    Question Who's your enneagram dual?

Which enneagram type would you consider to be your "dual"?

My "enneagram dual" is type 7.

I 'd also pick type 4 as my 2nd ideal partner (maybe less like a "dual" in socionics terms, although I could see that too, but more as a 2nd best long-term potential relationship)

I must admit I've no idea; I've never really studied the enneagram a great deal beyond finding my own type. I guess whichever type SEEs are likely to be, which from what I remember reading here and there is usually somewhere between 6 and 8, with the wings also within those boundaries (i.e. from 6w7 to 8w7 and all inbetween). But I could be wrong.

These are the most natural and/or most common Dual pairings in the Enneagram:

    1s and 2s
    3s and 4s/5s
    6s and 8s
    7s and 9s

Are you asking me to gay marry you? because the answer is YES. That might've been too much.... I couldn't stop clicking things for added effect.

Anyway, maybe 2 or 9? I'm not sure. I'm not that well versed in enneagram and I haven't really tried matching people I know with enneagram types at all, although for some of them it shouldn't be too hard.

I would think my enneagram dual is 3. Second choice is 4.

Even if threes can get on my nerves sometimes I think three would be more beneficial to me because they would motivate me to achieve. To fulfill my potential. They wouldn't let me slow down. Four would be someone I could spend good time with but who would passivate me. Four is like a "lazy man's choice" for me. Three would make me work harder for the relationship than a four would.

Seven would likely be the least compatible. Or perhaps I just misunderstand the types because in theory seven shouldn't be such a bad match. Just from what I read about it I don't get good vibes. They seem somehow chaotic, random and unpredictable. The opposite of what I need.

Odd. I've always been most strongly attracted to 7s (both 7w6s and 7w8s). They're like my Achilles heel. Definitely the bane of my romantic existence.

Well, it is good to know many of you Ni types so far like eights.

    1w9 probably.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

If I take an enneagram test on behalf of my dual, I get 2w1. I'm not at all convinced that's right.

Type 2 is the natural dual of ISTjs and INTjs.

Hmm, yes, it does have implications. I can't find a 2(w1) description I find satisfactory at the moment, however.

What sort of enneagram type would an ESTj get, roughly?

You could perhaps be a 6 if you are an INFj, but the most typical 6 is an ISFj.

He is not a 6 if he is an ESE. Study the Enneagram and the types and stop spreading bullshit. Every ESE is a 2. Period. And, yes, of course every SEI is a 9.

No, it is not necessarily true that every LII is a 1. But it is necessarily true that every ESE is a 2 and that every SEI is a 9. The ESE is the prototype for E2, and the SEI is the prototype for E9. And if you are the most typical representative of an Enneagram type, then you cannot be any other type. Why? Because both your Enneagram type and your socionic type are inborn.

9s are certainly not the most typical optimists, and ISFps are certainly not the most typical pessimists. You don't seem to understand what it means to be a Negativist in the Reinin dichotomies. It does not equal being a pessimist, and neither does being a Positivist equal being an optimist.
