Default Flattering and Deceitful Types Exist

Found this one while theorizing about manipulators....

Flattering/deceitful types submit themselves before the object in return for its graces. These types are similar to the corrupt type, but instead of prostrating themselves before an internal archetype, the flattering/deceitful type will attempt to seduce a real person into their grasp.

These types perceive that the object is a subject and goe out of their way to flatter it. Once the subject-object relaxes their guard, the type observes that the object is open to their advice. They will invariably use this opportunity to raise their own profile in the eyes of their listener. The deceitful type (a shadow form of the flatterer) may go one step further and tell boldfaced lies about their enemies whom have refused to be flattered.

When a consensus type, the flatterer makes a good spy and is a master of subterfuge: they will employ the transcendent function effectively enough to get on everyone's good side. The field-moralist form of the flatterer is often referred to as a "con-artist".

    Fictional flatterers:
the protagonist of the movie Liar, Liar (played by Jim Carrey)

    Fictional deceivers:
    Prince Phobos (W.I.T.C.H)
    Sauron (The Silmarillion)
Dark Sol (Shining Force: Return of the Dark Dragon)
    Jafar (Disney's Aladdin)
    Beigan (Final Fantasy IV)
    Emperor Gestahl/Gastra (Final Fantasy VI)

One additional note: the relation is conserved between both parties. The flatterer observes the object as a subject; meanwhile the subject-object observes the flatterer (a subject) as an object: the flattered comes to see the flatterer as an object in themselves, a source of positive reinforcement and attention. It's not a one-way affair: yes, the flatterer may not be acting in completely good faith to the flattered, but if the flattered says anything then the flatterer can always retort "but you liked it!" By observing the flatterer as an object for their convenience, the flattered has surrendered their own moral highground.
