With what type have you had the best relations?

I'm torn between duals and semi duals.

Hmmm, well several of my best friends through the years have been IEIs as well as my brother (with whom I have a very good relationship). So I guess I should vote identicals. I've also had close friendships with a lookalike and a beneficiary. I married my supervisee and our marriage is a good one in many ways albeit imperfect. Over the past year or so I've become friends with my dual and that's really great. Easy once it got started and totally comfortable.

So I suppose my answer is: identicals and duals. Although I will point out that when I have a problem that needs a solution, I don't gain a lot from talking to my identicals about it. They see things in the same way and although I love being understood by them, they don't have much to add to the problem-solving end of things. So in terms of giving me a different perspective, I appreciate my beneficiary friend. (also, the lookalikes rarely have anything helpful to add--they're too much like me but they're great in every other way!)

Really there isn't much difference. Two sides of the same coin, or the same fucking coin with both heads (like two-face!) - what the fuck? It's still just a bleeding coin that works. I don't see duals outwardly giving you all the right answers 100% of the time either, anyway. I think both intertypes naturally restrain themselves from being too preachy and obnoxious with helping you- because that IS inherently condescending and doesn't work. I laugh at the self help book-y ness of it all. On the flip side, I think when your dual/identical is upset with you they can get too wordy & emotionally desperate (as they really give a shit, but maybe this is only a beta dual thing) as they know they can find the advice they're giving you useful for themselves... as they want to be together with you on the journey.

I get the whole thing about not idealizing duals and not running your conflictor over with a truck everytime you see each other, but really- if you really accept socionics, then you accept that you can't ever have a good relationship with your conflictor and that supervision is innately annoying, etc. And no, I don't think sex with your conflictor is hot- but maybe that's because I don't have fucked up views about sex like 99% of people.

The whole premise of socionics is some people get along and some don't, regardless of hobbies and lifestyles! That *is* interesting, and people want to know why. Also if you weren't such a shallow, vapid whore and got to know your conflictor in a deeper way - the closer you got, the further you'd yank yourself apart from them. If you can't accept that this naturally happens with your conflictors (even though you might think they are hot and are certain you can get along, which the description even says), how can you understand socionics?

no, not really. it's about the most complimentary types of information exchange, not about relationships per se. and then saying that you "cant ever" have a good relationship with a certain type.. even if you meant only your conflictor.. is also a stretch. You would have to define the terms more closely to make anything close to that kind of statement.

Do you mean a Dual who has another Dual influence ? As in if I were IEI, I'd get along best with an SLE who has had another IEI in their life for long before me ?

OR did you actually mean to say an Identical, so another IEI with SLE influence? Cause I think THAT would also be highly, highly awesome =D

Well, if two of my sisters are ISFp - tentatively for now - then semi-dual. Otherwise, mirror, and I'm slowly getting to know a couple of duals... which is good so far.
