Default I want a small child

My parents' friends brought their 11 month old baby girl, and it was extremely cool. She is a very messy eater. I kept on finding myself wiping her mouth and hands. I think I am a caregiver or something, I was just drawn to the little thing that cooed and moved its arms up and down.

Aww. I went through that phase for a bit, then I realised I still preferred art to babies

Go work in childcare over the summer, it will cure you forever, promise!

my other girl is sweet, gentle, calm, looks "through" you, and yet tough. she punches anyone who gets too close to her. it's a funny combination in a 13mo old.

Wow, what a coincidence. I was riding home on the bus after fireworks last night and there was a single mother with three kids. She kept talking to her kids by mouthing the words to them because it was too loud and by making signals with her hands and they knew what she was saying every time. As I was watching I started to think about how profound the connection between mother and child is. I was going to start a thread about it.

    You wouldn't want children? ):

I would want one for me and two so the one won't be lonely.

Do you r00t? We could have something perfect going on here....oh wait I'm in Australia, hahaha FAIL *cries*

I guess I want them someday, just not right now, or in fact in the foreseeable future... I dunno? I'm complicated enough without bringing kids into it right now!

I don't think it's fair to the kids to have fewer than 5.

I also don't want to have children until after 30...because I'd like to do some fun things with my life before pissing it all away taking care of the children.

So I guess I want an SEI who doesn't want children right away, and then wants a lot. Either that or I date women several years younger than myself.

    Just like cats, eh?

Seriously though, I also think it's better that way.

I want about 4 or 5 kids, so it sounds fair to me. Not right away, but sometime.

There's something about the idea of having children of your own, that this little person is a part of you and it's your responsibility to take care of them, that is just so viscerally satisfying. It hits me in the gut and simply takes my breath away.

Is there a word for that?

    Harvest will come

The SEI partner of my ILE friend doesn't want to have children. Neither does my SEI friend.

What a waste. Don't reply, just accept it.

Are you an only child by any chance?

I know that, I am one. But my dad had 5 brothers and sisters and said the total lack of privacy was tiring at times.

One brother. More siblings would have been a lot better since we moved at least twice a year and essentially weren't allowed to leave the house until high school.
