Default What MBTI type are you?

    Oh no he fucking didn't.

This is just passing interest. I want to know the spread of members here.

Also, tell me this: did you find your type through a test (either that rip-off $99 certified one, or an equally quality free one on the net), or did you find it through study of the functions as defined by Myers-Briggs?

INTJ...based on those crappy internet tests, and by looking at some of the profiles. INTJ fitted better than INTP.

I read most of the literature on MB that was available at my university library when I discovered it. I think my type was either INTJ or INTP. The Jungian terminology put me off though. I didn't want to/have the time to delve into depth-psychology at the time.

that is what i was getting at. if there is an inescapable appropriation that is required in the act of understanding, this brings into question the validity of socionics in describing what is real, and hence stubborn contradictions that continue to plague me.

I usually still get ISTP/ISTJ. I just tested INTP on the socionics.com test. heh.

ISTJ. I took an informal one seventh grade and another about three months ago(oddly enough the teachers who gave the tests are both science teachers and both ISTJs). Based on the information pertaining to the functions my type either has to be ISTJ or ISTP, but in accordance with the info on Judging and Perceiving I determined my type ot be ISTJ.

I was tested back in 6th or 7th grade as well, and I think was ISFP. I began taking it again (tested at different websites and stuff) about six months prior to discovering socionics and routinely got INFJ though INFP popped up about 30-40% of the time.

IXTX something. recently i've been getting ISTP on MBTI tests, despite the fact that i probably haven't taken one for months. INTP and INTJ are more conventional choices. i have no idea which fits better.

Haha, I almost hate to bring it up, but this thread caused me to go back and read some type descriptions from MBTT. INFP sounded better than INFJ for me (plus they even had a quote by Kahlil Gibran there too)!

tests mostly give me INFP, though a few consistently give INFJ (maybe they're testing the J/P differently?). Functionally, I probably relate more to INFP, though with the descriptions its hard to pick between the two. The F is usually also borderline

INTP, as a study of the type-descriptions.

My guidance counselor in school made me take the test.
I got ENFP there. When I got results I took that 70 question online one and got ENTP.

EVERY SINGLE ONLINE TEST (both socionics and MBTI) I have been ENTP. So I guess my school's was off.

My dad scores ENTJ on those MBTI tests every time but he's actually an introvert in disguise. He's an INTJ. Like a lot of introverts he only ACTS extroverted.

Same for me except switch out INTJ with INFJ.

I never studied it deeply enough to get into the functions.

I worked for a corporation that put all its 150+ workforce through a series (as in, not just one) of MBTI seminars. I tested INTP at first, but I balked at its description, and eventually the seminar administrator and I settled on ISTP. Since then I have taken several online versions and usually come up ISTP. I was a little surprised, given the differences between MBT & socionics, that my type remains the same in both, but in both systems, no other type fits me better, so, meh.

hmm I guess the reason why I didn't pick up on the humour Ezra is because you actually saying something like that is not inconsistent with my impression of you. Maybe this suggests that I see some real similarities between you and Phaedrus, but then again, my impression of you could just be totally off the mark.

I tend to test as INTJ in online versions of MBTI tests, getting INTP, ENTP and ENTJ on occasion, and I know exactly why -- I come out as a strong "I" if the tests strongly associate "introversion" with stuff like solitary walks and small groups of people, and "extraversion" with "social outgoing". Likewise, my "J" score goes down the more the test associates it with "tidiness", "organized desks", "kept appearance" and the like.

Reading profiles, I identify usually the most with INTJ, especially the one in typelogic. I don't really fit the usual ENTJ profiles.

To be fair, in at least one bit of keirsey.com there is a mention that, according to Keirsey, the ENTJ - being not so different from the other NT types - can also be rather "introverted" socially; however, the longer Keirsey profile on ENTJ that I've read is also full of nonsense, like the implication that ENTJs want something like a "trophy wife who will take care of the house" etc.

So, I really don't bother about Myers-Briggs these days. I'd be curious, though, in knowing how a supposed Myers-Briggs specialist would type the Stratievskaya LIE profile, since that describes me very accurately, maybe 95% or more.

I test out the same type on the keirsey sorter as I am on socionics. I tend to identify with the type descriptions on socionics, MBTT and Keirsey more or less, for the same type on all three.

My first thought was "a weird ENTJ".

However, I think ENTP is actually plausible.

So you are in the 50 % range of Extratim/Introtim and in the 50 % range of Ethics and Logic? But what could that possibly mean? That you don't know whether your leading function is extraverted or introverted? And that you don't know whether your creative (auxiliary) function is ethical, logical, sensory, or intuitive? Are you confused?
