Books you've always wanted to read but never have

Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky

Egads, save me from that. I made it through Crime and Punishment. The story was great, the character names, not so great. I had a hard time keeping names straight.

I generally get through the books I want to read, but basically every book I've ever read parts of in order to complete one of my history papers. I wish I had the time to read them properly, but I never do. And my attention span is such that I usually don't go back to read them when I'm less busy either. I can't wait for my masters when I have an excuse to just sit there all the time and read those books from cover to cover.

I've always wanted to read Dostoevsky and Kierkegaard more because I like the philosophy so much, but I've never had the gumption to just sit through it.

I would not read it entirely straight-through though unless you had a study bible (recommended: NRSV Harper Collins Study Bible) with notes and explanations at the bottom and with introductions to the content and context of the book.

the bible... although I've been exposed to alot of it in church I've never been able to make it past the first four or five chapters of the old testament on my own.
