my memory only extends to three that I really like, and one that I really dislike.

Ross Noble - some Ne type?
    Russell Brand - EIE?
    Mitch Hedberg - SEI?

    ---

    Russell Peters - SLE?

Agreed...on types and quality (Peters SEE?). My favorites are

    Mitch Hedberg (SEI)
    Jerry Seinfeld (LII)
    Steven Wright (ILI)
    Ellen DeGeneres (probably IEE)
Yakov Smirnoff (EIE) (though his older acts are pretty silly)
    Robin Williams (ESE)

    George Carlin - LIE
    Robin Williams - ESE
Eddy Izzard - SEE (Gamma SF anyways)
Bill Hicks - ILE (although I guess EIE or LIE are possible as well; probably whatever type John Cusack is)
Dave Chapelle - ILE? IEI? IEE?
Adam Sandler - IEI or SEI
    Dennis Leary - LIE>EIE
Jim Carrey - probably LIE, possibly ILE
    Chris Rock - ILE?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Judging from this clip Bill Hicks probably does not have subdued Se:

    I'd say EIE.

    Jerry Seinfeld is not LII.
Ellen is not IEE though this may be her subtype designation

Dennis Leary is some Beta ST type
Adam Sandler is somewhere along the lines of IEI or ESE...probably the latter
Jim Carey..i have no idea theat would be an interesting one to do but i think you're on the right track with both your suggestions there moreso the latter

Robin Williams is obviously Fe dominant if you ask me; EIE would be the only other option IMO. I can see Delta superficially, but if you watch his acts I think Fe dominance is apparent.

I'm pretty sure Leary is either EIE or LIE. I don't see SLE or LSI at all to be honest.

Why not SEI for Sandler? I don't see ESE at all, personally; I think IP temperament works very well. I lean IEI, but I think SEI is also a very good option.

What a person is and what they are controlled by are 2 differnt things. You must seperate one from the other. For example.... some ENTjs come across like ESTps vice versa.

Leary is way too S inclined not to be an S.

I cant see SEI for Sandler based on my internal database of other SEis ive known.

Your internal database says that IEIs and ESEs are more alike than SEIs and IEIs?

Personally one thing that I've learned in my time studying socionics is that having a "picture" of a type is a good way of narrowing down someone's type; ie, giving you an idea of what they might be, but is almost never a good indicator of what someone is not. Using an idea of what a type "should" be like is an exclusivist attitude and generally leads to discounting promising possibilities, IME.

How do you see Leary as S-inclined?

This is so true. I've narrowed down my types but still haven't known what I am for sure sure yet. But that's my own fault, I just need more real world exp. to see what meshes well with my good intuition and what was good for me that I didn't know I needed or wanted. I like being a jack of all trades though so I doubt if I ever will be all OH YEAH MAN THAT IS SO ME! It's healthy to be unsure of yourself as long as it doesn't get too out of hand, people don't seem to get that.

Only but not limited to the case of Adam Sandler.

Its not "how:...its "do you"...seeing just occurs...and better so for some people than others. The mental image matrix and the notational matrix combine to suggest that other possibilities yield low percentages.

Just my opinion based on having watched his sketches and comparing him to people I know. I couldn't give perfect rationale right now because it's been a while since I've watched him, but I remember concluding that he was probably SEE, with ESI and EIE as possibilities.

Actually I would say EIE>SEE upon re-evaluating my VI impression of him.

    Care to explain your reasoning?
