Thread: Am I really an INFP?

  1. #1

Default Am I really an INFP?

My boyfriend thinks I'm an INFP, and some tests say I'm an INFP, but I don't know if I can fully be described as an INFP.

For sure, i'm introverted. However, I question the NFP part. It seems to me like all I*** descriptions describe me in some way. I was convinced I was an ISFP for a while, but now I'm not so certain.

How can I be absolutely sure what I am?

I don't like those types of test because I have no idea the difference between somewhat agree, agree more than disagree, etc....

It seems like I could take that same test 100 times and give different answers every time.

    Okayyy...
Well Rocky posted this a while ago when I needed help finding my type

Do you feel repulsed by overly-happy people or annoying little kids?

Do you think you are an impulsive guy?

Do you feel you can push you're ideas on to other people?

Do you worry about your health a lot?

Do you get extremely upset if someone makes fun of your appearnce or the way you dress?

Do you feel uncomfortable in what you believe in a lot of the time?

Do you enjoy watching over or checking up on things?

    Are you willful and determined?

Do you feel sometimes people don't appreciate you?

Do you enjoy thinking about abstract ideas?

Do you think practically and do things that make the most sense?

Do you waste time on fruitless dreaming?

Do you care about breaking down non-human type systems and understanding them fully?

    Are you good with computers?

Do you like exploring new opportunities?

I guess just copy, paste and fill in your answers.

You might be an ENFP you know, they are known to be the shyest of all the extraverts.

Whether your introverted or not has less to do whether your shy or not and more to do whether your energized from outside activities or from within.

I don't think I'm ENFP since I don't see other people as potential adversaries. But now I'm more confused than ever.

Yeah, the adversaries part sounds like me, but that's paranoia more than anything else. Anyways, it comes down whether your or is your main function. Or is and are your strongest functions. I highly recommend you read the descriptions. They are really well written and is how it clarified that I was an ENFP.

I had always found that confusing. As I got older and had to go further into depth on things the more I avoided outside activities.

The number one observable difference that I have found between extroversion and introversion is that extroverts tend to think out loud, it takes more energy to think before speaking/acting. Whereas introverts tend to think..and think..and think. (Though, once an introvert knows you fairly well, there is no shutting them up!)

Also, Introverts have the personal perspective of the outside... my world. Extraverts see things through the eyes of other people.

... some other things I can think of...

    Introversion:

Harder time seeing how you compare to others.
    Constant reflection.
    Conserving energy.
    Limited.
    Personal perspective.
    Comprehension.
    Internal attention.
Sees the relationship between the outside objects and subjects well.

    Extaversion:

Harder time seeing the relationships between you and others.
    Acts on the inner world.
    Energy-expending.
    Broad.
    Objective perspective.
    Expression.
    External attention.
Sees the outside objects and subjects well.
    MAYBE I'LL BREAK DOWN!!!

You're taking some things from T/F there, Rocky.

    T things:
Harder time seeing the relationships between you and others.
    Objective perspective.

    F things:
    Personal perspective.
Harder time seeing how you compare to others.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

No I'm not. Jung describe the Introvert as "subjective", and the Extravert as "objective", in the sense that the Extravert sees things in the "objective world", while the Introvert sees things "through their eyes", the subject is man himself. Introverts always make their final decision based on the subjetive factor.

Also, believe it or not, IxTx types have a harder time sizing themselves up to other people in terms of abiltiy, etc... then they do seeing their relationshops between those people and themselves.

And I remember one other thing. Introverts are more "sensitive" to outside stimuli. This is why sometimes people say that Introverts tire out more quickly. It's becuase they can get "overloaded" more easily, whereas Extraverts are always searching for more. They feel like they can't suck enough out of the outside world, so they keep on going back, and staying longer, to satisfy that.

So I took the 320 question test...

    http://socion.info/cgi-bin/html/resu...257692317.html

I'm having a few problems understanding what it means, but I think it's telling me I'm INFP, again.

It says ENFp pretty clearly. You're a delta and two of your strong patterns are ENFp.

But does that mean I'm more than an ENFp?

EDIT: Like am I crossed with other types?

EDIT 2: Like I said earlier, it doesn't seem like I consider others as potential adversaries. So I don't know how correct it is to label me as an ENFP.

Yeah, I agree it looks more like an ENFp... I thought you sounded more like an Extravert...
