Yeah, I always thought INFp
Moonlight will fall
Winter will end
Harvest will come
Your heart will mend
Great character, great movie!

ISFp was my initial impression of her, though INFp is second most likely. Creative is most evident, but then she also seems to have a focus in her interests as well as having what appears to be an Alpha disposition. She is fascinated by sights, sounds, and different experiences that may be odd or atypical. What she seeks is the , that hidden essence, within the artwork and the miscellaneous photos from the photobooth.
Johari Box"Alpha Quadra subforum. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." ~Obi-Wan Kenobi
Functionally I suppose she does show more evidence for Si but what about how she acts?
She is a just a fictional character though.
Maybe an SEI who acts IEI.
LOL, number two!!!!!
Hello, my name is Bee. Pleased to meet you .
hilarious.
I connected with her- it was like how I work and how I feel inside expressed for the world to see kinda. And mostly I liked the movie and hope she's SEI cos the movie was very YES.
I'm making words with such vigour tonight, look at me go!!
Mostly I'm very sooky because I have a throat infection and I'm trying to kill it with superhappy. Oh wait, that's kinda sorta Introvyrt summin'
Kam, please make sense of this.
Hello, my name is Bee. Pleased to meet you .
My old friend SEI, was so similar to her it was scary. Partially she modelled herself on her, but then she was like that anyway. So:
SEI.
ENTp... love it
3w2
Well I think it's pretty cool that we can all agree on the probability of IxFp.
This is my absolute favorite movie. I think that at least part of the reason for this is that it gives off such an SEI vibe. The movie is teeming with and, to a lesser extent, .
As for Amelie herself, I think she is also SEI. She seems to be totally driven by . One of the main aspects of her life is taking note of the little things in life and enjoying them. She loves to search for skipping stones, collect them, and skip them. Also, the narrator mentions something along the lines of how she loves the smooth feel of the stones in her hand. These all point to dominating .
Even more evidence of can be seen in Amelie's apartment. First of all, her apartment is well-kept, which suggests sensing. It is filled with big, fluffy pillows and deep, sensual colors. It gives off a very "homey" feeling. Just about everything in her apartment emits a warm glow, creating feelings of comfort and a positive atmosphere ( and ).
The Two Windmills, where Amelie works, seems to emphasize . The patrons and employees are very social with each other; even the creepy stalker guy is permitted to freely voice his emotions (although this just might be an oddity of France ). Amelie doesn't seem uncomfortable in this environment, and in fact she enjoys it, giving more evidence of .
Also, she seems to have a fascination with new/different/exciting things, which shows an emphasis of over . Her never-ending desire for new experiences means she probably has as her 5th function. The scene where she explains how she likes to notice the little things in movies that no one else notices (the fly crawling on the lens) indicates valued /.
I adore this movie, and Amelie is one of my favorite fictional characters. I'm fairly certain that there is some duality at play here, and even though it is fictional, the copious amounts of in the film appeal greatly to me (my 5th function).
I'm also pretty curious about some of the other characters from the movie, especially Dufayel (the glass man / painter guy) and the Two Windmills crew (Gergette and Joseph in particular).
What about INFj for Tautou?
(I don't know, just asking)

I was recently watching this movie and yea, ISFp seems to be an accurate typing.
However, I find the character & the whole movie really lovely. It's hard to dislike your conflictor.

I haven't seen the movie in a while... but am I the only one who thought the movie was just kind of bizarre? I remember I did not really care for it because I found it so weird.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Haven't seen the movie in a long time, but Audrey Tautou is Si-ISFp, so I guess I agree with everybody.
I also thought SEI for Amelie. very alpha movie too imo...the style i mean. I thought it was cute and enjoyable and light, but not what i would call my favorite movie.

I remember half paying attention to this in French class once, it was very strange to try and pick up the story from the occasional glimpses I saw, so it was forever branded as "a weird movie" in my head. I watched it again recently, it is pretty strange, but I don't think that's why I don't rank it as one of my favourite movies.

Lol, how the hell is she SEI? She seems IEI-Harmonizing to me and perhaps the Si people see in her is also from her being sp/sx? I sometimes confuse or find it hard to separate Si from Sp.

Beautiful Dreamer
- Expression: wistful self-absorbed expression, sighing, magic is in their head
- Energy: calm, steady energy expressed intensely, withdrawing
- Behavior: withdrawn, calm, wistful and self absorbed
- Mindset: "I can have merging/intensity without having to leave my orderly & pleasing lifestyle." (imagination, safe people and relationships, when the safety of these are challenged they withdraw)
- Examples: Alanis Morisette, Amelie (Amelie)
as IEI-Ni sp/sx as it gets
Obviously ILE. WTF are you people all smoking?! She's -seeking as fuck.
The whole movie is full of , , , traits - this may not mean that she is SEI over IEI but I think it's a very good supporting argument.
She delights in sensory pleasures, whether for herself or for others and is frequently shown to be an introvert, so SEI really does seem to be the best fit. The narrator and many of the other characters merge into the way her personality is defined I think...the narrator is from her perspective essentially and comes out with information about people she meets that is of not much use (it is scattered and of personal interest)...especially early in the movie, the narrator discusses the likes and dislikes of various characters in a similar fashion which emphasises her ...one such observation has Amélie stating she likes watching people's faces at the cinema and seeing details in movies that no one else notices (this perhaps is not insightful on its own and probably doesn't even rule out IEI).
The movie focuses very much on positive emotions - the only exceptions are when she imagines her death (where people are mourning her because she brought so much happiness, and also because she envisions her father dying unhappy), and also where she plays tricks on the mean greengrocer (but even then, it is all part of a very upbeat movie). The moments in the movie that can be singled out as primarily are fairly few in-between - the only completely out-of-this-world example I think was when she imagined when Nino was late ...and I think any moments would be more categorised as HA than Ego (I refer to the example of the narrator to reflect my view).
The movie does mention Don Quixote, but she is a SEI Don Quixote
In Paris' grief-stricken streets millions of mourners line the funeral route. They silently show her the boundless grief of newly orphaned children. Strange destiny for a selfless young woman who nevertheless took such joy in life's simple pleasures. Like Don Quixote, she pitted herself against the grinding windmill of life's miseries.
I've watched only half an hour of this movie before turnning it off, as it's not really my thing, too cutesy and adorkable hehe. I think Amelie is SEI and I can't relate to her that much. She's cute though.
