"The comfort zone is a behavioural state within which a person operates in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviours to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk (White 2009). A person's personality can be described by his or her comfort zones." - "Comfort zone" on Wikipedia
That's what you mean, right? Like, what kind of situations are you not anxious in, and what makes you anxious, and are these situations prone to change?
I, personally, am quite a fan of my comfort zone, and I don't consider myself wanting to break out of them very often. The times when I do are more because I feel like I should be trying to expand my comfort zone, not because I'm bored with my current one. Indeed, perhaps the reason I feel like I need to expand such comfort zones is because I am naturally adverse to expanding them, and so feel like I need to make a conscious decision otherwise I'll be stuck with my current one and be inflexible or ineffective.
I'm unsure what you mean by changing comfort zones. There are definitely situations in which I feel uncomfortable, but after time I become comfortable with them. However, unsure you consider this "expanding" as the essence of the zone is still the same: I'm working with people I know and we're doing things I know. However, I feel tempted to say (although I don't think this is very certain) that my comfort zone is fairly solid: the things I need (e.g. people I know, doing things I understand) don't change, and if I don't have them I feel anxious or uncomfortable.
I'm less than comfortable when: public speaking, being in charge of people or tasks I don't know or understand, all the old classics. I'm not being too helpful with this part.
Warm Regards,
