Your views on IEIs appear to be kinda rough, and you need to understand our complexity more. That song is not very romantic/lovey at all, despite what he's singing, I'm just not really feeling the emotional (romantic) impact of the music. There is no real connection with the audience, that's why it's a good 'gotcha' vid. It's widely used for internet pranks too... and since the IEI is versatile and dominant in our ability to understand romantic concepts, I don't think you could effectively do that with an IEI's music. He says 'You're shy' very crude-like, which is not what an IEI would do at all since we're sensitive to the intricacities (sp? lol) of what it actually means to in fact, be shy. It's like it's so bad because he can't even effectively realize the ridiculousness and anti-romanticism of what he's actually signing about. Is it function related or just some weird 80s thing? Hell if I know.
Of course what he's performing doesn't necessarily reflect anything about his personality, but his personality as a performer makes any IEI-ness fall flat to me.
It's a bit too... upbeat for an IEI in a way that I cannot explain. Gamma or Alpha SF is much more likely.
Do you have any other info on his private/personal life? I've tried to research shit but couldn't find any.
The amount of people being typed IEI lately is pathetic. It's not even funny anymore.

Hmm. A Beta Romantic song (It's upbeat but still very romantic to me) is 'Don't Let it Go to Your Head' by Fefe Dobson. Or maybe I'm just biased to her music. Paris Hilton 'Stars are Blind' is also extremely romantic to me lol. (Despite what people say about her personally that song definitely rocks.)
It's romantic because it's constantly striving for a better love, while remaining that bittersweet tension. 'Never gonna give you up' is too smothering and isn't something an IEI would do AT ALL. =D See we know our IEI shit.
Romanticsm is like the beauty of pulling away and pulling toward. (And being kinda okay with not sure mentally what you really need yet - I think that's where the SLE's Se comes along.) It's being terrified that what you're really feeling is 'too good to be true' so you kinda observe it from a distance.
It's having somebody but not really ever having them. 'I had a porcelain doll, I held onto it too tightly' *That* is romantic. 'Never gonna give you up' is actually anti-romantic. Through the absence and being shy of love, you begin to see what love really is, how much you really think/meant to each person. That is one of the many reasons why IEIs are the masters of love and romance above all the other types.
The real IEIs know a real from a fake, and he is no IEI. Sorry! =pi do kinda think he is IEI heh.
