    Default Design furniture

Is buying expensive "design furniture" more or related thing? And what quadra would be most/least nterested in doing that. I can see it a thing in the sense that they can be seen as status symbols but also related in that they are usually kind of aesthetic looking.
In any case their practical value is usually way less than their price tag. Which seems to suggest that people are not too interested in buying them. Unless they are seen as investment or something.

Well, what do you think? Would you yourself buy these?

Any type might buy if they had the means and inclination, but their reasoning would be different... Like you alluded to, might want to go for the designer stuff for the status symbol-ness of it (especially obvious when there's similarly-priced, equally-or-more beautiful/comfy furniture available, but they go for the designer). types might go for that furniture as well, but it would be more about the comfort and beauty it provides in the home, rather than impressing others (not saying the designer factor wouldn't matter at all, but it would be much less important).

As for the quadra most likely to buy expensive "design" furniture?? Hmm... I don't know that this is answerable, but here are my two cents: quadra most likely to buy for reasons is probably beta; quadra most likely to buy for reasons is probably alpha. ...again, this is just a guess... EDIT: Actually, having thought a little more about the quadra thing, I think that people froom any quadra are probably fairly equally likely to buy the designer furniture, but if you asked them about it, each quadra's people would have different reasoning; it would be their motivations for buying the furniture, rather than the act itself, that would be most telling.

It is true that the motivation to buy design furniture is more important the the actual act of buying. However it seems to me that the act of buying is more tied to some functions than to others. E.g. I don't know if Ti, Ne or Ni are in any way related to buying them. Te only minimally . Fe or Fi I'm not sure about but doesn't seem like that. Thus it seems the act of buying is most related to Se or Si.

About all types being equal...I don't think so. Funnily I think that e.g. ISFj or ESFp is way more likely to buy these than ENTj or INTp. I don't know how that plays out when they live together.

I'm also interested in people's personal opinions. Do you yourself buy or want to buy expensive design furniture and for what reason?

This was inspired by a recent conversation at home because my better half very much wants to buy them but I very much don't. I wonder if there is a way to persuade her not to...

Fair enough. I didn't mean they would necessarily be equal, but that any type might shell out for the designer furniture... mostly I was trying to be inclusive so as not to incur resentment from, say, an INTp who had just finished paying off her $20,000 designer furniture
