Default Should I bother?? ENFp with ENTj or ENTp

with an ENTj who may also be an ENTp? (I'm ENFp) Either way, not such a good relation...should I give it a try anyway?

Barely know this person...so any good ways to tell those types apart? you'd think it'd be very obvious, but it's not. Thanks for the input!

Avoiding people just because they're not a good type relations is bad.

I'd say be adventurous. Might turn out that he's great in bed AND business.

    ENTj's can do that.

yeah. he's hot, but I've had an awful relationship w/ an ENTp in the past. I'm hoping he's ENTj...but that is also said to be bad.

I know it's bad to pre-judge based on type, but I just am tired of doing the ENFp thing of getting my hopes up and then...splat.

Then don't get your hopes up. Live moment to moment, and take what comes. And try and work towards a better future.

Well, someone may avoid a person for many reasons, if someone is looking for what they see as their perfect partner, and maybe even had some bad experiences in the past, then I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with avoiding a potential mate, based on what a person perceives as compatibility. It can be part of the overall jigsaw.

And some people like me avoid most kinds of people...

I think I'm especially avoiding ISFp, INFp, and ENFp...

And I'm not avoiding as much ENFj, and ESFp...

    It's hard to tell though.

I've had lots of bad experiences with many types

I get these flashbacks .. about bad experiences .. that remind me of other people that are like them ...

Like ISFp... overemotional ... INFp... bitchy, uncaring ... ENFp... Wrong, erraneous ...

Then ENFj are friendly, and ESFp are intense .. .?

    Something like that.

I think I should be more weary of ESFp.

That said I don't avoid .. so much as not go out of my way to interact with. Which accomplishes the same thing...

I think it goes something like ISFp seem nervous around me, so if I just ignore them, then they interactions won't anchor. INFp's seem to hide from me, so if I don't seek them out they'll just kind of ignore me. ENFp's seem to get paranoid that I'll disagree with them. So I just speak my mind, and they get defensive.

    Wee!

But on the forum, Nick is INFp and he's cool. Loki's meant to be INFp, and she's cool.

Then starfall for instance reminds me of what I conventionally think of INFp's as beng like .. more childlike .. more able to be emotionally manipulative etc? Stronger Fe .. I'm not sure. ..

Maybe it's Fe subtype INFp's that are scary.

Look at that, jewels! Problem solved! Damn, those SLIs are handy.

I dunno - it's worth a shot getting to know him. Just take it slower and if you find that there's a lot of friction or you don't have enough in common...well, call it off... is the only reason you're questioning this socionics, or is there some underlying friction already that is making you nervous?

lol. Yes, I agree w/ you Tinydancer...ISTps are handy. I never ever meet them in real life though...I really don't think we notice each other

the guy is an ENTp, it's confirmed. I'm hesitant, as there is that Ne problem of his scattered attention. I like the introverts that sit there calmly and actually listen to you. I think it's nice when they pay attention like that. But I dunno....

I am more hesitant based on socionics, but also because I had a bad break up w/ an ENTp in the past....so I wonder if I can just tell him what the possible problems will be and see if he's willing to bother adapting? That prob wouldn't work of course.

I think if he could stop himself from teasing me, that'd be good, as I don't take that well -- I don't mind in some situations, but he'll laugh at me if I make a mistake and I don't like that. But I'm not sure if he can do that or not. We'll see how it goes tonight.

And Darkstar, I wish it was that easy...I would totally make a sandwich. In my experience though (or actually, my friends' experience) cooking for guys can scare them (as the guy thinks the girl wants to marry him right then and there if she brings out the oven mitts).

Hm. Yeah... I had a thing for an ILE once.. didn't work out. And I've since realized that despite having a decent amount in common, it never would have. We're still good friends, though, which is nice because he's really fun. And knowing other ILEs... :/ eee...just don't see it working.

There's just too much Ne running around. It wears on me after a while, especially in high pressure situations. It's weird how it pushes a mental melt-down that much faster.
