    Default IM Elements and $$$

When some dude or chick thinks "money", he/she will think :

posession : "that money is mine"
potential purchasing : "I can buy that item, or even that item with that money"
economic activity : "let's make some profit with that money"
    spending : "LET'S GO SHOPPING !!! "
pleasure : "I can make lots of pleasurable things with money..."
financial freedom : "having lots of money makes me feel free !!!" (that's why they seek )
financial security : "having lots of money makes me feel safe, mainly in the case of some dark days"
business relationships : "no money, no friends"

I find this amusing. I however like to pretend money does not exist. In my ideal world there is no such thing as money. This is why I ignore my checking account. But I'm too broke to travel, and I would really like to. Reality sucks.

I relate to the freedom-seeking part of having money.

it's true... in our society money enables you to do things that not having money would either prevent you from doing altogether, or make it really difficult/time-consuming for you to accomplish... on some level I resent this set-up.

Well, why do you resent it. I mean, let's take travelling as an example. You can still swim your way across the ocean if you want to go to Europe from the US without spending money. However, if you need services from other people to do it, well they need to live too.

I think you're right... I still seem to harbor some slight tinge of resentment deep down even though I know I'm wrong. Lol.

Would you still feel that way if you had lots of it, or just enough (whatever that may be) ? Just curious

I think I still would. Part of it's the inherent unfairness... for instance if I lived in a garbage dump outside of a city in Brazil as a child... totally broke, little to no access to medical care, food, the basics I need to survive, etc. No education... How am I ever going to be able to do anything interesting... other than get sick and die while I'm living in the garbage dump?

Yeah I think it's just thats the way the Western world is, is that we can't do anything interesting or even take care of ourselves without money. Like, there's kids living in mud huts like in Thailand for instance, no money and stuff, yet they've got their family and friends and they're not hungry they've got places to play and stuff, they're healthy and happy, and who's to say not some of the happiest kids out there? Dunno, just a thought.

Perhaps would be more interested in the potential of money to achieve goals? Freedom would be not being attached to your money... having the money gives you the power to do things. I see I used the word "potential"... but money is good for making your dreams into reality.
