    Default thehotelambush enneagram type

I'd be interested to hear some ideas on this.

    Equine type:

You always struck my as Haflinger
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

~an extraverted consciousness is unable to believe in invisible forces.
~a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious.

I do admire its versatility and strength. But I've always thought of myself more as an Appaloosa.

Damn UDP and his jocular demeanor. Let's get typing, people!

You remind me of an INTj-Ne I used to sit near in a maths class. He was kinda extraverted and funny, I think. He had zero care of his appearance and his hair was always dirty, but since he was cool, I didn't tell him.

The guy was probably 6wsomething. w7 I think. You don't strike me as a 5 to the slightest. I can't think of any other type that fits.

I don't know too much about the enneagram (I don't care much for it), but I typed myself as a pure type 5 - I see myself as quite similar in style to thehotelambush, so...

I think I had a slight preference for w4 over w6, though this is possibly cuz I found 6s bossy etc. , which is 'obviously' not like me. w4 seems quite suicidal and arty, which is not me either.

I'll prolly get stoned for this, but the test on okcupid is two questions long, and so it's quite easy to change\evaluate answers you weren't sure about and evaluate what each type is about:

This website's quite useful for comparing wingtypes etc. (change the page by typing in the url):

Alright, I'm pretty sure now that I'm a 5w6. The levels/growth and decay fit me perfectly. This year really made me realize that being intentionally involved in the world is what I need to keep from becoming isolated and arrogant.

I'm not so sure about variant, but I'm thinking so/sx. so has been the most pronounced in me lately, but I've always identified pretty well with sx too. I'm pretty neutral towards sp. (Does that make any sense?)

I thought 9w1. You seem to seek harmony in the way 9's do.

Either 9w1 (more likely) or 5w6, and maybe sp/so or so/sp

my first impression was 6, but i couldn't exactly decide between w5 and w7. 9w1 makes a bit of sense, i agree.

I don't see hotel having the same anxiety as a 6 would. Nor do I see him having the same fear of the external world that a 5 would. He reminds me of bionicgoat, kind of complacent in a good way, just seeking contentment. As for instinct stackings, I'd say so/sp because he seems more concerned with having an agreeable collective atmosphere rather than the internal sort of gravitational balance (lol) of sp's.

Yeah, I really don't identify with 6 at all. I could care less about being "responsible" or secure, and I rarely get anxious.

Nor do I see him having the same fear of the external world that a 5 would.
Idk, on the forum you're seeing me in an environment where a) I'm using a theory that I am familiar with to interact with people and b) there is not nearly as much pressure to act decisively as in most of the external world. IRL it's very different.

Overall 9 sounds basically just as possible as 5. 5s sound too dark, but 9s sound too soft. The biggest problem I think is that I feel like I'm very strongly devoted to my goals (maybe the 1 wing could explain that?). Although I like keeping the peace, I'm not much of a people-pleaser.

9w1 IMO. I don't know why but he makes me want to scream. I'm not sure that these two things are related but I felt as though both were needing to be expressed. You're welcome.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

5 and 9 are in two different relations triads. 5's are in the rejection triad and 9's are in object-attachment triad. I see hotel much more as the ladder, as he seems concerned with external validation, or at least harmony, in a way that 5's aren't.

That's a good point. I think I am a lot more similar in Enneagram terms to Bionicgoat rather than, say, niffweed or tcaudilllg. What do you mean by ladder?

@Gilly: Are you trying to make a point? Go whine to your therapist or something.

yeah, you don't have the fear of the external world that they do.

as for gilly, he will be taken to the special place soon.
