Default Really hot ISTp interaction with a girl of Childlike type

i dont know what the girl's type is.. but she comes off as infantile to me.. someone asked me what an infantile sounds like, i think it was jem? and this is a good example i think of what I think anyway.

so the video is an interview of a band, and it has an interview segment and then plays a music video; there are three times this happens. However when the video starts playing, you are able to just continue the interview where it left off by clicking "Click here to continue the show" on the left where the interview was playing prior.

The second segment after the first video, the host (woman) is trying to open a bottle of wine, and the ISTp is the one on the far right, who helps her open it.

you can see he is the only one who doesn't think she's an idiot, even seems amused. He also grabs it right away seeing the need. "Physics" he says. <33333

    Does he say:

    Hheh, that was pretty good

Yeah, i noticed that he doesn't make her feel dumb.

And if you look at when she's trying to pull it up with the corkscrew, you can see his hands already start going up to try and help her when he sees she still has trouble

    Here:

    http://www.thelanashow.com/episode_two/show.swf

Make sure it opens in your browser, then fast foward the video all the way to the end.

After the pinkish arrow comes, click "Click Here to Continue the Show"

The beginning of the next scene is what Ms. K is talking about.

What do you think the type is of that other woman who gives advice instead of helping? She annoys me. (c:

hehe, she doesn't annoy me but she does kinda look like she's just telling you what to do instead of actually helping you.

I like when the dog growls

She seems kinda ENFp...I like how she obviously doesn't really think she can open it, but still tries as if looking for someone to help, but not asking for it to not impose...but clearly making fun of her ability to do it while laughing...seems ENFP like that.

It's great when ISTps notice such things. Also nice they don't laugh and say "you suck" as others would...such as the vibe you get from that mean lady.
    Hi! I'm an ENFP. :-)

This video makes me realize my ISTpness again. But I suppose I am better at creating Si and not Te.
    She is wise
    beyond words
    beautiful within
    her soul
    brighter than
    the sun
    lovelier than
    love
    dreams larger
    than life
    and does not
    understand the
    meaning of no.
    Because everything
through her, and in her, is
    "Yes, it will be done."

LOL @ this video and this thread.

I will admit that I often have trouble doing things like opening jars and bottles, physics and chemistry or no. I'm pretty stubborn about it and you can DEFINITELY see the "infantile" in me when it happens. I scowl when someone tries to help me and turn away and struggle with it until I finally get fed up and pout (and I'm quite serious when I say I pout) and meander over to the person who tried to help me and just give them whatever it is I'm struggling with. And then when they open it without a problem I sulk, but secretly love it.

Because I'm stubborn and intellectual I like to act like I don't need anyone's help with anything and that I can do anything I want, but I secretly love every second of people taking care of things for me. Well, only if they don't do it in a way that doesn't signify condescension or a lack of respect for my ability to be independent and do things for myself.

Also, Jem and Dolphin, you're hilarious. You're so much better at being ILI than I was at being EII.

ahahahaha That style of corkscrew is my worst nemesis. I've gotten pretty good at it now b/c that's the only one I have and I'm too lazy to buy another one... They're very awkward. I feel like I'm going to drop the bottle while I'm trying to keep my grip on the metal part.

It's great when ISTps notice such things. Also nice they don't laugh and say "you suck" as others would...such as the vibe you get from that mean lady.
How is that lady being mean though? There something I'm not getting here... The girl hasn't opened a wine bottle before, so she doesn't know how to do it (obviously). I don't see anything dumb about that, and the other lady is just pointing out how she should do it. To me, it's more demeaning to have someone snatch it from you without letting you do it and asking for the help if you can't.

The impression I get from reading this thread is that what you guys attribute to infantile behavior seems to me more like "women in the Victorian era" behavior, where the woman was the child and the man was the grownup. I don't know if it takes place in that era, but it's like what you might see in the movie "My Fair Lady." The woman is the silly, childish, and immature one that needs the man for even the most mundane tasks.

I don't relate to problems opening something, since I do have good arm strength to open such things as jars and the like, and I am even asked to do it in my house. I agree that the girl in the vid acts rather "infantile" in the general sense, but I suspect that it has nothing to do with the socionics infantile. However there is one thing I can relate to, and that is the deep appreciation for someone helping me in any task. Just the idea of someone wanting to take a task (usually tedious) away from me without wanting anything in return seems too good to be true.

Sereno, look at it this way:

She's trying to open the bottle. She can't. She looks around saying "help" with her eyes. The woman just gives instructions (which she obviously doesn't need, she already can conceive how to open the bottle), whereas the guy actually goes up and helps her while making no big deal out of it, and while hesitating to also make sure it was OK and he wasn't intruding on her independence at the same time.

I'm sure he wouldn't have done it if she refused help, or if he felt he was belittling her.

thanks lv, that helps explain it for me too.

i've personally got this "thing" where i do what you described VERY NATURALLY WITH CHILDREN. but, i always thought that those children would "grow up" one day and be able to do those things without being "rescued" anymore. so, i don't naturally look for those behaviors in adults. once i get to know a person, i can "switch over" into that way of behaving with another if i sense that that is what the person is needing. but only after i've gotten to know them and their personality.

The woman is the silly, childish, and immature one that needs the man for even the most mundane tasks.
    No.

    yes.

socionic differences are about what someone takes for granted, when the preferences and relations are actually useful in that they save time doing tasks together. shared understanding and values will cut time and aid cooperation. someone who doesn't share the same values will view the behavior or suggestions as wrong or unnecessary.
