    [QUOTE=ephemeros;387274]Every function is associated with a Ba-Gua concept symbol (trigram) as it follows:
    ⚋ Yin :
    * ⚏ Earthly:
    ** ☷ Earth, plain - Introverted Ethics
    ** ☶ Mountain - Introverted Logic
    * ⚎ Watery:
    ** ☵ Water - Introverted Intuition
    ** ☴ Lake - Introverted Sensing
    ⚊ Yang:
    * ⚍ Fiery:
    ** ☳ Thunder, lightning, shake - Extroverted Intuition
    ** ☲ Fire, flame - Extroverted Sensing
    * ⚏ Airy:
    ** ☱ Wind - Extroverted Ethics
    ** ☰ Heaven, air - Extroverted Logic

    'Airy' should correspond to two Yang lines, not two Yin lines.

    So my friend really likes lightning more than the other elements. Does that mean he's Ne ego?

    No, couldn't be correlated. I don't have a terrible fancy for lightning.

    I do have a liking of mountains though. Wind too. A combination of those are my favorite, how convenient actually. A cold windy mountain mesa in the morning, somewhat void of plantation, is one of my favorite places to visit in my relaxation time, via thoughts.

    Very interesting thinking. I might go about it quite differently, I mean... not in a directly contrary way, but fundamentally totally differently... first I'm going to have to get a deeper understanding of socionics... but I really want to encourage this and will have more to add in time if this topic continues.

    I have to say, I finally got around to reading all this, and I am intrigued. The correlations with Socionics are fascinating, and the imagery is evocative in a satisfying way.

    It's things like this that prove, to me at least, that Socionics is a real thing, and not just some arbitrary classification system with no real basis in reality. It's the same with the concepts of Quiddity and Haecceity -- when different people completely separated by time and space independently come to the same conclusions based solely on their observations and logic, it's strong evidence that those conclusions are correct.
