bad news for obama
MSNBC reports he gives his daughters 1$ a week for chores
However, his youngest 7 year old daughter has been doing chores continuously, despite not receiving the 1$ allowance. Obama says he feels bad about this.
Now I'm not saying this will translate over into how he would act as president.....

On the positive side of things, seeing him speak at Germany, I realized that he is carrying a lot of people's hope. For better or worse, that is the case. I realized that some people are better equipped to do things like that.

At first I tend to admire people who sell hope, change, vision etc... but it's funny how that admiration can fall apart in an instant.

ditto. it's when they don't get very specific about WHAT that hope, change, vision is leading to. change for change's sake is not where it's at, for me. change, while explaining EXACTLY WHAT you're gonna change and WHY, and then i have to agree with it within my value system, then, i'm on board.

I don't think he knows. He knows that he wants it, but he does not know how to do it. Reagan wanted a change in policy against the Soviet Union, but he himself didn't know how to bring that about. He had an ideological idea, certainly, but how that plays into the intentions of the whole is another story.
The danger of Obama revealing whatever strategy he has is this: if he does, it may prove so persuasive that the Republicans may use its sheer credibility as a cause belli to adopt it, thus "stealing" the idea. The Democrats know this and have learned to keep their ideas close to the belt until just before the elections.
I think Obama is the new Theodore Roosevelt: he is modernizing the presidency for a new century. He intends to redefine our perception of the presidency.
