Markus: Do I want to see what? (INTj interested in doing painting? Likely? No?)

Brian: Anything paintingwise. (Another dual trying to bring their dual into the team.)

Brian: Markus is a huge pain in the ass. He’s always been a pain in the ass. Today I thought I could keep Markus in a tighter leash as project manager because if he’s wandering around doing nothing, he offers no service to the team. And it’s difficult when you’re project manager, you’re managing ten different things at once and making sure everybody else is happy. (Now here's something interesting, this seems like ESTj-behaviour. So I think I'll have to label Brian as ESFj-Si. ESTj are known for being unappreciative towards others, even their friends. I don't think this comment voids the idea that he and Markus are duals. I think this shows that he is TRYING to help Markus and paying extra consideration to him, but feeling unsuccesful. Anyway, From other circumstances to be mentioned in the future it becomes obvious that Brian loves Jen and actually prefers activity partnership, so I guess he doesn't in some level just get the situation. Also, Brian is in the in-crowd of the group, and most people hate Markus, so it's kind of tearing Brian towards disliking him as well. Anyway, let's go on.)

Brian: I’m going to get you guys dinner. What do you want?

Brian: Markus, you’re good at this. Get us Chinese food! (He doesn't really get Markus. INTj fetching food now? Really?)

Markus harrumphs: How am I good at it?

Brian: You’re good at ordering food. (LOL)

    Someone: Get us sesame Chicken.

Markus: What I don’t do is take orders from you. I’ll get the menu. (Quite sensible really.)

Markus: I always feel somewhat marginalized. People in the team are constantly thinking about how they’re going to position me, should things go wrong but they’re going to find out that I’m definitely the Teflon player. This team will never set me up. (Unfortunately he isn't able to notice that there are some people in the team that could be on his side.)

Markus looks at menus with Brian.

Alla doing something with what I think is a nailgun: I’ll just finish the longer ones right now. (ESTj.)

Jen trying to describe something to Marshawn,
Kristi interrupts: There’s going to be a terrace, like veranda, going all the way across. (Ooh, I kept wondering something later on in the episode, but I think this is the point at which Marshawn turns on Kristi. This and possibly similar instances. Anyway, If Marshawn is ISTj, these three actually have a chain of supervision going on. Whereas if Marshawn is ESTp, it's more of a bouquet. Anyway, I think this shows that there's a concrete instance due to which Marshawn later on finds Kristi to be the troublemaker in the team.)

Kristi: My concept is to see the house in the original standing and then as the float passes by you, you see the house being ripped away and then you see the galaxy, so you kind of get an invitation to come, join this adventure. (I want to do it like this!)

Jennifer: So it’s… (Trying to get the idea.)

Kristi: I think that it should be this… and galaxy behind it.

    Jennifer: … Like…

Kristi: AND! Galaxy in front of it as well! (There's no idea, it's more of a vision.)

Jennifer: So not the transition, see, I really like the transition idea. (Concentrating on the idea, still.)

Kristi: It’ll still transition, Jen! (Let me do this! Let me do this!)

Kristi: I think it should be in front of the house. (Ne. Not really able to get his idea across the shouting. Bad with conflict.)

Marshawn: Kristi was extremely bossy and she was confrontational. She was even disobedient when Jen asked her to do certain things. Kristi makes the team miserable, and Jen is someone who can make it better. There are weak areas that Jen has, but I don’t that Kristi can improve with her attitude. (I feel that if Marshawn was ESTp-Se, she'd get Kristi better. I think the chain of supervision thing makes more sense.)

Kristi and Jen continue to argue about architecture.

Jen: Maybe you need to just listen before you put down your idea.

Randal: There seems to be a lack of respect, among certain members of the team. (Now this is also interesting. Randal is Ip-Ni. That much seems clear. But is he INFp or INTp. His technology shtick points a bit toward INTp but I'm actually thinking he might be INFp-Ni. He cares about people respecting others. And he seems to prefer Marshawn's point of view to Kristi's. Though that might be just them both being black. OTOH it's not clear that the two have discussed this issue and I'm inclined to think no on that.)

Randal: Unless we respect one another we’ll never do what the guys are doing and that’s been the key to the wins. (Randal is really big on team spirit and sociability and that kind of stuff.)

Jen: Kristi, every time you don’t like something, the way you say it is very very bossy.

    Kristi: Bold?

    Jen: Bossy.

Kristi: Ok. *happy* (LOL, these two understand each other "wonderfully".)

Jen: I’m really tired of it and a lot of people are tired of your attitude. You don’t think you have one and you do. You complain about little things. Please just try to roll up your sleeves, smile (She's ESFp. She has a wonderful attitude IMO. She's just quite hard to contain, that is if you want to contain her.)

Kristi: Ok *happy*. Jen, I’m doing a lot here. (She IS doing a lot.)

Jen: It doesn’t make it ok to complain and whine when I ask you to do something. (Whine? This is the odd part to me. Kristi is being hyperenthousiastic and the problem she's causing is more about power-mongering. Where's the whining. I see no whining. She's just overpowering Jen.)

Kristi: I’m not complaining and whining.

Jen: You are. (Why do you say it when it's blatantly not true?)

    Kristi: Oh really?

Jen: You just don’t know you are because that’s what you do. (WTF?)

Jen: Even if someone is a great performer, if they’re a complainer and a whiner and have a negative attitude, it brings the team down. Kristi needs to go, I’m sick of it. (Uh, of those two, Jen's the one who complains and whines. It's true that Kristi IS behaving badly in the context of being lead by an ENTp, but Jen isn't shining here either.)

Jen: Stop complaining about things. Stop whining about things and about work. (YOU're the one who is whining!)

Kristi: It’s really getting blown out of proportion.

Jen: Ok *leaves* (So bad with conflict.)

Boys’ team starts cleaning the place, Markus sort of waffles around.

Josh: Markus went from being someone that you marginalize to …this task, more than any other task he became a point of frustration, because of the heavy lifting and the sweating that I’m going through. Watching him standing around, procrastinating is so frustrating. I wanted him to either step up or step out. I can not stand his **** anymore. (He's not particularly appreciating the chance to get physical either.)

Josh: Quite frankly I don’t know what Markus has done. I’m tired of carrying his weight, he’d better start sweeping.

    Brian: Markus! What’s going on?

Markus: Come here for a minute.

Brian follows. (They're not the best friends in the whole wide world, but still, these two have a more functional dynamic than Markus has with anyone else ...besides Toral of course, now that she's gone.)

Josh: Guy skates his way whole through this process. (Given that from the first Josh just took up a semi-leadership position in the group and is calling orders on everyone, I think he's been doing some pretty smooth sailing himself.)

Markus: Earlier when you said to me, you’re good at ordering food, I take offense to that. (I'm shocked, SHOCKED.)

Brian: You take offense to it. You can’t take a joke? (Heh heh, I'm delta-alpha, you can't be mad at me.)

Markus: Ok, if that was a joke that’s fine. (Hah, I'm delta-alpha too.)

    Brian: Yea.

Markus: If we lose this, I know that you’re going to take me in. I’m just trying to tell you that I’ve been doing the best I can for you and this game that you’re playing with me. (Strategic positioning. Quite reasonable.)

Brian: Wow wow wow! You think I’m playing a game with you? (Me? I'm your friend!)

    Markus: Yeah.

Brian: You’re throwing a lot of hot air at me right now. I don’t want to hear it. If you’re going to bring this up before presentation, then you have some fricking balls! (It's sad to see them fight, when they could be such friends. )

Markus: I just wanted to tell you what’s on my mind. If you’re not interested then that’s fine. (It's not about the message, I'm just positioning myself for the boardroom.)

Brian: I’m interested to hear what you’ve got on your mind… (I'm always interested in other people's thoughts, because I'm a nice guy.)

Josh butts in: I’m tired of cleaning without you I need you to come clean… (Stop f***ing around you two, there's work to be done.)

Markus: Me and him we’re having a talk. (Excuse me you arrogant native, us civilized people are having a discussion and a cup of tea. Why don't you bugger off like a nice little peon.)

Josh: I’m the one who’s cleaning right now. I’m tired of your excuses bro. Clean!

Markus: Listen… I will do whatever this guy asks me to do. (Excuse me dear, following the chain of command is the only thing I have to do. I don't mind if the team fails as long as someone else gets fired.)

Josh: I’m tired of carrying your water.

Markus: You don’t have to care about my water. (Please, don't care about anything. I don't and I'm doing fine and dandy.)

Josh: I’m sweeping the floor. Let me tell you bro, your time is up. (The directness of ENTjs is often their downfall. Seriously, what can Josh actually DO?)

Josh: I’ve reached my end with Markus. I had to pick a broom and sweep for an hour and a half. He better be shoulder to shoulder with me, because I’m not going to carry him, I’m tired of him. Who is he, primadonna? (Well, yeah, but so are you. It's kind of funny to see two strategic thinkers go at each other, both full of positional analysis, both completely weaponless. )

Markus waves a hand through his hair.

Jennifer: Ok, so let’s go through presentation… umm…mentally, right now you guys.

Marshawn: Jen broke the team into two groups. I went with her, Randal and Rebecca to get a couple of items from a carpet store. I didn’t think we needed those items but she wanted to get them, even though we didn’t have much time. (I think this is a big deal. I've been thinking about whether Jen is ENTp or INFj. She chose to divide the team into the alpha-beta group and the gamma-delta group. She picked the alpha delta group to go with her. Anyway, she takes more than half the team to go shopping. It seems like horrid resource management.)

Marshawn: I thought we needed to spend that time practicing our presentation and finalizing the float. (Yeah.)

Alla: turn it on! Turn it on! Turn it on! How do you turn this on? Felish? Felish? (ESTj)

    Jen: Is this Alla?

    Felisha: No, it’s Felisha.

    Alla: It’s not plugged in!

Jen: Did you get the sign up? (Look at me, I'm managing a team!)

Felisha: You know what… (Apparently she just shut the phone so as to get on with things. Extremely insensitive.)

Alla: Tell her you can’t talk to her right now!

Felisha: I did, I just hung up on her. I don’t have time to deal with her asking questions right in the middle of deadline when they’re not here. (Well, it's true, but I'm still not sure that was the right thing to do. You're risking your neck for the team's victory here.)

Felisha: My project manager’s gone with half of the team and… we have like 45 minutes till the presentation and we started panicking. (Ok, I guess she acknowledges that she was a bit off-track there.)

Felisha: The name is not up. Things on the float are not done that are really important, like the Z on the planet… And all I can think of is “It’s not being done. It’s piss poor planning.” (She's right, but these tasks ALWAYS have piss poor planning, there's no time to do them in the best possible way. So this feels personal as well. ENTj-ENTp relations.)

Bill: Where’s the team leader? Jen M right?

Kristi: Yeah. Shopping. (ESFp slightly sweet on the INFp guy. Later on Bill defends Kristi, so it works.)

Bill: What is she doing, she’s shopping?

Kristi: What did they go get?

Alla: We’re doing this kind of a red carpet affair, so the girls went out to get red carpet. It’s a premier. (I guess she's trying to cover up for the boss. ESTj, benefactor to ENTp.)

Alla: Unbelievable. I’ll get off. You can put the Z up and we’re set to go.

Alla: It was crucial for us to finish the project up and make it presentable. If the name wouldn’t have been up there and that wasn’t finished and the floor wasn’t stained and the place was a disaster I think the second executives would have walked in we would have been disqualified. In my opinion we saved the day. (Could be.)

    Felisha: Brilliant!

    Alla: Brilliant!

Felisha: Brilliant! (LOL. I love it when this happens in real life.)

Brian: How’re you doing, Brian: Want me to… tell all about it? What we’re trying to do is take the board game and the movie and bring them to life. You’re feeling you’re a part of the experience. The house is on a track and what happens is the track would float from one experience to another, ultimately finishing its final destination. Experience number 1, running into robots. 2. meteor shower and 3. space ships. And what we also did, we talked about branding. Branding the name Zathura. It’s a hard name to pronounce. We talked about it yesterday. I fumbled on the name. So we included audio in the float. Let me play a little clip.

    ZATHURA!

Brian: And it does that in a loop. So we talked about the name. I’ve got to tell you, when we talked about the name… Zathura… What’s Zathura?

Brian: As a kid, I definitely saw E.T. with my family and I enjoyed. It’s something that I really remember when I was you know 12 years old which was like what… a year ago… And I remember watching Jumanji, it’s an epic from a game that… people are playing and…

Josh hides his head. Markus smiles. Mark frowns. Clay has a little laugh to himself. (I think the reactions are telling. ISTp and INTj react positively to this sort of rambling personal story, ESTp and ENTj hate it.)

Brian: they’re basically following an adventure through the game.

Brian interrupts the director and gets put in his place.

Josh: When Jon Favreau told Brian to shut up during the presentation, he was basically saying what everyone in the team was thinking. Watching Brian speak… Brian was just… talking too much. Like Markus had injected him with a shot of Markus fluid or something.
(Not everyone, YOU. Anyway, it's kind of funny that he picks up that Markus and Brian actually have some similarities, being very personable people.)

Brian: I’ve got to tell you, I owe it all to my team, who did not sleep and they came up with a really impressive idea. (Brian goes on a feel-good trip. Anyway, I think this is probably genuine and heartfelt.

Jen: We are so excited about what we’re about to share with you. We have all my helpers curled underneath, getting ready to move the parts around. So bear with us, when we take you through the incredible adventure of Zenthura!
(Little helpers curling underneath the float? Nevermind the idea in the first place, she actually likes the concept of little people under the floor. Anyway, since the name is Zathura and it's a major issue regarding the task, she's kind of screwing up here.)

Jen: So we start with the house. It’s very normal and then if you follow me to this direction, if you’re standing on the side of the street,… this is how you’ll view it. This is all about transitioning, from the normal to the extraordinary. (I think the transition from the normal to the extraordinary is something that's a big part of her life.)

Randal: During the presentation, Jen mispronounced the name of the movie. You could see the expressions on the faces of the executives when she said it and even Carolyn and Bill couldn’t keep from laughing. It was horrible.

Jen: We wanted to have not only the house and the boys but the game itself. Zenthura. And they are here. One of them is being sucked away just as we saw. And I will admit. I will admit something kind of funny. When we first started we felt the house wasn’t quite as large as we liked it to be. I actually had to amputate the mannequins legs a bit to make it fit. In order to make it small enough to make it fit. (Yeah, amputating mannequins, that's funny.)

Alla: The presentation was a disaster. Jennifer couldn’t get her thoughts together. There was no flow to her speech. She was very fractured. She was just a wreck. (ESTj are pretty hard on people.)

Jen: We wanted to show your name, Zenthura, very large here. Show it you know, on the board game… and the planet.

Jen: If my helpers will please come out… (She really likes to have helpers.)

Jen: I felt great about the overall presentation. Sure there were a couple of things we could’ve done better but I was able to get excited about it and just speak from my heart. We are in love with our Zenthura float and we know that the director and the executive loved it as well.

Jen puts an arm around Kristi. Kristi rolls her eyes.

Kristi: Ooh, I don’t like to lose. I’m so sick of losing.

Randal: Right. (ESFp and Ip-Ni quickly end up in a private discussion.)

Kristi: I don’t think I bring negative energy to my team. I’m trying to stay positive. What do you think? (Please, bring me your INTp thoughts, you Rhodes scholar you.)

Randal: It was definitely eye opening. There were a lot of times when somebody was talking and nobody was listening. I saw it happen a lot. (Very impersonal. Quite spacey, not really getting that she's more or less hitting on him.)

    Kristi: I’m guilty of that.

    Randal: Sometimes, yeah.

Randal: I think this loss has confirmed that there’s something wrong. I mean, something’s broken in this team. It’s a matter of figuring out what it is. (And Kristi handily offered herself to Randal as the troublemaker.....oops.)

    Kristi: Right. *googly-eyed*

Randal: People say, seek first to understand and then to be understood. (How very philosophical.)

Josh: Our reward was awesome. It was to hang out with Wycliffe John who’s a famous RnB rap artist and we got to hang out with him and write a song. It’s called the rubble man. Brian is Rubble. I named him Rubble early on. He was named after Barney Rubble because he actually has no indent on the back of his head. It goes straight from the back to.. his back.
(I'm sure he was overjoyed that you brought this up.)

A shot of Brian dancing around. (Brian really is quite Si.)

James: the rhyme master. Rubble rhyme master.

    Brian: I’m not writing that.

Mark: We’d been up for 36 hours and it was tough to be excited about anything but John’s a musical genius and he had a each of us do a particular instrument, a particular line and he started working on blending this together and our song actually started having a life of its own.

Lots of singing and working with the song in general.

We see shots of Brian doing backflips. (Very Si)

Jen to James: Kristi’s a pain in the neck. Right before our presentation, Kristi was so rotten to me. She goes, Jennifer, don’t screw it up, don’t miss it, don’t miss the point. Like right in my face, like totally trying to unnerve me. (ENTp-ISFp duality)

James: It’s not about the presentation. It was about the float.

Jen: I wish I could have done better.

Jen has tears in her eyes: I know that I made some mistakes as project manager but the reason we lost was because Kristi couldn’t be managed. She needs to go home because she’s a negative person. She whines all the time. She complains, is bossy. She thinks it’s Kristi’s way or no way. (Poor Jen. I'm feeling sorry for her.)

Jen: She will not even take a simple…

James: Yeah. MMm. It’s my vision that you’re smarter. (Thinks an ENTp dual is SMARTER than an ESFp contrary partner.)

This time Rebecca is taking her own bag and hopping on one foot. (Marshawn's charity didn't last that long.)

    Donald: Why did you lose?

Kristi: Branding was obviously a huge part of why we lost.

Jen: I don’t think Kristi’s the right person to be asking, because Kristi’s a liability on this team. You’re very hard to work with, I think everyone agrees with me. Kristi’s not a positive influence on the team. And it gets old.

Alla: Mr Trump if I may say something. At one point, during the construction of the float I did feel that Jennifer had it together. She was decisive. She had everything under control. She was giving everybody direction, but it was a very short while. (ESTj sort of likes ESFp and sort of likes ENTp too. Earlier Alla already came to Kristi's rescue in the first episode. Here, she's not as eager to pick sides.)

Carolyn: How did you think she did in the presentation?

Alla: I think she did horrible. In the final hours she just crumbled. (She might have been influenced by having to be a little helper curled under the float while this was happening.)

Carolyn: Don’t you think that contributed to the loss?

    Alla nods.

Carolyn: You said things like “We had to amputate the little boy’s leg”. You wanted to be project manager. This was your time and you blew it.

Jen: I’ll admit I was overwhelmed by this task.

Carolyn: You missed all the criteria of this task, every one of them. (Carolyn is ISFp-Fe, strongly Fe. Jen is strongly Ne. Though duals, it's still a significant problem for the relationship.)

    Donald: As a team.

Carolyn: One was the title. You totally blew it with the title.

Donald: Who’s idea was the scale? The scale of that house was terrible.

Jen: It was Kristi’s concept. I needed Kristi to be spearheading it. Kristi was very hard to work with. She makes it hard for anyone to manage her.

Donald: She’s tough. She does have a tough edge.

    Jen: She’s tough.

Donald: She’s not bad but she’s tough.

    Jen: She’s bad tough.

Donald: What do you think Marshawn?

Marshawn: I just think it’s ridiculous for a project manager to have to deal with somebody who’s bossy. (Here, Kristi's interruptions come back to bite her.)

    Donald: Has she been bossy?

Jen: Over and over and over.

Marshawn: Let me finish, please. (Marshawn isn't that thrilled by Jen either.)

Donald: You know you should. You should let her finish. She’s on your side now, ok. You should learn. She’s helping you, so don’t interrupt her.

Marshawn: I know that there was a point when Kristi was talking over people. She was pouty, she was bossy, she was controlling and I came up to Jen and I said: Is this Kristi’s float or is this everybody else’s float? (Everybody else's float? What does that mean? Wouldn't ... the team's float or the team leader's float be more reasonable ways to put it? At that point I think she decided to just take Kristi out, like a true beta would. She was singling Kristi out.)

Donald: Randal, let me ask you a question. If you were me, who would you fire?

Randal: I think it would depend whether you ascribe it to the time factor or ascribe it to the team dynamic. (Ok, let's assume he's INFp-Ni. Do you choose ESFp-Fi or ENTp-Ne? Illusionary or semi-dual? That's a difficult choice, right?)

    Donald: I’d say team dynamic.

Randal: I might fire Kristi then because I think in terms of the overall fit of the team she’s the one that can cause disruption. (Bad choice really. Within the current team dynamic Jen's actually the one who doesn't fit, the team is most concentrated around being gamma and Kristi was acting so strongly exactly because she felt she was an integral part of the team, she felt good about the team. Jen's the only strong Ne-Si user in the team. So Randal made a mistake here if he wanted to make the team dynamics better. It might just be that he's going along with Marshawn at this point though. Kristi OTOH is screwed because the person who has the most interest to protect her over Jen is Felisha and she's Ni, so she's not likely to protect anyone from anything. And Trump's not going to ask her opinion because she just lost as team leader so Trump thinks Felisha is a loser.)

Donald: Marshawn probably agrees with you then?

Marshawn: I would fire Kristi, for the team dynamic. I said we should fire Melissa. I think negativity is Kryptonite. I think it impedes our ability to be creative and to function.

Kristi: I’m just shocked to hear all this because all I ever get is positive…

Donald: You’re shocked? Don’t be shocked! (Don't admit that you're not on top of things!)

Jen: I admit that I have made mistakes but I have the potential to be your next apprentice. Kristi does not. (Potential, heh. Ne.)

Kristi: I’m a hard player and I can sell anything.

Jen: But no one wants to work with you. (Correction, YOU)

Kristi: That is not true. You know what, maybe you’re intimidated. (She is.)

Jen: I’m not intimidated by you. You’re intimidated by me, Kristi. That’s really how I feel, that’s why you never want … You always speak over me. *slightly shaky voice* (Not particularly reliable here.)

Kristi: I am not intimidated by you.

Jen: I definitely am going to bring Kristi in and I really don’t think I need to bring anyone else in. (Thing is, if Alphas are supposed to be so nice and always joking around and friendly and cuddly, Jen is pretty bloody-minded and vindictive about taking a particular person out.)

    Donald: Just Kristi?

    Jen: Just Kristi.

Carolyn: I think Kristi’s headstrong. I don’t think she’s the reason they lost the task. Jen’s made far too many mistakes. (It is true that Jen made a major number of mistakes. I think it's possible that Carolyn has at this point already conversed with Bill and has been talked into disliking Jen. As ISFp she'd be expected to like ENTp-Ne more than ESFp. Maybe she hasn't seen the personality issue yet and is concentrating on the mistakes, which were many.)

Bill: I’ve got to agree with Carolyn. Jen wasn’t even there for the final moments of the float.
(For Bill, the choice is easy.)

Donald: You don’t like her much do you?

Kristi: No. I would not hire Jen to work with me and I don’t feel that she’s a straight shooter. I don’t think she can lead well. And time management obviously was lacking in this task. (Jen didn't give me Ni or Te.)

Donald: So Jen what do you think of Kristi?

Jen: She is very outspoken. But I think she does it in a very bossy way. Kristi is not manageable. She does not want to be managed.

Kristi: I could improve on that.

Bill: If you couldn’t manage her, why didn’t you put her on the bench? Put her on the side!

    Jen: Because she was very…

Bill: You said she was more of a hindrance than anything else. (Bill to Kristi's rescue, sort of)

Jen: I wouldn’t be able to do that. Time was of the essence and she… I … She was very good at getting things done. (Talking yourself into a corner there. Luckily Trump likes this kind of thinking. ENTp identicals and all that.)

Carolyn: How do you manage one of his companies if you can’t manage one individual.

Jen: I managed her as well as I could. All of my sales representatives back home say that I am the best sales manager that they’ve ever had. They felt more inspired by me than they’ve ever felt about anyone in a corporate setting.

Kristi: I was hired to do a company turnaround so that it could be sold in three years. I did that in one year, with the team that I hired. They respect me. They know I expect a lot but when they deliver that…

Jen: This team doesn’t respect you.

Donald: The team doesn’t like you very much…

Kristi: I’m very outspoken. I do have an edge but you have to have an edge.

Jen: I get results mister Trump. Sometimes I get a little tongue tied. I’m human. I can lead people. People like to follow me.

Carolyn: Is that just because people like you or because you’re a good leader?

    Jen: Both!

Carolyn: This is a job interview, it’s not a popularity contest.

Jen: It’s not a popularity contest but you have to respect the other team players!

Donald: That is true, I agree with her on that. This is tough because I think that you’re almost like exact opposites. I’ve never had anything quite like it. Kristi, you’ve really got a tough edge and you really can cause a lot of problems. This is not a popularity contest but you’ve got to be able to work with people. Jen I think that you’re a really good leader. Sometimes I don’t think that your concepts are right and I’m not sure you can lead under pressure to be honest with you.

Jen: I do lead under pressure.

Donald. Ok. Maybe you do, I’m going to give you another chance.

    Jen: I’m sorry.

Kristi: Shut up, I don’t even want to hear it Jen.

    Donald: What do you think?

Bill: She made it out by the skin of her teeth.

Kristi: When Jen and I walked out of the boardroom she gave me the most pitiful smile. She stuck out her hand. She is SO fake and I really don’t care for Jennifer. I wish Alla and Felisha the best of luck. If anyone wins I want it to be one of those two. (ESFp wishing well on activity partner and beneficiary. Was let down by semi-dual and supervisor, hates the superego and has never really cared for the quasi-identical.)

At this point I'm feeling quite good about this group of people. The relationships and and personal qualities fit socionics theory pretty good. There might be one or two typings of someone as their mirror or a difference of about half a quadra in someone's type, but nothing major I think. There's plenty of material left to go through, but I'm not sure if it's time well spent, since absolute conclusions are unlikely. Is anyone reading this? Is anyone benefiting from this? Does anyone want me to continue or do another one of these? If not, I'm unlikely to continue at this point.

Yes; yes; and sure, if you feel like it. If it takes even the same amount of time for you to write as it does for me to read it, it seems you've spent quite a bit of time on this. So, I agree, that's something to consider, especially if you're satisfied with the results so far.

One thing, though - if your typings have changed or shifted over the course of this, could you list them here now at the end? So, maybe, what you thought at the beginning and, if anything's changed, what you think now?
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

Thanks. These are kind of slow to do. So I am wavering. And I do think this is the right point at which to discuss things a bit, whether someone has different opinions about people's types and so on.

One thing, though - if your typings have changed or shifted over the course of this, could you list them here now at the end? So, maybe, what you thought at the beginning and, if anything's changed, what you think now?
    Ok. That's a good idea.

The following didn't change at all (or at least I don't remember them changing):
Alla Wartenberg - Salon & Spa Chain Owner - ESTj Te
Adam Israelov - Risk Manager - ENFp Ne
    Clay Lee - Realtor - ISTp-Te
Markus Garrison - Inventor - INTj Ne
    James Dillon - Sales Executive - ISFp-Fe
Mark Lamkin - Wealth Manager - ESTp -Se
Kristi Caudell - Sales Executive - ESFp Fi
Toral Mehta - Investment Banker - INTj
Jennifer Wallen - Realty Company Owner - INFj Fi
Melissa Holovach - Real Estate Investor - ESFj Si

The following changed from my initial idea just a little (mirror relation or half a quadra change):
Randal Pinkett - Consulting Firm Owner - INFp-Ni
(The guy seemed a cool thinker at beginning, but from reading his personal page I find out that he's very much into guiding people, charities, team spirit and all that. He's also very studious, which I first thought might be NT, but actually xNFps are said to be more studious than xNTps because they "need to prove something". So Randal's collection of degrees might reflect that. Anyway, he's strong Ni, and this small change of Te>Fe -> Fe>Te isn't necessarily that big.

Rebecca Jarvis - Financial Journalist - ESFj
(My initial thought of her being ENFj hung on her martyring herself for Toral, but that was in the end just one event and most of her time in the series she seemed to be more ESFj.)

Felisha Mason - Real Estate Developer - ENTj Ni
(A mirror change. She's more quiet than most ENTjs, but she's not as calculating or as withdrawn as I'd expect from INTp. ANd she works too well with Alla ESTj to be INTp-Ni. So, she's just a particularly quiet ENTj. (for an ENTj that is))

Brian Mandelbaum - Print Company Executive - ESFj
(I didn't really get much from this guy first watching. My gut instinct said he was ISFp. But it appears that he was mostly a victim of editing and he isn't introvert or hiding at all, he was just cut out of the show so much I figured he was introvert.)

Chris Valletta - Marketing Executive - ESTj Te (A mirror change from ISTp. Little information at first because he was only in 2 episodes and I had trouble associating with him at first due to visual differences so I just had the instinct we couldn't be identicals. )

    The following changed a lot:
Jennifer Murphy - Ad Sales Manager - ENTp-Ne (From INFj. I knew she was strong Ne. This was almost just a mirror change. Remains one of the most uncertain. But she seems more flighty than a strategic thinker.)
Josh Shaw - Beauty Company Owner - ENTj (Had trouble picking up that he's close to my type because I really disliked him at first. So my instinct was to try alpha and beta types first, but then I had to accept that yeah, he's ENTj and I just don't like him.
Marshawn Evans - Recent Law School Graduate - ISTj-Se (Sort of flew under the radar at first. All matter of fact. I figured it would be Te. But when I concentrated on her and more to the point read something she had written, her concentration on personal strength and Se became obvious. Furthermore she didn't hang with the strong gamma-delta block but was sort of alone by herself and preferred Randal and Rebecca's company.

If I were to do another series, I'm thinking season VI might be particularly good, if I was able to find where I put it. Otherwise I might do season I, II or III.

I'm reading, and I like the analysis; sometimes I don't understand very much from the transcription, but overall I still find it very useful. I liked best the analysis of a single person, if that could be of use for you (of course, another person might have liked best something else)

I see your point. The dialogs are of course meant to be used in connection with actually watching the series which allows you to get visual data as well. It's good.

Because FDG had a point and someone maybe actually benefits from this I'm going to use a moment to analyze the little that is available of James Dillon.

James, 27, is in the top three percent of sales for Cingular Wireless and is a Cingular Summit award winner.
Usually I guess that sales means extroversion, but from the series we know that he's an extremely quiet and sociable guy. Just a nice guy basically, nice enought to win sales awards.

Vice President of Sigma Beta Delta
I'm not sure what skills go into that. I guess university life is mostly alpha, so maybe this is an indication to that direction. OTOH I'd expect that different fraternities centered around different quadras. Whatever.

    and a four-year baseball letterman/captain.
Physical skills, also either social, or leadership skills.

Upon graduation, he earned his second diploma in broadcasting and interned at "The John Thompson Show" and "The Sports Reporters" on SportsTalk980. He was dubbed "Gentleman Jim" while interning on Z104's, "The Bush League Morning Show." This experience led him to a position as a roaming reporter, production assistant, and weekend sportscaster at WHSV TV3 in Harrisonburg, Va.
The two "gentleman" types are ISFp and ESTj, one being the GENTLEman and the other being the gentleMAN. I'm not sure which one is implied, but from watching the show, the ESTj idea is very improbable.

When will you consider yourself "a success"?
My true success will be when my career is over, and I can sit back, relax, and say to myself, "I did everything I ever wanted to do, I gave it my best effort, I never complained about the outcome, and I have left a legacy."
Dynamic. Negative-process. Compare this guy to all the people who talk about "Do what you want and love every minute. This guy works hard so he can relax. Makes sense, eh? Also he wants to do stuff and experiment. Si.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I understand my team's strengths and then set them up to excel in their strongest areas.
This doesn't really talk to me. Could be whatever. Maybe there's a slight focus on listening to people. Anyway, from experience I know that at least some ISFps actually work a bit like this. My current boss does. But that's weak.

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
I never make excuses, I own up to my mistakes, and I make sure they don't happen again.
Now this I feel conflicted about. Fe types are notorious for telling stories. OTOH if James is ISFp-Si, he could be only weakly Fe and I could believe this. Anyway, this one doesn't seem like a lie. It makes me think he really does work like this.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
    Persistence.
What I'd really like to know is what his definition of persistence is.

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
Each and every single Apprentice candidate has motivated me because they each had their unique identity that earned them their spot on the show. The most inspiring candidates have been the ones that no matter the task, situation, or decision stuck by their gut and made the tough business choice.
My, isn't that a weasel answer. Utter bollocks, but a very kind thing to say. This is the gentlemanly behaviour that got him his name I bet. Anyway, give credit to everyone, fade yourself out of sight, that's the kind of thing that makes ISFps very much liked in general, especially in the otherwise ultra-narcissistic alpha-quadra.

What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice?
To not peak too early and to play the game.
If he cared about what has been said by the show's creators: It's not a game, it's a job interview. Given that he's supposed to be a good listener, he's not particularly good with Te. Or maybe he's just missed that one. Anyway, I expect that "don't peak too early" is more of a life motto for him rather than something he suddenly learned from Apprentice. Certainly it's something he thinks is important and wants to learn. This kind of reserving yourself, hanging out, waiting, going for the long term, is pretty much what all introvert temperaments do.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George, or Carolyn, and why?
George, because he's got to be doing something right to live this long, and he is very smart and tough.
My, this IS surprising. Supposed ISFp choosing beneficiary over dual or identical. Certainly a blip and something to consider. I'm not going to change my opinion of him based on just this, but it makes me wonder.

Since you didn't get a chance to speak inside the taxicab that took the four of you away, is there anything you would like to say now?
First of all, I did find the cab ride very humorous. This whole experience put what is truly important to me in life into perspective: my wife, my family and friends, and my goals and successes that lie ahead.
Very Si-Ne attitude. I got laid off, oh what fun!

Did your love for baseball, and working inside the batting cage, get in your way of doing an effective sales job?
From the beginning, I was fearful of the sales expo becoming a baseball clinic and it did. Once the team decided on baseball, a sport I know very well, I used it to my advantage. In my sales approach, I taught customers how equipment could help their game; I asked questions, listened to responses, and outfitted each person with the best piece of equipment for their needs. Either way, if I loved or hated the sport we chose, our team should have not have lost sight of our objective, and that was to sell.
There was some interesting stuff going on there. The project manager was ENTj. The ENTj took the supposed ISFp's advice on the sport to pick. The ISFp had a correct idea about possible problems, but apparently didn't really move to correct anything. Anyway, look at how he describes his actions, sequence of concrete actions. Did you ask questions? Yes. Check. Good, you get 10 brownie points. Did you listen to the responses? Yes. Good, you get 10 more brownie points. A sort of satisfaction out of following a procedure.

How does it feel to be part of the biggest defeat in Apprentice history and to be one of four people fired in a single blow?
If this is to be considered the biggest loss in Apprentice history then it would seem that more than just four people should have been fired. Just as the whole team helps to contribute to a win, our whole team contributed to "the biggest loss in Apprentice history." And I guess if you are going to be fired, you might as well be the best at it.
I don't get what he's trying to say here. Is he jealous over the people who didn't get the kick? Does he just think that the others should have been fired too, because they were just THAT bad? Hm. I think the best explanation is that he just wants to be a part of BIG things. It's a better story, a better experience, if EVERYONE gets fired. More fun that way. I don't know, I'm just guessing here.

Any last words for your former teammates and competitors?
I truly enjoyed and learned from each teammate. Each and every competitor, good and bad, had something to teach. I feel fortunate to be able to dedicate so much time to a common goal with successful people in all walks of business. My goal from this experience was to grow as a businessperson and as an individual. As much as I have grown in business from this experience I have grown even more in my personal life.
Uh. Right. I'm not sure exactly how much of this is an act, but it's a VERY GOOD act.

What's next in your life and career?
To use this experience as a springboard into my next adventure. I am still successfully selling in corporate America for Cingular Wireless; my wife and I are looking to expand our business, J.S.Dillon. I want to get more involved in my community and philanthropies, and I want to push myself to think out of the box and be creative in all aspects of my career and life.
I think that fits Abstract Fe, dual-seeking Ne pretty nicely. Philantropies, increasing community work, adventures.

    What is your favorite music?
    Motown

    What are your favorite books?
    Self-improvement

What are your favorite TV shows?
    Sporting events

    What are your favorite movies?
    Adventure
Sparing words. Compare to some of the real extrovert temperament answers who list everything they like.

    I'm very happy with ISFp

Josh Shaw who I am presupposing, is ENTj

Josh, 30, a successful entrepreneur and self-made multi-millionaire by the age of 24, has become a driving force in the cosmetics and beauty industry. Josh is co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of GoSMILE, Inc. (www.GoSMILE.com). In less than three years, he and his partners in the company have effectively established GoSMILE as the innovative pioneer and leader of the newest category in prestige retail, called Smile Beauty.
GoSmile, is apparently a teeth-whitenin product. The webpage at
    http://www.gosmile.com/gosmile/home.jsp
is sort of professional, uninnovative, but functional, I don't personally see anything WRONG with it. It seems like a good standard corporate page. If Josh himself has had any input on the matter which we don't know, it doesn't create a problem with the idea of him being ENTj. Anyway, creating a company at an early age to hawk something boring but productive could be called stereotypically ENTj, but these are apprentice candidates. All of them are corporate sharks, so I'll leave it at that. He's an apprentice candidate. Fine.

Prior to this venture, he had successfully helped build and run a multi-media marketing services company, Student Advantage Inc., valued at over a billion dollars at its peak in the stock market. Over a nine-year period, Josh built and managed various aspects of the company, driving the growth of the company from 12 people, generating $400,000 in annual revenue, to nearly 500 people generating over $85 million in revenue.
He claims to have DRIVEN the growth. I think that's a marvellously non-specific way to claim credit without actually stating anything specific about what he actually did. He does like to mention numbers though. I have that fetish and link it to Te. As indication, this is weak though.

He received his B.S. in marketing and finance from the University of Albany. He married his high school sweetheart four years ago, and they are expecting their first child this January.
By stereotype, marrying high-school sweethearts is Te-Fi I guess. Boring, safe, if it works, why break it - kind of thing.

When will you consider yourself "a success"?
By many accounts, I consider myself a success already.
Starts sort of evasive, short of declaring "I am succesful!" Still, could be argued to be "positive-result".

Personally and professionally, I have achieved great success in my life, and I know this is only the beginning. Most importantly, I awaken every day with a smile on my face and a passion for life that is hard to quantify by any metric.
This seems sort of typically needlessly roundabout way that many EJ types use. Quantifying smiles by metrics? That's Te for you.

Success is clearly a personal definition,
Te. Caring about clear definitions of things. Critiqueing on inaccuracy.

but I am looking forward to continue having a positive impact on others, creating value, and enjoying the journey on my road of success.
I take this "journey" thing in a way that he is describing himself a passenger on a route, rather than a driving force. I take it as a reference to the ever-changing situation that is what dynamic types live in.

How would you describe your leadership style?
I lead with respect and by example. If you treat others with respect, and demonstrate passion and commitment, others will take your lead. Leadership comes in many shapes and sizes, but ultimately, to ensure the long-term stability and success of any organization, leading with passion and by example will set you up for maximum success.
Of this, I have to mention that watching the series, he very quickly became the unofficial leader of the group and was accepted as such by many other contestants. Something that I want to mention here is that "passion" is a word much used by many types and definitely all EJ types. Leading by example is actually kind of a S>N thing, but that could just mean high Te.

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
Perspective is everything. It's not the challenges you face, as much as how you face them. Personal and professional challenges are tremendously beneficial if tackled with the right attitude and perspective. Remember this, life is full of lemons, and it's too short to not make lemonade! Put everything into perspective and you can overcome any challenge.
This is pretty much the definition of ENTj victimism. Accept anything that is thrown at you, take initiative in turning it around, finding the opportunity. Seeing it as an intellectual challenge to find the correct path through a mine-field. This is strong and stereotypical.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
Passion. Everything roots from passion - perspective and frame of reference, appetite for knowledge, determination to win, desire to create value, and focus to achieve an end game. With passion, anything is possible, and the journey is much more enjoyable. It's not just about the destination. it's about the journey.
Focus to achieve an end-game is sort of how I would phrase Te-Fi seriousness. Instead of wanting to create possibilities, turning things into a "merry" adventure with curious and wonderful and unexpected outcomes, this person is about decreasing improbability, locking things down, turning towards a more stable positive situation. Again he talks about "the journey". I myself tend to talk about "the river" (of events, on which I'm sailing). I think these are parallel metaphors.

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
First, allow me to say that all 18 candidates are winners. If you are qualified to be selected among one million applicants for the final round, you're clearly a winner. That said, and knowing there is really only "one" Apprentice, I'd say the chosen one is typically a person who flies below the radar, is generally reserved in mannerisms, is not controversial, is not outspoken, and certainly not adversarial. Most off all, I'd say the past winners have been people who are more solid business people rather than true entrepreneurs.
Notice how he isn't actually eyeing the grand prize here. He's already a winner. Seeing trends, paying attention and actually making a reasonably good synthesis here. Obviously he's paid mind. Also, non-committal as ever. Keeps his opportunities open.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George, or Carolyn, and why?
Tough one. I'd probably have to go with Big D because we could build a "6-STARRR FUULLL luxury REZZZ-ORT and an AHHH-MAZING golf course" (out of 5 stars of course).
That would be a joke. Also it's observing the trend of what people tend to do, which is kind of Ni, though this is also kind of obvious. Anyway, humour tends to be difficult to type since it may be difficult to see exactly what the person finds funny about the joke.

    What are your favorite books?
Who Made My Lemonade?, Tipping Point, and Blink
I've only read Tipping Point out of those. It's Ni in a

    from T***:
    Why they lost...
"The minute we picked baseball, our fates were sealed because baseball was out of season and had already peaked."
Oh, bad understanding the situation. Stings, eh?

    On the other team...
"It's really unbelievable that they did win, with those misfits."
Se-Ni > Si-Ne. Doesn't mind calling a group of succesful people misfits in public. And more to the point, he doesn't try to hide it behind a joke.

The host is asking why Mark and James were fired...
"Mark, who was one of my favorites on the show, did not, whatsoever, deserve to get fired. On the other hand James, the baseball know it all, was the driving force with us choosing baseball."
Is benefactor to ESTp-Mark and obviously had a good relation with him. James, the conflictor, ISFp gets the blame.

    On Rebecca...
"I absolutely was her wheelchair manager at one point. I actually called her out on it a few times, I said enough with the fake cast, enough of the bullshit." <~~~ I'm guessing that last part is a joke bc he followed it up with positive comments about Rebecca.
This is supposed to be a superego relationship. Not entirely good, not entirely bad. Sort of needless and nasty here. I don't know why he had to say this. The show doesn't let us really see how these two interact.

    On Jennifer M....
"No, we're not at odds. What happened in the boardroom, stays in the boardroom. Basically, when you're in there, you have to go with the strategy that's gonna work. She was the easiest target because she was the head of sales, but at the end of the day, it really WAS my responsibility and James' because we picked the sport."
It's supposed to be a quasi-identical relationship Josh ENTj, Jen ENTp. I think he's sligthly in denial. Or smart. It's not useful to state out everyone you dislike.

"He didn't say anything about Clay and Markus. The only other person he mentioned was Bill, who he said was probably being groomed to take George's position after he croaks or something like that. I don't know if he was trying to be funny or what, but his George hate bothered me. "
ENTj-Te, disliking ISTj-Ti. It's sort of illusionary, sort of contrary relationship. Contrary relations can really hurt. Anyway, he's mostly showing general disrespect to the whole alpha-beta Trump organization here, or that's what it seems.

All in all, I'm happy with thinking he's ENTj.

The final person of the not so fantastic four:
My presupposition is that Jen is Extreme-Ne ENTp, that is has some Fi showing through.

    Jennifer Murphy

Jennifer Murphy, 26, was Miss Oregon USA and a top ten finalist at Miss USA 2004.
Ne women tend to have this princess thing going on. Entering beauty contests would go down well with it.

She is the second oldest of twelve children and was home schooled in her native southern Oregon. Inspired by her father's entrepreneurial spirit at the age of seventeen, Jennifer began working full-time while concurrently completing courses in business and marketing.
I'd be interested in knowing what she worked as.

By 19, Jennifer was selected for a sales position with Qwest Dex. During her first year with the company, she was awarded the prestigious President's Circle of Excellence award for her record breaking sales performance. By age 23, Jennifer became the youngest manager in an international advertising firm called Phone Directories Company. There she built and managed new sales teams and markets for the company and consistently exceeded her goals by over 200% resulting in a "Manager of the Year and Canvass of the Year" in her first year with the company.
Ok, normally I allocate salespeople as extroverts. Is she terribly nice and social in such a way which would give her other attributes that gave her chances to win sales awards? No. But her looks might give her the edge that her personality lacks.

After purchasing her first real estate investment at the age 21, Jennifer developed a passion for the real estate industry. She co-founded and now serves as CEO and President for a real estate development company, and is currently overseeing the construction of residential subdivisions. Jennifer is a classroom volunteer with Junior Achievement, and teaches young people how to succeed in business and build entrepreneurial skills.
This mostly shows Fi if anything.

When will you consider yourself a "success"?
For me, the definition of success is leading a happy, productive, and accomplished life. I'm already "a success." But right now I'm a "small success." I still have a lot of growing to do before I become a "big success."
Hm. She starts out about talking about a happy lifestyle. There's also a bit of wavering which I saw a lot throughout the series. That's something that COULD be called "tactical".

How would you describe your leadership style?
I love to lead in a very positive and motivating way. I would much rather reward than discipline, if at all possible. Also, I make sure that I am passionate and enthusiastic about whatever I'm involved with. I've realized that attitudes are contagious.
Now this is more of the Fi shining through. There's enough Fi that it makes me wonder. I do think that she's lived a Fi+Ne life mostly though, my thesis is that she's in the process of turning Ne+Ti and that kind of change usually comes out more in direct contact than in comments that reflect long-term trends or likes and dislikes.

Anyway, this is also a very good reflection of why I love working for Ne bosses. They LIKE to pay and reward well.

How do you deal with personal and professional challenges?
I like to deal with personal and professional challenges with tenacity. I never give up, and I try to always maintain a positive attitude.
Tenacity? Hm. Now she's making me doubt my typing again. ... OTOH even if ENTp-Ne are wondrously flighty, they are still extroverts which requires a sort of willingness to push forward, is synonymous with it even. Hm.

What, in your opinion, is the most important quality to have in order to succeed in life and why?
I believe you must have clear direction and persistence in order to be successful. If you're tenacious toward the wrong things you'll never get anywhere.
    Yeah, that's just Ne.

Have any previous Apprentice winners motivated or inspired you? If so, who and why? If not, what did you think of the winners?
Although all three previous winners have inspired me, I would have to say I was most impressed by the heart that Kendra showed. The way she supported, motivated, and believed in her team during the final task was a wonderful example of the leadership qualities that I believe are the most important.
I have had problems with typing Kendra. I've started to consider Kendra as more likely Si>Ni. She's a person that other ESTjs seem to like, and someone who is disliked by both gammas and betas. So I think Jen singling out her instead of the betas Bill and Kelly, fits. Or maybe it's just a "sisters" thing.

What have you learned from watching previous seasons of The Apprentice?
Something that I've learned from watching The Apprentice is to always think big. Also, if you have an idea, go for it! Yes, your neck might be on the line later in the boardroom, but Mr. Trump will respect the fact that you took a risk.
He seems to have the best understanding of what Trump is really about of all the contestants. This is important to me. It does seem to me that she has a similar way of thinking with DT.

Would you rather be stranded on a desert island with Donald, George, or Carolyn, and why?
If I had to be stranded on a deserted island with Mr. Trump, George, or Carolyn, I would choose Mr. Trump. He's led such an incredible life and has accomplished so many seemingly impossible things that I'm sure he could figure out a way to get us rescued.
More of the affinity with Trump.

"Plus her exit interview showed quite a bit of self awareness. Such as

"I pretty much cooked my own goose"

and how she talked about how she was upset when the other guys were fired as well, because she liked them."
A bit of Fi there in the end.

This is not the final version. I'm just drawing from my initial instincts on a lot of these. There will be corrections probably roughly on the level of the previous examples. Anyway. I want to achieve a certain level of material. I'm just collecting stuff for easier access. Don't mind any of this for the while. I would also like to point out that I am aware of the bias EJ>IP here. Partly I think particularly many EJ types just take part in these series. Partly I think it's my inability to observe the IP temperament. I am trying to get better at it through rewatching these series and trying to pick up on clues as to IP.
