Meta -Ti with Exertion +: the Essence of Logic
'+' aspects, when treated as energy, may form the content of -Ti cause-and-effect relationships. The idea of strict cause-vs-effect relation as dependent on an external force, and not exclusively on immutable law, may seem strange; but there are different ways of reckoning cause-and-effect, and for that matter, different varieties of cause-vs-effect proper. This thread will attempt a discussion of these.
Draft list of the -Ti:+ pairings
+Ne: the influence one's own choices on the situation; contrast these with -Ne, the absence of choice. +Ne argues that logic is what you choose of it to be. It may make more sense to think of it as choices between available logics. "By that logic, X will always mean Y."
+Se: one's own capacity to compell usage of a given logic. Communism is a case in point: you abide by the logic of the party, or the party will exert its force against you. Contrast with +Ti:-Se, which amends its own logic in response to the imposition of force.
+Si: influence of conflict or harmony on the logic of the situation. "LII and SEE are conflictors; therefore LII and SEE should not engage in marital relationships" is one such conclusion.
+Ni: the influence of process on reason; deductive logic. "Well I see how you reached that conclusion, given the analytic process you used". The scientific method is one such process for the deduction of logical truth. The scientific method is often misapplied by Gamma quadra: it is not the intention of the method to ascertain empirical fact, but to assess the validity or invalidity of theories whose application may yield fact. "If the force of gravity is a feature of all objects, then everything that comes near to a mass many times bigger than it WILL fall towards the mass." On the other hand, you do need empirical data of the situation to ascertain whether a given theory is relevant to it or not.
+Fi: the relevance of one's own motivations to how one sees the world. The world is perceived in such way as to befit the observer's gratification. The observer sees what they want to see and nothing more; if they do want something to be true or valid, then it isn't. If they do not want to see a cause-effect correlation between two phenomena, then they will not observe it. A case in point is the continued denial of the theory of relativity by those whose would prefer not to adopt the outlook it implies. Because those who disagree with the validity of relativity do not want it to be so, they instead adopt alternative logics that make relativity invalid. Contrast this with +Ti:-Fi, which observes the influence of the presence or non-presence of character traits on one's capacity to make sense of observed situations and adapt oneself to them.
