How do you handle boredom? I don't know why, but to me it's a depressing experience... What kind of things do you do to get out of it?

I cook, read, study, write, go for a drive, watch a movie/tv show, have a smoke, make a mix CD, call someone up, write an email, lay down, draw, tease my roommates' cats, review '5 year plan' (more like 5 week plan), etc.

I don't get bored too much any more. I find myself judging whether or not I'm being 'productive' at achieving some emotional end.

Boredom is wasted time I've got a lot of wasted time coming up this summer.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.
If you're in this forum to learn something, be careful. Lots of misplaced toxicity.

Yep. Replace "write" with "clean my room" and "draw" with "fix shit around the house"

Sounds good. Though the one thing I don't feel like doing is calling someone up, just leaving the phone off.

That's interesting, I might have the opposite problem.

Well, that's not a bad idea, but I'll have to commute a lot for charity.

But what do you do when you're awake? I find sleeping a good way to make the day go by faster actually.

Yeah I need to do that.... eventually. To me I have a pretty organized mess, I know where everything is located. You'd think it's a mess, but, it's not... Also I don't feel like doing that type of activity, hehe.

I almost never get bored, there's all kinds of stuff to do or think about. Consider looking up a new hobby or reading up on a new subject.

I do all kinds of stuff - usually the quickest and easiest is to pick up the local events paper and find something random to do that I've never done before and prod some poor sucker into going with me Or get a group together and go out, take a trip, go camping, whatever... sift through the library, find a good book.. sign up for some random class..

Very timely. I've been getting that itchy bored feeling these past few days...

When I get bored, I go and wander someplace. The library, or the park, or wherever. Getting out of the house and being around other people, even if I'm not talking to anyone, helps me, personally.

When bored, I tend to want to get out of the house for whatever reason. So I go take care of errands, work out, eat out, etc. Alternatively, I'll pop open a book, look up random new things on the internet, watch tons of movies, or take a nap.

You'd be bored to death in 3 days. 4 if it's a big house.

Maybe, but I think it would be the ultimate life. Pop a few kids out, play with playdough all day, watch talk shows, bake cookies, etc. What more could you want?

    I'm kidding. Sort of.

Nah, it rocks. I'm never bored. Or, anyway, if I am I go out. But man oh man did I used to get bored at work. And I didn't have the option of just leaving if I got bored either.

Heh well I meant the general impression I got from her was that she'd get bored, but, to each their own right?
